Bear-san, Gives Finaâs Present, LudnÃk City Edition.
The day after we visited the castle in the capital, we arrived in the dwarven city of LudnÃk.
Itâs been a long time since Iâve been here in Ludnik.
I have never been here since I bought the house.
It canât be helped because I was busy.
I was busy exterminating Orochi in the Land of Harmony and eliminating the idiot in Euphalia.
âIt really is the city of Ludnik.â (Mumroot)
When I left the house, Mumroot-san looked at the cityâs scenery strangely.
âIâm going to deliver a letter to someone I know. What about you, Mumroot-san, Ruimin?â (Yuna)
âThatâs right since weâre here, Iâll take Ruimin on a tour of the city.â (Mumroot)
âIt seems that we are greeting an acquaintance, so it was decided that I would greet them as the village chiefâs granddaughter.â (Ruimin)
Ruiminâs face has an expression saying itâs a pain in the ass, but since his oldest granddaughter is that and his oldest grandson is too young, Ruimin has to do her best. Still, am I the only one who feels uneasy?
Well, people experience many things as they grow up. For now, letâs watch over Ruimin with warm eyes.
And so, I walk through the city with Fina and Shuri.
âYuna-oneechan, where are we? There are so many little people.â (Shuri)
Shuri said while looking around.
Come to think of it; this was Shuriâs first time here.
There are ordinary people like us, but there are mostly dwarves around.
And as we looked at the dwarves, the dwarves looked at us. Or rather, me, to be precise.
âItâs a bear~â âA bear?â
Coming to a city I rarely visit, the bearâs outfit stands out and attracts attention.
Wherever I go, the bear equipment seems to stand out.
âThis is the city of Dwarves. Etto, this is the hometown of Gazal-san and Rikka-san, the blacksmiths you met in the royal capital. And Gordo-san and Nert-san in Crimonia?â (Yuna)
âI see.â (Shuri)
Shuri looks around with sparkling eyes.
âYou canât run anywhere on your own.â (Fina)
âI wonât run~â (Shuri)
âShuri, donât ever let go of my hand, okay?â (Fina)
Fina is holding Shuriâs hand.
Looking at them like this, they are close.
âIâm not going anywhere on my own~â (Shuri)
But Shuri seems to be dissatisfied.
âIs there anywhere you would like to go, Fina?â (Yuna)
âI would like to buy some pots, pans, and cooking utensils when we go to Rojina-sanâs place. Anzu-san and Morin-san have asked me before to get some for them if I had a chance to get back here.â (Fina)
âWeâll go to Rojina-sanâs place, but thatâs not a wish, Fina. It was supposed to be your birthday present.â (Yuna)
âIn that case, I want to see the scenery from up there again.â (Fina)
Fina pointed upwards.
Thatâs where the gate of trials is.
âThe elven village, the castle in the capital, they all had nice views from above.â (Fina)
She likes the view from a high place.
She never gets tired of seeing the beautiful scenery, no matter how often she sees it.
âThen weâll go after we stop by Rojina-sanâs place.â (Yuna)
âYes!â (Fina)
We went to Rojina-sanâs place.
âAre?â (Yuna)
The atmosphere of the store has changed.
The last time I was here, it looked like a blacksmith shop selling cooking utensils. But now the swords are lined up.
âThey donât have any pots and pans.â (Yuna)
âThereâs none.â (Fina)
It looks like he was serious about making swords.
The sound of hitting iron can be heard from inside. He may be striking with a sword.
Itâs unfortunate, but perhaps itâs his joy returning from being a weapons artisan as he should be.
âWelcome!â
As we are looking around the store, a woman comes over.
âYuna-chan and Fina-chan?â (Wiola)
Itâs Wiola-san, Rikka-sanâs mother.
Sheâs short and pretty.
âHello, Wiola-san.â (Yuna)
When I greeted her, Fina and Shuri did the same.
âIâve never seen that little girl over there before.â (Wiola)
âThis is Shuri, Finaâs younger sister.â (Yuna)
âIâm Shuri.â
âMy name is Wiola. Nice to meet you Shuri. Do you know Rikka? Iâm Rikkaâs mother.â
âYes, I know her. I met her the other day.â (Shuri)
âThe other day?â (Wiola)
I immediately went before Shuri, and Fina covered Shuriâs mouth.
âWe met her before we left the capital.â (Yuna)
âOh, I see. Iâll serve some tea, so please tell me about Rikka.â (Wiola)
Since thereâs also the matter of the letter, Iâll take her word for it and have a cup of tea.
âSo, is she getting along with Ghazal?â (Wiola)
âFrom the looks of it, they seem to get along well. But she seemed surprised at how many people were there.â (Yuna)
âI guess there are a lot of people in the royal capital.â (Fina)
âIâve never been to the royal capitals of other countries, but compared to other cities and such, there are a lot of people in the capital.â (Wiola)
It is the capital. It has the most people.
âOh, and I have a letter for you from Rikka-san.â (Yuna)
I hold the letter in the mouth of my bear puppet and present it to Wiola-san.
âThank you.â (Wiola)
Wiola-san received it and opened the envelope to find a letter and accessories.
âWhatâs this?â (Wiola)
âRikka-san, it seems like sheâs been making accessories lately.â (Yuna)
Wiola-san happily holds the accessory in her hand. There are two, so the other one must be for Rojina-san.
Wiola-san looks at the accessories as she reads the letter.
âIâm glad to see sheâs doing well.â (Wiola)
Wiola-san folds the letter and puts it back inside the envelope with great care.
I felt guilty for separating parents and children, but Iâm glad that Rikka-san is happy and that Wiola-san seems satisfied.
âSo, Rojina-san, did he start making swords in earnest?â (Yuna)
I can still hear the sound of iron being struck from the back.
He may be hammering pots and pans, but looking at whatâs in the store, itâs more likely heâs hammering swords.
âYes, thanks to you. Iâm glad Rojina started making swords, though. But we still have a few customers looking for pots, knives, etc., so weâre in trouble.â (Wiola)
Well, indeed, the cookware made by Rojina-san is very popular in this store.
âSo, you donât sell pots and pans?â (Fina)
Fina looked disappointed.
âShall we look elsewhere then?â (Yuna)
Itâs unfortunate, but it canât be helped.
I canât ask them to make it, and we donât have the time.
Besides, other craftsmen should be good enough. Rojina-san is not the only craftsman.
âDid you perhaps come all the way here to buy those?â (Wiola)
âWeâre half traveling, half shopping, I think?â (Yuna)
I told her that we were traveling as a birthday present for Fina.
âIs that so? But donât worry. The things he made before are stored in the warehouse.â (Wiola)
âReally?â (Fina)
âIf we have a customer who wants it, we sell it.â (Wiola)
âThatâs what youâd call unsold items.â (Yuna)
âNo. The swords here and the cookware in the warehouse are all just waiting to be sold for a long time, waiting for a suitable owner.â (Wiola)
What a fancy way to describe that, but still, products that arenât selling are unsold items, right?
Well, some items are just too expensive for anyone to afford, so theyâve been left out.
We moved to the warehouse, where the unsold cookware was, just waiting for someone to use them.
âFina, you can choose whatever you want. Iâll pay for it.â (Yuna)
If theyâre using it in the store, Iâll have to pay for it with my own money.
âUnderstood.â (Fina)
Fina and Shuri gathered the cookware. Since I was going to the trouble, I decided to buy spares too.
âYep, hereâs the payment.â (Yuna)
âThank you.â (Wiola)
She gave me a discount.
Her way of thanking me wasnât by making me clear up the inventory of unsold items, was it?
Well, theyâre good products, so Iâll consider it a good purchase.
Then, as we finished shopping, the sound of iron banging stopped from the back, and Rojina-san came in.
âRojina-san. I see youâve been making swords now.â (Yuna)
âI have not yet been able to make the sword I envisioned because of the long blank period. Honestly, I would like to make a sword for you in return. If itâs okay with you, Iâd like to make a sword for you in a few years.â (Rojina)
âIâll be waiting then.â (Yuna)
I donât know what will happen in a few years, but I made a promise and left the store.
Then we went to that high place where the gate of trials was, which was Finaâs wish.
âYuna-oneechan. Are we going to climb these stairs?â (Shuri)
Shuri looks up the stairs. Iâve thought about it before, but there are many steps.
âFina, do you want me to carry you?â (Yuna)
Fina opens her mouth as if remembering something.
âItâs okay. Shuri, letâs do our best to climb on our own feet.â (Fina)
Saying so, Fina holds Shuriâs hand and climbs the stairs.
I think it would be faster to princess carry them, but alas. Well, maybe the view from the top would be more impressive and inspiring if they climbed up on their own feet.
They say that climbing a mountain on foot is different from climbing a mountain by helicopter. Well, I have never experienced either of them, so I canât compare them, but I think the former is more exciting because itâs more difficult.
We climbed the long flight of stairs one by one. Fina and Shuri both climbed the stairs with nonchalant looks on their faces. I can climb the stairs easily thanks to my bear shoes, but without them, I would never be able to climb such a staircase. I have been cooped up every day, and the two of them have been running around outside every day, so their feet have been trained to some extent.
Come to think of it, there were quite a few stairs in the capitalâs castle, but they climbed them normally.
And when we finally reached the top of the climb, there were already people ahead of us.
âAh~ Itâs Grandpa Mumroot and Ruimin-chan.â (Shuri)
When Shuri saw the two of them, she ran off.
She still seems to have the energy to run. Shuri is amazing.n/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om
âAh, Yuna-san and the sisters came too.â (Ruimin)
âBecause Fina wants to come. What about you Mumroot-san, Ruimin?â (Yuna)
âYes, I was dragged around everywhere, and finally ended up here.â (Ruimin)
Mumroot-san is looking toward the Gate of Trials.
âBy any chance, have you also participated in it, Mumroot-san?â (Yuna)
âSome of my old buddies used to participate. So I kind of miss it.â (Mumroot)
I wonder how long ago from Mumroot-sanâs past that was.
âIâve seen this view with those fellows, but it hasnât changed.â (Mumroot)
âItâs close to the elf village, so why donât you come here?â (Yuna)
I think itâs safe to say that itâs relatively close.
âThese days, I send the young ones to work with the others. It has been a long time since I left the village like this. Perhaps it would be a good idea to give the headship to my son Arthur and go on a journey.â (Mumroot)
Considering that, it seems impossible for Sanya-san, Ruimin, or her younger brother Lucca to become chief while Mumroot-san is still alive.
When I looked at Fina and the other two, they were enjoying the scenery.
âYuna-oneesan, this is amazing.â (Fina)
âThe view from the top of the castle was beautiful, but the view from here is also lovely.â (Ruimin)
Ruimin seems to be impressed.
âWhy did you want to come here, Fina?â (Ruimin)
âI saw this scenery from the top of the waterfall in the elf village and the top of the castle in the capital. Honestly, I donât think I would have been able to have such an experience. But thanks to Yuna-oneesan, I was able to experience all of it. So I wanted to see all the places I went.â (Fina)
Finaâs eyes are shining, and she looks happy.
Iâm really glad I brought her here.
âThen why donât we build a big tower in Crimonia and have a look at it?â (Yuna)
âA tower in the shape of a bear? Cliff-sama will be furious.â (Fina)
Fina laughs.
I summoned Swaying Bear and Hugging Bear, watched the scenery until we all got tired of it, then left.
