Chapter 416 | Find Her Cute âOh?â
Lindaâs smile remained on her face as she looked straight into Melanieâs eyes. She asked, âDid we used to know each other?â
âI feel a sense of familiarity with you,â Melanie said, as she observed the look in Melanieâs eyes.
âHaha...â Linda laughed brightly. âTo think that I gave you that feeling. Do all beautiful women feel such affinity when they meet each other?â
âPerhaps, Ms. Yancey. Sorry for holding you back. Maybe Iâll see you again next time,â Melanie said, bidding.
her goodbye with a nod.
Linda raised her hand from the white jacket over her shoulders, and waved adorably at Melanie. âBye bye.....*
Just then, Cyrus walked over from behind and saw Melanie spacing out. Confused, he asked, âWhatâs the matter?â
âOh, nothing.â Melanie said with a shake of her head. She followed Cyrus and the rest out.
Back at the hotel, Melanie opened the door and saw cushions arranged neatly on the sofa opposite the door. She noticed that the teapot and cups on the coffee table were arranged neatly, too.
She asked sarcastically, âPresident Morgan? Are you trespassing private property again?â
Jeffrey walked out from inside and asked with narrowed eyes, âHow did you know I was here?â
âThis and that. They are all clean.â She pointed a finger at the spots she had noticed. âUnlike me, youâre a clean freak. William diligently makes sure that wherever you go, your environment is spotless.â
The corner of Jeffreyâs lips lifted. His woman was simply intelligent...
âWhy didnât you think that it was the hotel staff who cleaned the room?â he asked.
âHotel staff have all received training, and they keep to strict rules in their housekeeping. Theyâd alternate the designs of the cushions, one black and one spotted, and so on. Clearly, thatâs not so in this case... Whatâs more, Iâm very familiar with Williamâs style as a straight man. This is definitely his work,â Melanie said with certainty.
William walked out and said awkwardly, âMrs. Morgan... Youâre being too direct.....â
Jeffrey held back his laughter, and helped Melanie to her seat. William swiftly poured a cup of milk and took out a colorful basket of fruits from the kitchen that had been thoroughly washed.
âHave some.â
Jeffrey picked out a kiwi, and cut it into half. He took a spoon, stuck it in one half of the kiwi and handed it to Melanie.
Melanie took it and ate as Jeffrey watched on, as if he could vicariously taste the tangy fruit in his mouth.
âI heard about how Mr. Locke made things difficult for you at the scene,â Jeffrey said.
+15 BONOS âIâve settled things.â Melanie said without looking up, her hands still busy digging the flesh of the fruit with the spoon. This kiwi was so sweet, she didnât taste even a hint of sourness. âMs. Yancey helped me out.â
âOh yes,â Melanie said, as she looked up at Jeffrey. âI wanted Annie to help me check on Ms. Yancey, but since youâre knocking on my door, perhaps I should ask you first. Do you know about Linda Yancey and the Yanceys?â
âCan I trouble you to please consider me first when you encounter problems next time?â Jeffrey said with pursed lips, clearly concerned.
âIâve known Annie since I was a kid. What about you?â Melanie said.
Jeffreyâs tone softened and he conceded defeat. âWhat do you want to know?â
âDidnât you mention that you got someone to check out if there were other conglomerates with activities in Medonia? Lindaâs considered one. Whatâs more, sheâs a lady whoâs elegant and sharpâwitted...â
âDo you suspect that sheâs the biological mother of that boy?â Jeffrey asked.
Melanie nodded, but then shook her head. âHer voice is similar, but it sounds younger than the girlâs voice I heard. How old is Linda Yancey? I heard sheâs still unmarried?â
Jeffrey nodded and analyzed the situation for Melanie, âSheâs unmarried, and is probably over the age of 40. Based on what I can remember, the Yanceys and the Yorks donât have much interaction. The Yorks cannot compare to the Yanceys in terms of power and status. Given Lindaâs status and personality, she couldnât possibly fancy someone like Harlow York.â
âWhat kind of personality does Linda have?â Melanie asked with curiosity.
âAn absolute strong woman, mysterious and dangerous. She could have just lived a comfortable life as a rich heiress without a care in the world, but she singleâhandedly beat her brothers and is now the most highly- regarded successor of the family. She relies not just on her abilities but also trickery, to a certain extent,â Jeffrey explained.
Melanie nodded. âShe sounds domineering.â
âShe was originally named Lindsey Yancey, but she changed her name of her own accord when she was younger. On her 14th birthday celebration, she announced her name change before hundreds of guests. claiming that her original name sounded too weak,â Jeffrey added.
Melanie arched her brows. That was gutsy for a 14âyearâold girl.
âShe wouldnât help you out for no rhyme or reason.â
Right after saying so, Jeffrey instructed William to check out the relationship between Linda and Harlow. He knew Linda forcefully invested in Melanieâs two new fragrances, which worried him more so than Leoâs investment.
âYou have to keep your guard up against Linda,â Jeffrey reminded Melanie.
+15 BONOS âI find her quite cute.â
Melanie smiled as she thought about how Linda looked when they bade each other goodbye. Somehow, she found Linda amusing.
âShe said all beautiful women feel an affinity when they meet each other, and it really did feel that way.â
Jeffreyâs brows knitted tightly. âI heard that Linda likes women. Youâd better watch out!â
âHah, that works out well!â Melanie said with a bright smile. âSince the Yorks canât compare to the Yanceys in terms of power and status, Iâve lucked out!â
