Chapter 432 Master and Disciple âItâs a long story.â
Jeffrey had a mixed expression on his face as he paused and said, âWhen youâre free later, Iâll tell you the story between my parents.â
âIâm free now,â Melanie sald. She wanted to listen to it.
All she knew was that the Morgan Group had been under the control of Jeffreyâs grandfather. Only after his passing did Jeffrey Inherit his authority. Jeffreyâs grandfatherâs only son had two sons, and the oldest son was Stephenâs father. It was said that he was sickly and had been staying overseas for a long time for the sake of his health. As a result, his presence in the company was very lacking.
However, the only son of Jeffreyâs grandfather, who was also Jeffreyâs father, was almost invisible. It was said that Jeffreyâs grandfather disliked him a lot, which was why he passed the power over the family straight to his grandson, Jeffrey.
Jeffrey had never mentioned his parents to her, so Melanie was naturally very curious about it. She couldnât wait to hear more about them.
However, Jeffrey simply smiled and said, âItâs already getting late.â
âNo, itâs not.â Melanie tried her best to fight for it.
He couldnât help but scratch her nose and said, âGo to bed early. You have a long flight tonight.â
Melanie knew she couldnât get more from him tonight, and so she stopped asking and went back to bed.
She quickly fell into a deep sleep with Jeffreyâs warmth next to her.
The next day, Melanie and Annie said their goodbyes to Linda.
When Linda heard they were going back to take part in a perfume blending competition, she said. that she would visit if she had the time.
Melanie quickly waved her hands and said, âIâm grateful, Linda. But this competition is just a continuation of the last International Perfume Blending Competition started by Aiden. Itâs probably going to be a waste of your precious time.â
âOh?â
Linda raised an eyebrow and nodded. âI see. Then, I wish you luck!â
âThanks.â
+15 BONOS Once Melanie got back to Harbor City, she then quickly started preparations for the competition.
The next day, the perfumeâblending exhibition match officially started.
The core tenet of the match was minimalistic, and so the competition was also set to be very minimalistic; they would be graded on the spot, their score would be announced on the spot, and the prizes would be handed out in the evening.
The entire competition would be streamed by several TV stations from both countries. The reason they were doing this was to disallow the losers from trying to weasel their way out.
Elder Gibson knew that Melanie had thought of that as well. He was worried that she would be feeling too much pressure, and so he went backstage to cheer her up. âI trust in you. Weâll win the competition today!â
Melanie forced a smile.
Elder Gibson put his hands behind his back and said unhappily, âWhat, you think Iâm trying to lie to you?â
âYouâre trying to cheer me up.â Melanie said.
âEven if I were to cheer you up, thereâs no need for me to lie!â Elder Gibson said as he rolled his eyes. âLetâs make a bet. If the winner is not from our country, you can be my master instead!â
Melanie didnât know where his faith came from. Judging from his words, he seemed to have asked others to come help her.
But from what she understood about the industry, there werenât really any rookies that were good. at blending fragrances in a minimalistic fashion...
No matter what, she needed to confront her fears and put in all her effort.
However, what had occurred was different from what she had hoped.
She felt that something was wrong even from the first step.
Her style had been bound by the rules of the competition, making her unable to reach her full potential.
Every time a thought came into her mind, she needed to think if it would fit the competitionâs +15 BONOS the end wasnât something that even she herself was happy with.
Naturally, if she herself wasnât happy with her own creation, she wouldnât be impressing the judges. On top of that, their scoring criteria had to refer to the rules of the competition, which was why Melanieâs score was only somewhere in the upper range. She wasnât even in the top three.
The host asked Melanie. âContestant number ten, do you have any questions about your score?â
Melanie shook her head.
The host was just going to continue with the process and announce the next competitorâs scores, but Aiden couldnât help but barge in as he stood at the side. âIâm quite surprised with the score! Recently, your performance at the International Perfume Blending Competition was quite eye- catching! But why didnât you perform as well this time? Donât tell me youre getting nervous when you have the home advantage?â
âTheyâre announcing your scores next, yet youâre still worried about my mistake? Thanks,â Melanie said with a cold expression.
Aiden then said with a confident smile, âYouâre welcome, because I have absolute confidence in myself!â
With that, Aiden then extended his hand, signaling the host to announce his scores.
The host announced the scores from all the judges. Aidenâs smile became more and more wicked!
His score was unusually high!
