Jo's POV
I missed seeing Luke off on his date because I was busy getting ready for my own date. Dean picked me up and took me to dinner at a cute little italian place.
The night was fun. Full of talking and laughing. When it's all over I give him a kiss before sliding out of his truck. I see that Luke and Nicole beat me back.
As I walk into the diner Luke and Jess pass me, and walk outside. The door closes and Nicole and I watch them through the window.
They start arguing, and I hang my coat on the rack.
"They have amazing communication," Kirk tells nicole.
We watch as Luke smacks Jess on the back of the head.
"Do you know what's happening?" I ask her.
"I believe Jess wanted to leave us alone for about an hour," Nicole replies.
"Ah," I say with a smirk.
"Oh, sorry. I haven't gotten to meet you yet. I'm Luke's niece, Jo," I say, sticking my hand out.
"Nice to meet you," she replies.
"Same," I say.
They come back in.
"Guess I'm not going out for about an hour," Jess says.
"Say goodnight, Jess," Luke says.
"I don't understand you, man," Jess tells him.
"My mystique is part of my charm," Luke replies.
"You at least want us to take a walk around the block?" Jess asks.
"Jess," Luke says.
"I can take an extra long shower" Jess says.
"Go upstairs," Luke tells him.
"Sorry, I tried," Jess says to Nicole before heading upstairs.
Luke turns back to look at Nicole and I.
"Oh, hi. How was your date?" he asks.
"Good. How about you?" I ask.
"Good. It was good too. Oh, have you two, uh-" he gestures towards Nicole.
"We covered the introductions. Don't worry," I tell him.
"Ok, good," he says.
"Well, I'll let you two enjoy the rest of your evening. I'll just go deal with my lovely twin brother," I say, heading for the stairs.
"Goodnight, Jo," Luke says.
"Goodnight, Luke. Goodbye, Nicole," I say.
"Bye, Jo. Nice meeting you," she replies.

Friday Jess went to dinner at Rory's grandparent's house. The same afternoon and evening Dean and I hung out. After school we went to his house and did homework.
I even hung out with Clara for a bit. Then we wandered around town together, stopped by the bookstore for a couple hours, and closed the night by getting dinner at Al's.
I was back home and asleep before Jess got home, and I was up before him to help out in the diner before finally heading to the Dragonfly to work there a bit.
Jess comes down and Luke and I both catch Jess' black eye at the same time.
"Whoa," Luke says.
"What?" Jess asks.
"You're Petey the dog," Luke says.
"I prefer to not talk about this," Jess replies.
"Oh, is that why you snuck in last night?" Luke asks.
"I didn't sneak in. Now, could we get back to work here?" Jess asks.
"Fine. Start clearing some stuff," Luke replies.
Jess starts clearing the counter.
"So, when did you get into a fight with Dean?" Luke asks.
"It wasn't a fight with Dean," Jess and I both replied.
Jess' tone is angry and mine is confused.
"Whoa, where's that coming from. I just asked," Luke replies.
"What's with everyone making assumptions? I'm sick of it," Jess says.
"So it wasn't Dean," Luke says.
"No," Jess replies.
"Dean was with me all evening," I tell Luke.
"When did it happen? Yesterday?" Luke asks.
"Yes," Jess replies.
"You went to Rory's grandmother's yesterday, did she punch you?" Luke asks again.
"Stop," Jess says.
"Where'd you get it?" Luke asks again.
"Santa Claus," Jess replies.
"So he switched from coal, to ass beatings," I say, grabbing the coffee pot.
"So, you're not gonna tell me?" Luke asks.
"That's right," Jess says.
The phone rings and Luke answers it.
"Hello? Yeah. Hey, Rory. Hang on a sec. It's Rory," Luke says holding the phone out to Jess.
"I'm not here," Jess replies.
"What?" he asks.
"Get a clue, Colombo. I don't wanna talk," Jess says.
"You don't wanna talk to Rory?" Luke asks.
"Give me the phone," I say, sticking my hand out.
Luke hesitates and Jess tries to stop him.
"Phone. Now," I tell him.
Luke hands me the phone and then pulls Jess into the store room, leaving me to talk.
"Hey, Rory," I greet.
"Oh, hi Jo," she says.
"Hey, Dean was with me all day after school," I tell her.
"I know. I talked to him. I should have believed Jess when he said nothing happened," she says, clearly upset from what she did.
"Yeah. I already talked to the guys a while back. Things have actually been better between them," I say.
"Is Jess there?" she asks.
"I think he needs a bit more time, but you know him. He'll come around, I promise," I reply.
"Okay. Thank you, Jo," she says.
After I hang up Jess comes back out and grabs the ladle from behind the counter.
"What are you doing? Where are you going?" Luke asks him.
"I'm gonna do a little beaking of my own," Jess replies.
"I'm sorry, what?" I ask.
"Jess, not the ladle. That's a brand-new ladle. Take the baster," Luke calls after him.
Jess walks out.
"What the hell just happened?" I asked.
"Jess was attacked by a swan and now he's out for revenge," Luke says as he follows Jess out.
I just watch them leave and stand there a second.
"This family is so weird," I mumble as I get back to work, now left alone to run the diner.
--
Later that evening Jess manages to catch Rory and they make up. Which makes me happy.
But after talking to Rory the following morning I know that Jess lied to her about what really happened to his eyes.
Even though it wasn't a fight he still didn't tell her what happened to his eye. Getting laughed at by Luke made him too worried, I guess.
