Bear-san Recalls The Other Notebook
âKuu~nâ
âEven if we change the direction, it seems to be coming this way.â (Yuna)
Swaying Bear and Hugging Bear answered as if they were taught.
âThis ainât good.â (Yuna)
We changed direction twice, but the slime kept changing direction toward us.
Itâs definitely following us.
However, the slime is slow and moves sluggishly.
âWhat are we going to do?â (Mia)
âNow itâs just a matter of getting away from it, if the distance from the slime increases, they will probably give up.â (Kagali)
âNo matter how far away we are, if it keeps chasing after usâ¦â (Mia)
âWe will be chased for the rest of our lives.â (Kagali)
âNo wayâ¦â (Mia)
I donât feel threatened since I can escape through the bear gate, but it would be terrifying for Mia and Carol.
If I had to, I could take Mia and Carol and escape together, but I wonder if I could return them to the city they reside in.
âFor the time being, I guess weâll just have to keep our distance and see if itâll keep chasing us.â (Kagali)
âBut this child canât keep runningâ¦â (Mia)
Mia caresses the horse gently.
Unlike Swaying Bear and Hugging Bear, Mia is riding an average horse. Unlike Swaying Bear and Hugging Bear, it canât keep running for too long,
I thought about putting her horse in something like the bear car I made when I went on an employee trip to Mereera, but I quickly gave up after looking at the ground.
âYuna, do you have any plans?â (Kagali)
Kagali-san asked me while I was pondering.
âI was thinking of making a carriage with magic that can carry horses in it.â (Yuna)
I made a bear carriage with ground magic that will be big enough for a horse to ride in it.
âBut the road is bad, so I think it wouldnât run properly.â (Yuna)
Even though the road is flat, itâs bumpy. If a carriage with wheels runs here, the horse in the carriage will tumble around. Of course, the same applies to people.
âBearâ¦â¦â (Carol)
âYou really like bears, donât you?â (Mia)
Carol and Mia are looking at the bear carriage in amazement.
Fina is smiling because she has seen it before.
Meanwhile, Kagali-san silently approaches the bear carriage.
âThen Yuna. If I can make it so that it runs without worrying about bumpy roads, then Swaying Bear and Hugging Bear will pull it.â (Kagali)
âKuu~nâ
Before I could reply, Swaying Bear and Hugging Bear responded in high spirits.
âBring it on, they said.â (Yuna)
Swaying Bear and Hugging Bear were okay because they werenât running fast to match Miaâs horse and had rested quite enough.
Kagali-san nodded at my words and took out a small bag from her pocket. She then pulled out a magic stone from inside the bag.
And then, she attached the magic stone to the bear carriage.
âWhat are you going to do with the magic stone?â (Yuna)
âEven though it uses a little magic, I still need some assistance.â (Kagali)
Kagali-san went around the bear carriage and attached a magic stone to the bottom of the bear carriage as well.
âThatâs about right. Mia, take the horse inside.â (Kagali)
âIn there?â (Mia)
Mia looked a little uneasy while staring at the bear carriage.
âIf you donât want to abandon your horse, just do it.â (Kagali)
âAlright, I get it.â (Mia)
The horse obeys Miaâs words and obediently walks into the bear carriage.
âI put it in. Is this okay?â (Mia)
Kagali-san checks the bear carriage and touches it. Then the bear carriage floats up. While itâs only a few centimeters above the ground, itâs still floating.
âItâs floating?â (Yuna)
âItâs a heavy lifting spell, it only lifts objects a little bit off the ground, but you should have no problem pulling it now.â (Kagali)
When Kagali-san lightly pushed the bear carriage, it moved.
âKagali-san, I didnât know you could do this kind of magic.â (Yuna)
âIâm not sure how a little girl like you can do magic! Come to think of it, you can also fly! Whatâs up with that?â (Mia)
Mia seems to have remembered that Kagali-san flew into the sky.
âNow is not the time to pursue such a thing. Is it okay if we leave late and let the horse be swallowed by the slime?â (Kagali)
Kagali-san used deception⦠Itâs super effective!
âThatâsâ¦â¦â (Mia)
âNow, get a rope from the carriage, and start moving.â (Kagali)
âHold on a second.â (Yuna)
As a test, I try to move the bear carriage in the same way as moving a golem.
The bear carriage moves forward.
âOh, it worked.â (Yuna)
I tried moving it left and right.
It moves.
I tried moving it up, but it didnât move.
âItâs not moving upwards.â (Yuna)
âItâs floating just a little above the ground, so you canât move it up or down.â (Kagali)
But it looks like itâs hovering and easy to pull.
âCome on, if you can move it, then letâs go. Once the effect of the magic stone thatâs assisting it gets depleted, it wonât float anymore.â (Kagali)
Fina, Kagali-san, and I are riding on Swaying Bear, and Mia and Carol are riding on Hugging Bear. Then, I pulled the bear carriage carrying the horse with my magic.
The bear carriage does not touch the ground, so it moves smoothly. With this, the horse riding in the bear carriage should be fine.
Swaying Bear and Hugging Bear kept running away from the slime.
******
Itâs evening.
Weâre now resting inside the bear house.
âItâs a really convenient house.â (Mia)
Mia sat down on a chair and slumped on the table.
The horse is feeding and resting in the bearâs carriage.
Iâm glad to hear that it wasnât overburdened and that it was in good spirits.
âSo, is the slime still chasing us?â (Carol)
Carol asked anxiously.
âSince weâre too far away, even these kids wouldnât know.â (Yuna)
I turn my attention slightly to Swaying Bear and Hugging Bear, who are curled up in a ball in the room, resting.
Of course, even with detection skills, they canât tell because itâs out of range.
But the slime moves so slowly that itâs quite a distance away.
âIs that so?â (Carol)
âItâs going to be okay. These bears ran incredibly fast, so the slime should be far away. If itâs that far away, the slime wonât be able to follow us.â (Mia)
Mia says optimistic words, I guess it may really be what she wishes for.
But, you know, thatâs what youâd typically call a flag.
I would like to break that flag, but this is not something I can break on my own.
âBut then again, why would there be slime in that basement?â (Carol)
âYeah, thatâs right. Even if we try to investigate, we canât go back to that town.â (Kagali)
âIt was vague in that notebook, but the research may have been about the slime.â (Carol)
When she mentioned the word notebook, it reminded me of the other notebook we found in the room where the skeletal corpse was.
âWait a minute, maybe thereâs something written in this notebook.â (Yuna)
I took out the 2nd notebook from the bear box.
âThey didnât write anything about the slime in that notebook.â (Carol)
âNo, itâs different. Itâs a totally different notebook.â (Yuna)
âWasnât it just a blank notebook?â (Mia)
âI didnât tell you earlier, but when I touched it, the letters suddenly floated.â (Yuna)
I held out the blank notebook in front, and the letters appeared on the notebookâs cover.
The title of the notebook read âActual Recordâ.
âThereâs nothing written on it.â (Mia)
Mia looks at the notebook.
âYuna-oneesan, is there something really written on it?â (Fina)
Fina is staring at the notebook.
âWell, it says âActual recordâ on the cover.â (Kagali)
Kagali-san reacted to the words written in the notebookâ¦
âI donât see it.â (Carol)
Carol said as her breasts swayed.
Apparently, only me and Kagali-san can see the words.
I remember this feeling. Itâs the same thing with Kryna-Harkâs book.
âYuna, whatâs written in it?â (Kagali)
Kagali-san urged me to open the notebook.
âIf you can see these words, it means you possess a high level of magical power.â
âHigh-level magic?â (Mia)
âIt seems that you canât read it unless your magical power is high enough. Itâs the same with Kryna-Harkâs book.â (Yuna)
Kagali-san nodded while peering in from the side.
Apparently, Kagali-san thought the same thing.
âKryna-Hark? You mean that Kryna-Hark?â (Mia)
âIâve seen a similar phenomenon before when I picked up one of Kryna-Harkâs books.â (Kagali)
âWhy would a little girl like you ever see Kryna-Harkâs book? Itâs a precious book, and thereâs no way a little girl like you can easily see it. Only a handful of people can see it, like the rich and influential peopleâ¦â (Mia)
Mia said that much and then stared at Kagali-san.
âCould it be that youâre a princess somewhere!?â (Mia)
Mia exclaimed as if she had understood something.
But she doesnât really understand anything.
âThat explains how she can fly, use magic to make that strange bear carriage float, and see the words in the notebook.â (Mia)
Nah, I donât think even a princess can do it without a talent for magic.
âThen that means, Yuna is the bodyguard and Fina is the servant who takes care of her. Now I understand why Yuna is so strong. She has to be that strong to guard the princess. And that explains why they both called the young Kagali by her honorific title.â (Mia)
Mia makes a triumphant look as if to say she guessed everything.
No, itâs not the right answer, no matter how triumphant that look youâre making.
However, Kagali-san made an expression as if she had been exposed.
âWell, now you understand. We had to hide our identities.â (Kagali)
âFufu, my eyes cannot be deceived.â (Mia)
No, you are the one being deceived here.
âEh, Kagali-chan, youâre a princess? What should I do, did I say something rude? Am I going to get killed?â (Carol)
Even Carol starts believing that Kagali-san is a princess and begins to panic.
âGetting killed?â (Mia)
Mia turns pale at Carolâs words.
âEtto, Kagali, Kagali-sama. Am I going to be killed?â (Mia)
Suddenly, Miaâs tone shifted.
Well, when you find out that the girl you thought was a commoner turned out to be a princess, you canât help but change your attitude.
Sheâs actually a fox youkai, though.
âDonât worry. I wonât have you killed. And you donât have to change your tone.â (Kagali)
âReally? You wonât kill me?â (Mia)
âI wonât.â (Kagali)
âThatâs good to hear.â (Mia)
I approached Kagali-san and talked to her in a low voice.
âIs it really okay to lie?â (Yuna)
âItâs not a lie, you know? Thereâs no one nobler than me, and Iâm even called a Fox God. In other words, Iâm a god. I can lower my social status and call myself a fox princess.â (Kagali)
âI think youâre more of a queen than a princess.â (Yuna)
When I think of her actual appearance, I feel like sheâs not a cute princess but an arrogant big-breasted queen.
