Bear-san, Gives Finaâs Present, Elven Village Edition Part 1
Then Ruimin led us to the river to see the waterfall.
âA lot of water is falling.â (Fina)
âSo loud.â (Shuri)
The waterfall had a drop height of about 50 meters. (This is only a visual measurement.)
Thereâs a lot of water and a lot of noise.
âThe view from up there is beautiful, too.â (Ruimin)
âBut go up there.â (Fina)
Itâs rocky and looks like it would be challenging to climb.
âThen Iâll carry you.â (Yuna)
I quickly moved behind Fina and gave her a light foot strike. Fina lost her balance and fell to the side. I reached out to her and held her in my arms.
âYuna-oneesan!â (Fina)
Itâs a princess carry.
I could just set a bear gate up and down here, then go from it, but somehow I felt the urge to carry Fina in my arms and transport her instead.
âHold on tight.â (Yuna)
âEh, wait a minute.â (Fina)
Nope, not going to wait.
I climbed up the rocky hill with Fina in my arms. Fina was screaming in my arms, but I didnât care. It only took a few seconds. I reached the top of the waterfall.
âIâm all right now.â (Fina)
I lowered Fina to the ground, and she dropped to her knees and sat down.
âI told you to wait.â (Fina)
Fina looked a little angry, and her mouth was agape. That angry face was cute, too. Pretty girls are a blessing, arenât they? Although, if I got angry, she would be scared of me.
âIâm sorry. But these things would be less scary if you just go all out.â (Yuna)
Itâs like bungee jumping. If you hesitate to jump, you will become even more scared and miss the right moment to jump.
âNow then, Iâll go get Shuri.â (Yuna)
I jumped off and grabbed Shuri in a princess carry as well.
âIt was scary, but it was fun.â (Shuri)
Apparently, all the jumping thrilled Shuri
Then Swaying Bear and Hugging Bear climbed up after me and arrived at the top of the waterfall. We left Ruimin at the bottom of the waterfall.
âYuna-san! What about me?â (Ruimin)
Ruimin shouted from below the waterfall.
âRuimin, you can climb on your own, right?â (Yuna)
âI also want Yuna-san to carry me.â (Ruimin)
No, if you can climb it yourself, letâs climb up on your own.
However, in the end, I had to carry Ruimin as well.
I carried Ruimin up the waterfall while Fina and Shuri enjoyed the view.
âItâs beautiful.â (Fina)
âI can see miles from here.â (Yuna)
âI can see a village over there.â (Shuri)
âItâs my village.â (Ruimin)
Ruimin explained while looking at the village.
As Swaying Bear and Hugging Bear watched us from behind, Swaying Bear and Hugging Bear reacted.
Monsters?
I quickly used my detection skills and found a human response from around the tree behind me.
One thing that comes to mind.
âEtto, Labilata?â (Yuna)
I called out to the tree while remembering the name.
A few quiet moments have passed. Just as I am about to call out to him again, a tall, beautiful-looking elf emerges from behind a tree.
What emerged was the person I imagined, Sanya-sanâs fiancée, Labilata.
âI thought you wouldnât notice me this time.â (Labilata)
Apparently, he wanted revenge for the first time he noticed me following him when we first met.
âThese kids have found you out.â (Yuna)
I reached out to Swaying Bear and Hugging Bear on either side of me.
âIf the bears notice me, it means I still have a long way to go.â (Labilata)
Isnât it impossible to go completely unnoticed?
I donât think itâs possible without some special skill, like covert magic or something.
âSo, what can I do for you?â (Yuna)
âIf you were here, you guys would eventually come to this place.â (Labilata)
Apparently, weâre Labilataâs first âguestsâ.
âAre we interrupting something?â (Yuna)
Labilata shook his head.
âYouâre welcome here. Take your time.â (Labilata)
After saying that, Labilata disappeared into the forest behind him.
Weâre welcome?
I looked at Fina and the others, who were gazing at the landscape, unaware that Labilata was there.
âIt was breathtaking. Thank you, Ruimin-san.â (Fina)
âThank you, Ruimin-neechan.â (Shuri)
âIâm glad you enjoyed it.â (Ruimin)
The two were happy, and Ruimin looked elated.
âWell then, I think itâs about time to go. Grandpa should be waiting for us, so Iâll take you to the village.â (Ruimin)
Of course, I princess carried them down to the bottom of the waterfall.
I got permission this time, though.
Then we came to the village.
âYuna-san, if Swaying Bear-chan and Hugging Bear-chan are around, I think itâs going to be a big problem if the children see them, so maybe itâs better to put them back in the gloves.â (Ruimin)
Itâs certainly, as Ruimin says. Swaying Bear and Hugging Bear are popular with children.
If they get caught, I will not be able to go to Mumroot-sanâs place. I followed Ruiminâs advice and repatriated Swaying Bear and Hugging Bear.
âSee you later, Swaying Bear-chan and Hugging Bear-chan.â (Shuri)
Shuri waved her hand.
After sending back Swaying Bear and Hugging Bear, we entered the village.
Fina and Shuri were looking at the scenery of the village, which was different from both Crimonia and the capital. They made the houses of wood, and many residents were beautiful men and women.
Because theyâre elves.
As I was heading to Mumroot-sanâs house, I saw three girls playing in front of me.
âOh, bear-oneechan!â
One of the girls noticed.
When one of them reacted, the others noticed and came to me.
âHello.â (Yuna)
âââHello.âââ
When I greeted the girls, they greeted me back.
âWhat about the black bear and the white bear?â
The girls ask for Swaying Bear and Hugging Bear.
U~u, Iâm in trouble. Even without Swaying Bear and Hugging Bear, Iâm still caught.
As I was wondering what to do, Ruimin helped me out.
âYuna-san will go to Grandpaâs place right now, so donât trouble her.â (Ruimin)
âOsa?â
âYes, Iâm going to show her to the village chief right now. Besides, itâs about time for lunch. Go back to your homes.â (Ruimin)
Ruimin spoke to the children in a big sisterly manner. With Ruiminâs persuasion, the girls obediently return home.
Iâm glad it didnât turn out to be a big deal.
âRuimin, thank you. Youâre the granddaughter of the chief. Are you going to be the next chief?â (Yuna)
âI wonât be the chief. The chief will be my older sister or my younger brother Lucca. When I grow up, I want to go to many places like my sister.â (Ruimin)
Did her wanderlust resemble Mumroot-sanâs younger days? If you think about it, that would mean that Ruimin was the same as Mumroot-san. Especially Sanya-san. Bloodlines were similar, after all, werenât they?
We hurried to Mumroot-sanâs house to avoid being caught by the other children.
Because of Ruiminâs advice and the absence of Swaying Bear and Hugging Bear, we could reach Mumroot-sanâs house without much commotion.
âGrandpa! Iâve brought Yuna-san.â (Ruimin)
Without waiting for a reply, Ruimin invited us into the house, saying, âWell then, please come insideâ. We entered the house and moved to the usual room, where Mumroot-san was sitting on the carpet.
âWelcome. Iâve been waiting for you.â (Mumroot)
âIâm sorry for the unexpected visit today.â (Yuna)
âAs I said before, you are always welcome here. You can come whenever you like.â (Mumroot)
When I tried to greet him politely, he stopped me with a laugh.
Well, that makes me feel more comfortable.
âThank you.â (Yuna)n/o/vel/b//in dot c//om
I thanked him and introduced him to Fina and Shuri.
âYouâve met Fina before, right?â (Yuna)
âAh yes, from that time, it was the girl who was with the young lady.â (Mumroot)
âIâm Fina.â
âAnd this is her sister Shuri.â (Yuna)
âIâm Shuri.â
They both said their names properly.
âI am Ruiminâs grandfather, and also the chief of this village, Mumroot. Iâve heard about it from Ruimin, so take your time and enjoy the village.â (Mumroot)
As we greeted Mumroot-san, his wife, Bena-san, came over.
âYuna-chan, welcome.â (Bena)
âThank you for your kindness.â (Yuna)
After greeting, I introduce Fina and Shuri.
The two bowed slightly.
âThey both look adorable. I made you some food, so please go ahead and feast.â (Bena)
âThank you.â (Yuna)
Thanks to Bena-sanâs kindness, we decided to have lunch with them.
âIt was delicious.â (Fina)
Some kids donât like vegetables. But both Fina and Shuri werenât picky, probably because they grew up with hardships. Thatâs why theyâll eat anything they can eat normally. It makes me happy to see it. Bena-san, who prepared the food, looked delighted when she saw the two enjoying the food.
Then Bena-san went to wash the dishes.
Fina tried to help but was politely refused because she was a guest.
After confirming that Bena-san was cleaning up, I talked to Mumroot-san.
âMumroot-san, as Iâve mentioned earlier. Itâs Finaâs birthday, and Iâm planning to take her to various places. Would you like to come with us, Mumroot-san?â (Yuna)
âMe too?â (Mumroot)
Mumroot-san has a surprised expression because of the suddenness.
âAfter this, Iâm thinking of going to the royal capital, the Land of Harmony, the dwarven city, and then finally Dezerto.â (Yuna)
I plan to take her to the royal capital, the Land of Harmony, the city of the dwarves, and the city of Dezerto. I have not included the town of Mereera in the itinerary because itâs close to Crimonia. But if Fina wants to go there, Iâll include it.
I donât have any plans for that area so it can be decided freely.
âI donât know if you have acquaintances in the dwarven city, but if you want to meet someone you havenât seen in a long time, like Sanya-san in the royal capital and Kagali-san in the Land of Harmony, this would be the chance to meet them. Iâm sure they want to see you too.â (Yuna)
Besides, I promised to take you there when we talked before. Above all, I have not thanked you for what you did for me in the Land of Harmony.
âAre you sure? Wonât I get in the way?â (Mumroot)
âIf youâre worried about it, we can act separately. In the royal capital, while youâre meeting Sanya-san, weâll tour the city, and while youâre meeting Kagali-san, weâll take a walk in the city.â (Yuna)
Mumroot-san pondered my words. Mumroot-san helped me when I subjugated the Orochi. I wanted to thank him for that. Actually, it might have been better to do this separately from Finaâs birthday present, but if I go back and forth to distant towns many times, they might get suspicious of me. Moreover, when it comes to Dezerto, no one knows about the bear gate, so thatâs riskier.
âFina, is it alright with you? Mumroot-san took care of me in the Land of Harmony, so I want to take him with us.â (Yuna)
âYes, Iâm okay with it.â (Fina)
âThank you, Missy. Well then, sorry for intruding, and thank you for taking me with you.â (Mumroot)
If it were a game, the display would say, âMumroot-san has joined the partyâ. When Mumroot-san became a party member, Ruimin, who was listening to the conversation, seemed to want to become a party member too.
âI-, I also want to see Sakura-chan and Oneechan. Also, I want to see the city of Dezerto where Grandpa went to in the past. Also, I want to go to Yuna-san and Fina-chanâs town.â (Ruimin)
Of course, I have no problem with that.
âFina, is it okay to take Ruimin with us?â (Yuna)
I checked with her again, just in case.
âOf course!â (Fina)
âThanks, Fina-chan.â (Ruimin)
Ruimin took Finaâs hand and thanked her.
âBut youâll have to get permission from your parents yourself.â (Yuna)
Iâll be in trouble if I become known as a kidnapper.
âIâll go ask permission.â (Ruimin)
After Ruimin said that, she ran out of the room quickly..

Authorâs Note:
Iâve been wondering. Should we have Mumroot-san and Finna in the same story or not?
But if they go on separate days, weâll have to do it twice and lose the timing to take Mumroot-san with us.
â» As always, thanks to everyone who has been reporting typos. I am not able to reply, so I will just leave this here.
