That evening after Gwen went to grab her wand from her locker, she entered the Common Room with a smile lighting up her face despite the depressing situation.
No one was in the Common Room except for one person and he was enough to make the girl's smile slip off her face.
In front of her was a truly depressing sight for the eyes.
Oliver Wood laid on the floor, his body straight like a wooden plank with his face buried deep in the carpet. He didn't move, it was just pathetic.
"Are you alright?" Gwen asked looking at Oliver with worry.
Oliver let out a couple of inaudible words and he still didn't move. "What?" asked Gwen once again.
Oliver finally raised his head. "I'm depressed." simply stated Oliver who returned to his plank position.
"Yeah, I've got that, thank you very much," replied Gwen.
Nothing else was heard or said, the only noise came from the wood crackling in the fireplace. "So I'm going to go," Gwen said.
Silence.
Gwen nodded her head and decided to take that well-needed shower. She walked past Oliver, leaving him how he was, and walked to her dorm.
"HELLO!" Gwen jumped as soon as she entered.
Both Angelina and Alicia were sitting on Gwen's bed with big and slightly scary identical smiles on their faces. "Hey?" Gwen replied. She was starting to freak out at the abnormality of the situation.
Silence, again.
"I'm going to shower. And for two people who felt the cold sting of loss, you two are very happy." The two didn't say a word and the grins were still stamped onto their faces.
During her shower, Gwen sang like she never sang before even though she was sure that she was torturing her friends with the sound of it. Gwen was simply too happy to give a damn. Whenever she thought of the kiss, she would get giddy and start smiling to herself.
Many people describe their first kiss to be perfect and would start seeing fireworks in their heads. For Gwen, the kiss wasn't perfect.
She pretty much stood there like a statue at first and when she did start reacting, she bumped her teeth against his at least three times.
Gwen practically floated into the dorm in happiness, and Alicia's and Angelina's whispers went silent.
"Okay. Truth time. What is going on with the two of you? You've been acting weird, weirder than usual." Gwen said, she grabbed a hairbrush and started working through the knots.
"We'll tell you later. But first, is there something that you want to tell us? Like, I don't know... why you weren't here in the common room when you told us that you'll be?" Angelina questioned cheekily. The creepy grin still plastered on her face.
Gwen tried to hide her reddening cheeks from them as she thought about Cedric. "Cedric gave me back my broomstick since I left it in the pitch. I must have forgotten it with all the panic." Gwen replied as she fished her brushing.
Angelina gave her a look and raised an eyebrow as if saying 'is that all?'
Alicia suddenly stood up. "Oh, what the heck! We saw you kissing Cedric," Alicia pulled Gwen forcefully into a hug. "We're so happy for you!"
Angelina let out a groan. "Really, Alicia? I thought we were going with subtle." Alicia let go of Gwen.
"Subtle? Because looking at me creepily with a murder smile on your face is very subtle." Gwen replied as her voice practically yelled sarcasm.
Angelina playfully shoved Gwen's shoulder before then pulling her towards her bed. "So, how was it?" A smile was on her face but this time it was a curious and gentle smile, not the creepy one. Alicia sat on the other side of Gwen.
Gwen giggled happily. "It was good, I think... And after he kissed me he walked me back to the tower. I honestly feel like I want to sing that song from the muggle film Laurence once showed me. The one that was named after the country, Greece, I think."
Gwen thought back on the film for a second before realisation hit her.
"Wait, hold on a moment! So you're telling me that you watched me and Cedric kiss one another?" Gwen exclaimed as she jumped up from the bed.
Gwen faced them and suddenly felt embarrassed. Alicia and Angelina looked at each other. Alicia opened her mouth to say something but then closed it once again. She wasn't quite sure what to say without sounding voyeuristic or weird.
Angelina scratched the back of her neck. "Yes?"
Gwen sputtered exasperatedly. "Wow! I thought you were creepy when you two were looking at me like two psychopaths. But nothing gets creepier and more stalker-like than watching your friend snog a guy."
Alicia scoffed and threw a pillow at Gwen, pretending to be offended. "Sure it sounds bad when you say it like that." Gwen let out a laugh and threw the pillow back on the bed.
"Where is everyone, by the way? The common room's empty except for Oliver on the floor."
Angelina, who was lying on her bed, stood upright. "Wait he's still there. He has been there since we and the twins got back."
Gwen let out a groan. "Please don't tell me that Fred and George saw everything as well." Alicia snickered. "We could but then again we would be lying."
"Great, so I'll never going to hear the end of it. I'm going to bed, I had enough excitement for one day." Gwen stated as she dramatically flopped onto her bed.
"But we're supposed to do the werewolf essay that Snape gave us." Angelina pouted as she showed Gwen the stack of parchment that she grabbed from her desk.
Gwen could see that it was entirely blank except for the title 'Werewolves' and some doodles of little dogs in the corners.
"Screw the essay, I'm tired. Just copy from the one Quirrell gave us during third year." Gwen explained as she fluffed her pillow.
"Let's just hope that Lupin is back on Monday." Gwen heard Alicia say. "You and me both sister," Gwen muttered. She slurred her words an indication that she was falling asleep.
Angelina was about to ask something else but when she turned she saw her already asleep with her mouth slightly open.
Angelina smiled at the girl and turned to look at Alicia who was trying to find a book from the mess in her bag.
"I'm glad that she and Cedric are kind of a thing. She deserves someone nice who makes her happy." Alicia looked up, forgetting her book for a moment.
"Let's just hope that a jealous someone doesn't ruin it," Alicia muttered and Angelina knew who she was referring to.
"Right, but I get why he does all that. I mean how would you feel if you couldn't be with someone who you are and have been madly in love with since forever." Angelina said with a sigh. She might not be able to understand what Fred was going through, but it was clear that it was hard for him.
Alicia tried her best not to look at Angelina.
"True." Angelina didn't the off-tone of Alicia's voice and yawned. "You know what? I'm going to pull a Hamilton and I'm going to sleep. Night."
"Night," Alicia replied as she saw the other girl pulling the covers over her body. She took in a harsh breath before turning back to search for her book.
One day she would be the Gryffindor that she is and say something. But today wasn't the day. She just had to channel her inner Hufflepuff and be patient.

On Sunday morning Gwen descended the dormitory stairs and was relieved when she saw that there was no sign of Oliver Wood anywhere near the fireplace.
A mass of red hair caught Gwen's eyes and she quickly called over Percy. "Hey, Weasley! Wait up!" Percy looked at Gwen and then around him. He pointed at himself and gave her a look as if he was questioning if Gwen was calling him.
Gwen told herself that she should have just called him Percy as a gazillion Weasleys are running around the magnificent castle.
Gwen walked up to him. "Do you happen to know where Oliver is? He was here last night being all depressed and whatnot. Just making sure that he didn't do anything stupid like you know... jumping off the Astronomy tower or murdering anyone." Gwen said, obviously joking.
Although there was a hint of seriousness in her voice.
Percy gave a disapproving look as he thought of the broken Captain. "Yes, actually. It was taken up to me to levitate him up the stairs and into the dormitory. Otherwise, he would still be here being mistaken for a doormat. Very irresponsible if you ask me. Quidditch is just a game, it's his last year there are much more import-"
Percy stopped his monologue as soon as he looked back to see the deadly glare he was being given. The number one thing not to do in front of a Quidditch fanatic, don't insult the game.
"You know what... I have to study. By Gwen, have a nice day."
Gwen let out a chuckle as Percy quickly scurried away from her.
That Sunday there were barely any people in the Common Room. People were probably still upset about the game. What's worse is that that morning the rain clouds decided to clear away.
The Gryffindors took it as them being unlucky, Gwen was even woken up to the sound of Angelina yelling that they were cursed.
It apparently took just one look out of the window for her to have a breakdown.
The first thing on Gwen's agenda of the week was to go to the hospital wing and check on the fallen seeker.
The silence in the hospital wing was deafening when Gwen entered. She noticed that Harry was the only one present. He was seated on his bed with a book in his hands clearly bored out of his mind.
Gwen saw that the bedside table was filled with various treats, flowers and cards which made Gwen feel bad that she didn't bring anything with her.
"Hey," Gwen said with a smile. Harry immediately dropped his book and smiled when he saw Gwen.
Gwen looked at all the gifts Harry had and pointed at them. "I did not bring you anything but I'll give you something the next time I'll see you. What I do have with me this time are a bright smile and a positive attitude."
"There's no need for anything. I'm happy with the fact that I have company." Harry replied. Harry grabbed a box of chocolates and offered some to Gwen who gladly accepted one.
Gwen then walked to the windows and opened the curtains which were currently closed. Rays of sunshine instantly passed through, bringing life to the depressing atmosphere of the wing.
"It's such a shame that the sun came out a day too late, but at least it's here and we should take advantage of that."
The chaser placed the vase of daisies in a sunny spot before sitting next to Harry.
"I'm sorry," Harry said. Gwen furrowed her eyebrows. "What for?"
"For the game, I feel as if I let all of you down." Gwen shook her head and grabbed Harry's hand. No one should feel bad for their loss, they had done their best in a bad situation.
"No, no, no. Harry, you didn't let anyone of us down. Yes, we are a bit upset but there isn't anyone here that blames it on you. Plus, it could have happened to anyone, we were all caught up in that storm." Gwen tried her very best to reassure Harry but it was clear that it didn't work into making him feel any better.
"It's not because of the storm, it's because of the dementors," Harry explained. Gwen could very much see the fear in his green eyes.
"Oh. Well, we can't really blame that on you either Harry." Gwen continued.
"It's my fault, I'm the only one who gets affected the most. I just feel so weak." He replied.
Gwen sighed. "That's no way near true. You're not weak, if anything you are very strong. No one has been through what you have yet here you are. You didn't let the past get to you if anything you embraced the facts and you became stronger just because of them."
Harry nodded his head but she could tell that he was not convinced. "I could always try to teach you the spell to ward off the dementors but even I can't do it. Have you asked Professor Lupin for help?" Gwen asked as she took another one of the chocolates.
Harry simply shook his head no. "Well, I think if the dementors are affecting you that much then you should. Prevention is better than cure. In the meantime, don't think about dementors too much because that can get depressing, try to take your mind off of it. There's a trip to Hogsmeade next weekend, you should go."
Harry's face dropped even more. "I can't. I blew up my aunt, remember?" Gwen's face turned into one of instant regret as soon as she remembered that Harry could not go to the magical village.
But then an idea went through the jumbled up mind of hers and shot right up from her seat.
Harry was so surprised that he almost dropped the can of chocolates. "I have an idea! I'm sorry, but I have to go! Get well soon, Harry!" She exclaimed as she ran out of the Hospital Wing.
Gwen didn't stop running until she arrived at the Gryffindor tower. She may have fallen a couple of times but this couldn't wait. Gwen kept going up to the boy's dorms and barged into the fifth year boys' room.
Gwen noticed that the twins and Lee were still in bed. Gwen let out a loud whistle and started to clap her hands loudly for them to wake up.
"GET UP YOU LAZY ARSES! A TEAM MEETING IS ABOUT TO COMMENCE IN TEN MINUTES IN THE SECRET ROOM! TEAM MEETING!"
The three boys stirred up and covered their ears quickly. "Gwen, what the hell?" Lee told her through a yawn.
"I think you all heard me. Team meeting in ten minutes. Put on a shirt and meet me in the room. Chop, chop people!"
On her way out she grabbed the Marauder's Map which was lying on Fred's bedside table. Just as she opened the door a pillow flew right by her head.
"I HATE YOU!" George yelled.
Gwen gave him a fake, pitiful smile. "Aw. I hate you too!"
