Third point of View.
Dark grey clouds, howling wolves, blood, screams, death and everything in between. The battle was gruesome, it was fierce and it was finally happening.
There was smoke, there was fire and it was raging.
Swords clanged against each other, wolves fought wolves and Artemis was unstoppable. With her gleaming blade and sharp red eyes she stormed through the battle field, slashing her enemies
No sympathy, no mercy and death to all those in her way. She ducked the from the snarling wolf, using her blade to slash the stomach and somersaulted landed right on her feet. Twisting on her heels, she grabbed one of Ares' soldiers twisting the neck and sending a round kick to the opposite man.
Her eyes never leaving her target as she fought her way through the crowd. She was sweating. Her sharp eyes gleamed with blood lust and she wasn't giving up.
Right behind her was Storm, watching her back.
As fast as lightening, he struck those who tried to get close to Artemis using his bare hands. The powerful feeling coursing through his veins made him just as unstoppable as Artemis.
"Watch out!" Storm screamed, pulling Artemis by her arm behind him before sending a strong kick to the soldier's gut. Artemis followed by twisting her self around and slicing his throat. He coughed out blood, splattering some on her face and she growled, eyes blazing red.
"This is too much!" She yelled over the noise. The witches had started attacking as well. Dark fogs surrounded the place making it impossible to see the target.
Artemis kept calm, keeping a protective stance in front of Storm. The battle was still on going and she could hear the dying screams on both sides.
"Esme's sister is bringing the death shadows." She muttered, gripping the sword tightly in front of her. Her eyes wide and alert as she stared into the darkness.
"Death shadows? What the fuck is that?" Storm asked, looking around with narrowed eyes. He could hear some gurgling sounds coming from the mist but was not sure as to where.
"Stay alert Storm, keep your eyes wide open because they can attack without you seeing the-" She didn't get to finish before she saw one heading straight for an unaware Storm.
She grabbed the back of his leather suit, dragging him down before flipping over and slashing the darkness into half. A scream echoed followed by an evaporation. Storm rose to his feet staring at the scene that just happened right in front of him.
"Esme! Samaria! Now!" Artemis yelled.
In the mist of the darkness, a glowing light spread through it pushing the darkness away until the the battle field could be seen.
Up in the trees, Samaria got alert. She grabbed her arrow, fixing it into her bow and aimed below her. "Archers! Ready!"
The sounds of the archer drawing the string back filled the forest as they awaited for the next order.
"Aim!" She said next and some aimed below whilst others aimed above.
"Fire!"
They released it. Each arrow flew either above or below, finding the targets and ending them instantly. The men on Ares and Arson's side started dropping one after the other as the arrow found their way into the chest, head or eyes.
The entire field was bloody.
Ares yelled in frustration, shifted his gaze to the dark witch standing beside him and grunted. "Destroy them."
Esme's Pov.
I lay still behind the tree with Alec watching as the followers of my sister sent their shadows to attack Artemis. Sometimes Artemis really surprises me with her skill. I know she is a goddess but she just baffles me at times. She probably could have killed all the shadows without a moment thought but then the others wouldn't be able to see them.
The losses on our side is huge and it's really going to take a miracle. Samaria and the others have joined the fight and it's kinda of cool to watch how fast her people are in slaughtering the wolves.
"Where is your sister going?" Alec's voice snaps me from my thought and I shift my gaze to watch my sister climb up a hill. She stops, eyes fixed on the massacre happening in front of her and then smirks.
Emrie goes on one knee, her red hair floating in waves around her and her eyes go completely black. She places her palm flatly on the ground, muttering words under her breath and I curse softly.
The ground begins to shake, a slight crack starts forming from her point and she suddenly looks ahead with a wicked glint in her eyes.
"Fuck this shit!" I curse, whip my head and face Alec with a complete calm look. "Alec."
He looks away from the scene with a frown and it soon turns into confusion when he sees the smile on my face.
"What?" He mutters looking at me weirdly and I grin, rubbing my palms together. The shaking intensifies nearly throwing me off balance and I grip the branch tightly.
"Remember how I said you should learn to control your -you know abilities." I state softly, stretching out my palm in front and sending the darn rogue flying a few feet away from us. It crushes the back, and I form a fist watching as the body coils into a ball until it stops moving.
"Yeah what about it?" Alec questions and I grin before dropping it from my face.
"I need you to loose that control else Emrie will swallow us whole." I state blankly and his eyes widen. The ground slowly begins to open up, crawling towards Artemis' group.
I face Alec. "Right now!"
He breaths in deeply, steps out from behind the tree with eyes turning darker with each step he takes. I follow behind him, using my magic to wane off anyone who comes closer. The sky rumbles with thunder as he gets closer and loses more control but I can also tell he is in control with the way his fist are tightly closed to his side.
A dark cloud surrounds him and he suddenly falls to his knees, placing one hand to the ground and just as Emrie did he does the same. The trembling continues, swallowing up some of Artemis people and I huff in frustration.
Whipping the dagger from my side, I run my fingers over it, chanting a spell before throwing it in the direction of my sister. Just before it gets close, she lifts her palm, stopping it inches away from her face and slowly looks sideways in my direction.
"A bit slow sister." She taunts and I smirk.
"Was I?"
A sudden blast catches her off guard, pushing her a few feet away from where she was.
I look at Alec proudly but his gaze is fixed on the body a couple of distance away from us. I rush towards him, grabbing his clenched fist and turning him to face me.
"Easy buddy." I say, gripping his hand to snap him out and he takes in deep breaths, eyes returning back to green.
A chuckle catches our attention and we both snap our gaze to see my sister standing there. Her black eyes look over Alec with a gleam of interest and she tilts her head to one side, watching carefully for a minute before her lips tilt up in a devious smirk.
"So you saved him." She states and I shrug.
"I mean what did you expect." I reply smugly. Her eyes twitch a bit, irritation flashes across her face before she masks it with the blank look.
She twirls her finger around, looking at us with those dead eyes but you can see the intention behind them. "I always say this is not personal sister but I'm going to have so much fun killing you."
I chuckle, drop my hood down and bend to take the daggers from my boot. Alec's eyes turn black and the same dark clouds surround him and his fists that are directed at Emrie.
"Don't say I didn't warn you sister." I grin.
I run towards her, stepping on a high stone and pivoting myself up in the sky before throwing my knife at her. She swiftly dodges it and in turn releases a bunch of icicles in my direction.
A dark mist pushes it apart, followed by a fire ball hurled towards her. She ducks immediately, picking up my knife and flinging it in Alec's direction. He blocks it with his palm, mutters some words and the roots under Emrie's feet begin to grow outward, trapping her legs.
She looks down, chuckles and raises her gaze to meet us. "Cute."
Emrie claps her palms together, creating a force of blast that sends as flying in the air and burns the roots trapping her.
I rise up slowly, narrowing my eyes at her. "Stupid bitch."
Alec growls, looking in her direction and clenches his jaw. "Joint attack?"
I grin, wiping the trail of blood on my mouth and tie my hair back into a messy bun. "Should be fun."
