Chapter 382 I Want this Woman âLook at this. How selfâabsorbed Leo is!â
Melanie was paying a lot of attention to them when Harlowâs sneering voice came from behind, followed by the strong smell of alcohol around him.
âHe would draw himself at home all the time! A man like this loves himself more than anything and anyone.
You better think carefully!â
âMelanie?â
When Leo heard the conversation, he quickly called out to her from the bedroom.
Melanie used this chance to avoid Harlow and walk out of the study. The people that were around Leo were already gone.
Harlow also left the study and immediately walked to Leoâs bedside. He bent over and looked at the injury on Leoâs arm. âTsk, does it hurt?â
Leo shook his head.
âNo?â
Harlow didnât let this chance to humiliate Leo slide him by. As he said that, he extended his hand and grabbed Leoâs arm right where his wound was bandaged.
âSee? your face is so pale! Youâre already sweating too. Isnât this quite painful? Ever since you were little, youâve always been putting up an act. Can you never say whatâs really inside your mind?â
Melanie personally saw how Harlow was holding Leoâs wound so tightly that blood began to seep through the bandage. Leo was in so much pain that he could only grit his teeth as he sweated, yet he didnât even let out a moan.
âI already warned you when we were little that you can forget about getting anything that I want. Have you forgotten?â Harlow only let go of Leoâs hand after he had enough, then wiped the blood on his hand on Leoâs blanke, a look of disdain on his face.
âI didnât.â
Leo didnât even dare to move.
âThatâs for the best!â Harlow said haughtily. Then, he glared at Melanie intentionally and said to him, âThen, I want this woman!â
âIâm simply admiring her. I have no other feelings for her,â Leo explained as he lowered his voice.
âWho are you trying to deceive?!â
Harlow yelled at him indignantly. âDonât think I didnât know what grandfather ordered you to do!â
Melanie tried to stay out of it, but she couldnât take it anymore and decided to help Leo.
1/2 +15 BONUS âMaster Harlow, you know your grandfather arranged everything. Master Leoâs objections wonât make a difference. If you have the time to do that now, why donât you speak with Master Joseph himself? Everything in the family requires Master Josephâs agreement, correct?â
âYouâre just a toy that grandfather has taken an interest in. What right do you have to order me around?!â
Harlow hated others by using Joseph to keep him under control. But no matter what he felt, he had to take it.
âIâm warning you, Melanie! If thereâs something that I want and I canât get it, Iâd rather have it destroyed than let someone else take it!â He cursed angrily before leaving with his hands behind his back.
âDonât worry about what Harlow said. In his eyes, the only relationship between men and women is one of seduction and manipulation. Iâm not someone like that,â Leo explained.
Melanie gave him a gentle smile and said, âWhen I saw him visiting you, I thought he cared about you, too.â
âItâs just for show.â
Leo smiled in disdain. âWhen there are outsiders, we brothers have to pretend that we love each other. You know that well.â
Melanie understood it and nodded. âAnd you can endure him so well.â
Leo let out a bitter smile. âHeâs a few years older than me, so everythingâs already been decided. Iâm already used to it.â
âYour wounds are bleeding again. Iâll ask the doctor to get it reâbandaged,â Melanie said thoughtfully.
âIâll ask for the doctor later. If the doctor comes as soon as he leaves, the others at home will cause trouble and he will be out for blood,â Leo said with his head hung low.
It was because of Harlow again that no one dared to call a doctor when they got hurt...
When Melanie saw Leo not willing to talk about Harlow anymore, she then changed the subject and said, âIt must have hurt just now, right? Thereâs sweat all over your face...â
âAh, Iâm sorry.â
Leo immediately kicked his blanket away and got up. âIâm going to wash my face. Wait for me.â
âSure.â
Leo loved cleanliness almost to the point of having mysophobia. She knew that she if she mentioned that there was sweat on his face, he would go wash it.
When she saw Leo had closed the door into the washroom, Melanie quickly unzipped her purse and put some antiâinflammatory drugs and sterile cotton swabs into the purse.
But Leo had already opened the door to the washroom and walked back out...
