Chapter 23: Home Sweet Home

We come back through the portal, and Flora lands on her ass. She looks shocked and mad all in one. I missed her over-the-top dramatics.

“~What the hell was that?!~” Flora yells, looking like a child on the floor throwing a tantrum.

Julia closes the portal and looks at her daughter. She runs over to Flora and falls to her knees, crying.

“Baby!!! You’re back! You’re alive! How?” Julia says between sobs.

In an instant the library door slams open, and Zade comes flying in. He stops the moment his eyes land on Flora. He stands in shock. So many emotions flicker in his eyes.

“I’m back, bitchesssss!” Flora laughs.

Julia pops Flora across the back of her head. “Back from the dead or not, watch your mouth.” She smiles through her tears.

Zade’s eyes still locked on Flora, he moves over to her slowly, as if he is afraid she might vanish if he blinks. Flora smiles, and Zade pounces on her, picks her up off the ground, and spins her around the room.

“How are you here. Alive? I missed you so much!” Zade stumbles over his words.

Levi walks over to me and wraps his arms around my waist, and we both continue to watch the scene unfold.

“Yeah, so that bitch of a Goddess and I apparently had a miscommunication and I didn’t have to go all hero and kill myself.

“I basically just needed to prick my damn finger for Asa’s siren to come out,” Flora says sarcastically with a deadpan expression.

“Siren?!” both men say in unison.

“Yeah. So I found out my mother was an Ancient siren and all the weird stuff that has been happening to me was because I am one too,” I explain.

“I have never heard of sirens except in folklore,” Levi replies.

Zade is still squeezing the life out of Flora but manages to speak.

“That explains the shitstorm that happened when you went into heat. You had every wolf in a fifty-mile radius trying to break into the pack house.”

He chuckles at the memory.

We all agree. A few laughs go around the room, hugs are given, and welcome-backs are said. Of course Flora, in all of her rude glory, finally speaks up.

“Okay, seriously, what the ever-living fuck did she mean by ~litter~?”

Everyone goes silent, and their eyes go wide. I can’t help but to burst out laughing.

“I’m fucking serious! Litter? That means more than one, right?!”

Zade goes completely quiet and opens his mouth a few times and closes it again, unable to form words. He sets Flora down and tries to understand what’s going on.

“Oh yeah, the Goddess said Flora’s pregnant with a litter of pups. Congrats, Zade, hope you’re ready for no sleep.”

I make sure to say this with extra sass while laughing at Flora.

“Oooooo, bitchhhhhh… She’s pregnant too!” Flora yells to Levi.

At this point both men look like they are about to shit a brick. Julia, on the other hand, begins jumping up and down and runs over to Flora and rubs her belly.

Levi walks over to me and smiles from ear to ear.

“Surprise.” I giggle.

Levi immediately falls to the floor and kisses my belly.

“How do you even raise a siren wolf?” he jokes.

“I guess just like my dad did me.”

Flora slugs Zade, who is still frozen in place.

“Helloooooo, did you not hear the whole ~I’m-pregnant~ thing and we are about to have like a hundred kids?” Flora announces cockily.

Zade slowly begins to move and grabs Flora into a frenzied kiss. It’s a little too intimate, and I decide to look away.

Once they finally separate, she smiles.

“That’s the reaction I was looking for. Smart man. But seriously, can we go to the doctor so I can see how far along I am and what litter means in terms of an exact number?”

Zade just nods, and Flora says she will meet us at the pack doctor after I catch up with Levi.

For the next thirty minutes I explain what happened and what the Goddess told me about who my mother was and what I am. I explain how Julia played her part as well.

“Oh, and she did mention one more thing, Levi,” I say.

Levi arches his brow questioningly.

“It’s a girl.”

Levi’s entire face lights up, and he looks to be trying to contain some excitement.

Eventually, after many kisses and a really hard struggle not to fuck this man in this library, we separate and head to the doctor.

We enter the doctor’s office. Flora looks like she is gonna throw up, and Zade looks like the happiest man in the world.

“Four. Four pups. Not one. Not twins. Not even triplets. Quadruplets,” Flora practically whispers in shock.

I smile and run to hug her.

“You got this. You are already a no-shits-given, fierce-ass woman. If anyone can handle four kids, it’s you,” I tell Flora.

“If they are anything like me, I am so beyond fucked.” She laughs and seems to calm down a bit.

I finally go to my own appointment, and we get to see our little girl. She looks like a little alien. I can’t help but to be excited, though.

Levi is such great support and seems so happy about the news immediately. He is going to be the best dad.

We also found out that Flora and I are only a few days apart on due dates!

Later that night, Levi and I finally get to go back to our room.

We’re finally away from all the hustle and bustle of the news speeding like wildfire and the wave of pack members coming by to congratulate us and welcome Flora back.

I cannot tell you how many times I had to re-explain the whole reason she came back and about me being a siren.

I really wish I’d thought about just mind-linking the pack because now I am exhausted.

After my shower, I finally crawl into bed with Levi.

“My beautiful siren mate. Mother of my child. My better half.”

I smile at his compliments and turn to give him a kiss, and Levi wraps his arms around my hips.

“Hmmmm, I must say I love these new curves of yours.” He winks.

I feel myself pool at my core. Levi senses it as well because his eyes start to flash black and he licks his lips.

“I know better things you could do with that tongue,” I whisper seductively.

“Your wish is my command, my queen,” he says with hunger in his voice.

Levi’s eyes revert back to normal.
