With a nice heated up room, a brush of Jinae's hair from my hand.
We were building legos together on the coffee table with Haewon beside me.
Y/N - hehehe look, it's you.
Bringing up the minifigure into view to show Jinae and Haewon, they both softly laughed.
Hae - who?
Jinae - it's mama!
Y/N - that's right sweetie it is
Watching Haewon, she made a similar expression to the minifigure, Jinae's giggles echoing in the room.
Ruffling Jinae's hair, me and Haewon looked at each other. Smiles plastered across our faces before suddenly her phone went off on the table.
Hae - hm?
Grabbing it, her face lit up in shock of what she had seen from opening it.
Hae - ah! Dang it!
Jinae - mmmhm?
Y/N - what's wrong?
Hae - *sighs*
Pulling at her hair, she stood up.
Hae - sajangnim just texted me. He said to get to the building in like 30 minutes, apparently there's like a production company that wants to talk to me
Y/N - wouldn't tell you beforehand?
Hae - I don't know! I have to go and find out what it is
Y/N - that seems- stupid.
Jinae - mama are you going?
Turning around, quickly squatting down. She kissed Jinae's forehead before caressing her face
Hae - yes, I'm sorry. Work is calling me. I'll be back soon okay?
Y/N - how soon?
Hae - tomorrow if I can. You know how meetings go, you think they'd be like a couple of minutes but it turns out to be hours since it just goes into planning and everything.
Y/N - it's okay, I understand.
Hae - I'm sorry Jinae-ah
Jinae - it's okay mama!
Standing up, I stood up too, nodding at Jinae
Y/N - give me a second okay, I'm just gonna talk to her

The both of us walking to the front door, standing a bit away from her while opening the front door
Y/N - do you want me to bring you over there?
Hae - no it's okay. I'll just run to the bus. Jinae's here and you don't want to leave her alone by herself

Sighing once more, she leaned in and gave me a soft kiss.
Hae - I'm sorry about this, I don't know why I get this while in the middle of our break
Y/N - it's okay, it's fine. I still have to come in the day after tomorrow to help edit for Twice apparently

Chuckling from her compliment, we looked at each other.
Just practically like we were madly in love with each other but I still couldn't quite accept it.

Walking out, she stopped right in front of the doorway.
Looking a bit hesitant.

Shaking her head, she just softly smiled.

Waving each other off, I closed the door before locking it and walking back to Jinae, sitting down beside her.
Jinae - is mama always busy?
Y/N - yes, just like me.
Jinae - do you and mama work together?
Y/N - yes actually we do. We spend a lot of time together.
Jinae - no with me?
Y/N - oh... Jinae, munchkin. It's not your fault or anything. Me and mama work late and that's why you have gomo stay over. We just get tired and we do want to see you. I know papa isn't a good papa, but I'm trying to be.
Jinae - no papa, you're the best!
Softly smiling, her love for me was something that I cherished.
She stood up and wrapped her arms around my neck, giggling to herself.

Hugging her back, maybe I shouldn't be so hard on myself.

Cutting up some apples on the cutting board, I whistled to myself.
It's been a while since the quote on quote 'vacation' has started.
Lily and Jiwoo were already gone on their vacation from what Haewon told me, so I guess me and Jinae won't be expecting any other visitors.
Oh, and I finshed up the Lego set we were doing earlier, so that was nice.
Y/N - Jinae?
Calling for her from the kitchen, standing there I waited for her until she popped around the corner.
Grabbing a apple slice and squatted down and held it out for her
Y/N - here, apples.
Jinae - oooo!
Taking it from my hand, the slice was already in her mouth. I softly laughed.
Y/N - what do you want to do today with papa?
For a 6 year old, she was pretty smart. She took her time to eat the apple before swallowing it and walked up to me.
Jinae - I don't know?
Y/N - hm. I don't know either munchkin, can you think of anything fun?
Jinae - hmmmmmm. We go outside?
Thinking about it in my head, I've had the idea to bring her out again and for myself. Maybe a cafe would be nice or something.
Reaching my hand out, it settled on the top of her head on her hair. Where I ruffled it, making her smile.
Y/N - yeah sure munchkin, do you want hot chocolate or anything? Papa has moneeeeyy now.
Doing a funny voice, she giggled where after lifting my hand off from her hair, she just nodded.
Jinae - okay! Papa is rich!
Y/N - richie rich Jinae. Do you want to get changed? I think it's a bit cold now so remember to put on your jacket and gloves
Jinae - I won't forget!
Quickly running off, I stood back up watching her run off to her room.
Y/N - 5 years already huh?
Shaking my head, continuing to cut up the apples.
I should save them for later.
After cutting up the rest of the apples, put them aside inside of the fridge in a ziploc bag.
I made my way to my bedroom, walking over to the closet before pausing to think for a second.
Hey, I'm not going into work and I'm going out with Jinae without any worries for time or anything.
Nodding in agreement with myself, opening the closet door.
Eyeing the clothes, it ranged from my usual 'work clothes' which were hoodies on hoodies of black but different brands and had different types of bagginess to them.
Yawning from scanning from them. I just picked up one of my black hoodies and one of my favourite pairs of jeans.
Even though I am a dad, it doesn't mean I don't keep up with the trends and what. I'm still young and I'm not far off from Haewon's age anyways.
But I do know what I like and that's being comfy.
Throwing them onto the bed, quickly taking off my pyjama pants and slippers. I was already wearing socks and I had showered this morning.
Since my door was closed, I quickly turned to the bed to look at the jeans.
Y/N - so why did I spend so much on these again?
Shaking my head, it took me some time to realise.
Maybe I won't wear the hoodie.
Grabbing the jeans and putting them on, I leaned over to the edge of my bed and grabbed my belt.
Putting those on, I walked over back to my closet and took out a white dress shirt and a black tie.
Wrapped it around my body and buttoned up the shirt, before putting on the tie and tying it together.
Tucking in the shirt in my jeans and squatting down since I was still in my closet and grabbed my pair of black boots that I wear everyday.
I'm not really one for sneakers or whatever, but I will occasionally buy them for Jinae since I secretly want her friends to compliment them or what not.
Holding them with my fingers below the tongue, I walked back over to my bed and sat down. Putting them on.
It's been through hell, trust me.
Through rain and a lot of tears from scraping the sole against the ground or against sidewalks because I'm clumsy as all hell when I'm tired.
Getting those on, I finally got up and walked over to my coat hanger on my door and picked up my puffer and put it on.
Stylistic choice but eh, it's more so because I wanted an excuse.
walking back to the closet to close it, I almost forgot.
It's cold, so I'm going through my closet again. Picking up two beanies.
Two beanies with the designs of Spider-Man's eyes and web design.
One was Miles and one was Peter.
I wear the Miles one since Jinae's insisting to be Peter.
Oh to get your own daughter in superheroes, I should show her the Raimi movies when we have time.
Maybe tonight?
I've already shown her the Andrew films and the Tom Holland films and you know all the animation movies with Miles, maybe I should stop over to one of those toy stores as well. She's been asking for a Gwen figure. Or maybe that lego set-
I'm thinking too much.
Shaking my head out of it, I put on the Miles beanie first before grabbing my keys and wallet and put them in my inner jacket pocket.
Y/N - cool.
Turning off the power to my pc and everything else, I quickly walked to the door, turned off the nightstand power switches and finally got out.
Standing before me when I got out of the door was Jinae who I almost walked into, didn't notice her.
But to be fair, she's quite little given her age.

Jinae - hi papa
Waving at me, I almost shouted out of surprise causing my heart to race but it's okay. This isn't the first time.
Y/N - munchkin! I almost hit you!

Squatting down, softly chuckling to myself where she did a pout.

Ruffling her hair, she smiled as I put on the beanie for her.

Looking at her, she was wearing her puffer jacket as well. Though a bit more colourful than me, it was quite the father-daughter outfit coordination.
She's grown up so well that she's learned to pick out her own outfit, but I think that wasn't my fault more like noona's.
But anyways, I don't think they're supposed to? I think? She doesn't necessarily care about how she looks so that's great.
The horrors of puberty when she hits that age.

It's going to be hard to deal with a growing teen, feelings and everything.

Walking over to the kitchen real quick, I forgot to grab my phone from the counter.
So, grabbing it and stuffing it into my pocket. It got quiet for a moment, before I turned around and looked down to see her, her arms wide up for uppies.

Squatting down and lifting her up into my arms, I supported her with my arm where she wrapped one of her arms around my neck as I looked at her.
Y/N - come on, give papa a kiss
Kissing me on the cheek, I kissed on her nose softly laughing.

With one hand in the air fist pumping, I quickly ran through the rest of the house, turning off the lights and everything and switching before leaving.

Walking around with her holding my hand, it was a pretty chilly day like I anticipated.
It's November now and it's almost December soon.
Means I got to get my overtime pay when I get back, need to get the money for Jinae's presents and also for-

Tapping on the window, I squatted down and lifted her up so she could show me again.

Squinting my eyes to look at it, I see it in the display case where I turn my neck to her.

Y/N - how about we both get a sandwich that we can share and we'll have the cake?

Walking inside with her on my arm, we waited in line as I played with her.
Booping her nose and doing stupid games until it was time for us to order.
Ordering two sandwiches and a bit extra since I also wanted a cookie.
But the cookie was pretty big so I'd obviously share the other half with Jinae obviously.
One cup of joe and one cup of hot choco and some time waiting at a table, on its chair.
I got up to grab the tray full of our order, before putting it down on the table.
Y/N - alright, wait okay?
Jinae - okay
Holding one of the mugs containing her hot chocolate, carefully sitting it next to her on her side.
Y/N - don't touch it yet okay? Remember it's hot so blow on it.
Jinae - I know! I won't burn myself!
Y/N - good girl, alright here's the cake first, since you've been doing great in school.
Giving her the plate of her slice of cake, seeing on the side there were options for either plastic or metal utensils and not wanting her to accidentally stab herself, I went for the plastic fork though you can still stab yourself with it.
Plastic fork in hand, I nodded letting her go as I grabbed myself some sugars and milk from the side.
Putting them in the mug before stirring it with one of those wooden stirrers.
Once that was done, I kept my eye on Jinae. Raising my hand with the mug handle, taking a nice warm sip of coffee.
Y/N - ain't that nice.
Jinae - mmhm?
Y/N - it's nice, it's cold isn't it sweetie?
Jinae - very cold
Y/N - does that make you warm?
Pointing to the hot chocolate, she was sipping from. She nodded cutely.
Jinae - yep!
Smiling at her reaction, I went ahead and poured some more milk in her hot chocolate so it would get warmer faster.
The time passed by a lot more quicker than I thought, with almost thirty minutes passing by.
With her already full from the sandwich and cake and also, the hot chocolate.
I ate my side of the cookie, leaving the other half for her to eat later.
Where I kindly asked an employee to give me a takeaway container or something to put it in.
Y/N - full?

With everything set to go, I was about to get up but a vibration from my phone within my pocket stopped me.
Furrowing my eyebrows at the sudden notification that could be anything, I grabbed my phone and checked who texted

Leaning over to cover her mouth, well. Not really, I put my finger up to my lip where she turned to me

Sighing from that, I sat back down where I turned my head to look at Seulgi-noona, her eyes directly onto us.
Walking up to us with excitement in her eyes and her arms already wide open.

Going over to Jinae first, hugging her as if she didn't see her literally like two weeks ago or something like that.
Patting her head while they both laughed wholeheartedly before she looked right at me

Letting go of Jinae, she was a bit more tame when it came to me as I stood up and hugged her
Holding me by the shoulders, it felt a bit awkward.
Like an aunt holding her nephew by the shoulder, looking at them up and down to see how big they've grown.

Letting go of me, I sat back in my seat where she lifted up Jinae and put her on her lap while caressing her hair

Taking my forehead up from the table, her hand lifted off from my hair and made its way to my cheek, caressing it.

Despite any of her makeup and faces she puts on, only a select few were allowed to see her true face.
I was one of them.
Subtle eye bags hidden away and very tiny bits of acne showing through her skin that you could only tell if you were really face to face with her.
Seulgi - at the end of the day, we're still people aren't we?

At least she was the only one different other than Yerim-noona who treated me this way, actually maybe all of them too.

Me and Jinae quickly jumped up and down where I immediately calmed down noticing Seulgi-noona's reaction which was both confusion and a bit of disappointment

The excitement of both me and Jinae had her like in a chokehold. Facepalming and sighing into her palm before looking at me and her.

Quickly squatting down and lifting Jinae up into my shoulders to which she didn't even hesitate one bit, we both quickly walked in together almost forgetting Seulgi-noona was with us for a second.
To be fair, we haven't been here in ages. So this is both an exciting time for the both of us.

Looking wherever she pointed at, I followed along.
Some minutes of eyeing the sets and letting her down eventually.
Seulgi-noona took care of her to look for her own set that she wanted, while I looked at the biggest prize of all.
A set I haven't got yet but had kept tabs on when it finally released here in Korea.
My hand clutching the already big set on its side.
Mouth agape and practically salivating over it.
The X-Men X Mansion set from X-Men 97' and the OG series.
Finally in my hand and my god, it is beautiful.
The sentinel, the minifigures, the mansion itself.
Perfection.
Getting a tap on my shoulder, knocking me out of my trance to see Seulgi-noona in front of me before looking down and sat Jinae holding up a set that was a bit too big for her but it brought a smile onto my face.
Squatting down and setting the set to my side, my smile ear to ear where Jinae peeked her head out from the side.
Jinae - this papa! I want to get this!

Looking up at Seulgi-noona, she bent down to our level, looking at Jinae

Walking off to the section which I memorised of what to get her, I just hope she likes it.
Finding it and grabbing it and holding it in my hands.
I looked down to look at it, it was the flower bouquet set. I know she likes orange and it's got that orange aster flower in it so I think she would like it.
Walking back to them, handing to her, she looked at it. Smiling softly.
Seulgi - it's- pretty.
Y/N - yeah, caught my eye when we walked in. you're always nice to us when you come over so I figured, here's something for you in my way of paying it back.
Seulgi - as much as we're so much different, don't ever change will you?

Sharing a smile with each other, Jinae pulled on my jacket, making me look down

Calming down, we quickly gained our composure before ruffling Jinae's hair.

Sitting on the couch, we just came home alongside Seulgi-noona who was beside me, the both of us building the X-Mansion together.
Jinae was sleepy after everything so I brought her to bed since it was already night.
We did stay a bit more outside after the Lego store visit, with Noona buying some clothes for Jinae and me and her chatting to catch up.
Now that time had caught up to us, it was quarter past 9 and here we were snacking while building legos together.
Seulgi - hey look, I got this guy done.
Looking over to her side, she was building the sentinel which was now finished from the looks of it, prompting her to give her a nod.

Hearing a sigh from her as I put on a piece, making me look over to her.

But I didn't want to break the silence, so it took a bit until she spoke up suddenly.

Taking her head off my shoulder, feeling the pressure immediately changing. Turning my neck to look at her, she briefly smiled at me before standing up, walking over to her side.
Scratching the back of my head, leaning back into the table.
Y/N - let's finish this quickly then.

Sitting on the couch, a blanket over both of our laps. Her head on my shoulder, both of our yawns reverberating around the living room.
Y/N - man. How long have we been watching this?
Seulgi - I think- we're near the end?
Y/N - I hope. It's still pretty early.
Seulgi - it's almost eleven Y/N.
Y/N - early enough for me.

The tv was kept at a minimum level just to keep it even so Jinae wouldn't wake up. But our eyes were tired, almost closing even though we were nearing the final stretch of the movie, even with the action combined. I could just fall asleep right now.
My eyes kept focus and open as much as they could before eventually looking at noona, who looked at me.
Seulgi - what?
Y/N - nothing. I'm tired.
Seulgi - me too, do you think we should just stop it here?

Looking back at the tv, we both leaned over reaching for the remote, where I let her take it.
Watching her turn off the tv, our backs against the couch again.
Seulgi - I'm sleeping over, I'm too tired to go home by myself.

Y/N - I'm not getting up from the couch noona.
Seulgi - fine by me, good thing we changed into pyjamas already.

Seulgi - it's literally in the guest room, in the dresser. Literally five drawers are dedicated to one of us.

The both of us tucking ourselves in with the blanket closer to our chests, I felt her head lay itself on my shoulder.

Easing up on my position, I looked at her where slowly, she turned her head up to look at me.

Taking her head off my shoulder, letting me lay down on the couch prone. She followed through but laid on top of me on my chest.
Moving around to get the blanket directly on top of us and some feet shuffling to get comfortable, it took a bit before we looked at each other again.
Seulgi - is it weird that you're the only guy I'm comfortable to do this type of stuff with?
Y/N - not really, it's not weird to have guy friends nor girl friends.

Putting an arm around her, shutting my eyes.
I don't have much to think of before I go off for the night.
Days like this are much better with an empty head.
