It's now been 4 months since I came to the Elemental Academy and I must say I've been doing really good in mastering both my powers.
I can easily shoot long chains of fire and also create a fire barrier around me.
Just the day before yesterday I learnt how to create an extremely huge fire dragon which attacks my opponents without any of my instructions. And I learnt this on my own without any professor's help.
My offense and defence both improved exceptionally. I didn't think I could become so good in only a few months time but I did. The teachers were also confused at how I could master things so fast. But Mrs. Withersfield was really proud of me and I was even leveled up!
Oh I didn't tell you'll?
Every student here gets leveled based on how strong their power is and how well the student can control and use it.
When I first came here, just like all the new students I was level one too. But now I'm level 4! And there are 6 levels in total. Alex and Lori are still level 3 but they'll be at par with me in no time. I'm sure. Bryson, Drew and Shawn are all at level 6. I think they're the only ones in that level. But I'll be one of them too in some time! I swear to God!
I even improved my Air element a lot. I can now make whirlwinds and also fly in the air. I can cut opaque objects easily with my Air element too. I can even create a breeze enough to blow away things.
I'm still working on the flying thing though. Krystal has been really happy with me. But I'm not! She keeps telling me that I'm the same as what Shawn was in the first few months after he entered the academy. I don't want to be as good as him. I want to be better!! Ugh. I just have to work harder I guess.
But let me tell you'll one thing, it's gonna be Christmas vacation soon and I'll be heading home for a few days! I'm so glad I'll be able to see my parents again. I'm dying to see them!
"Mel!! Are you ready?! We need to leave now!" Lori yelled from outside.
"Ya ya. I'm coming!" I said and grabbed my bag filled with books.
We headed straight to the main hall for breakfast. Oh yeah. I don't wear my hoodie anymore. Well not since that day. When Shawn told me that I shouldn't hide my hair from anyone.
I don't know why I listened to HIM and not Alex!! But it just felt wrong to wear it after that day. I was even teased by Alex and Lori to no end. I remember it so clearly.
Flashback
After we parted from the boys, we headed to our room first since we were not all that hungry.
I was currently in my room with my hand on my heart, wondering why Shawn said something like that. I had removed my hoodie and kept it on my bed.
A few minutes later Alex called out to me.
"Mel, we should go for dinner now or else it would get too late." She said.
"I'll be there in a second!" I said and quickly washed my face and put on some lip gloss. I brushed my hair a bit and tied it in a side ponytail before going out of my room.
Alex and Lori looked at me confused.
"What?" I asked.
"You aren't wearing you're hoodie?" Alex asked.
"Nah. Didn't feel like it." I said, lying.
They looked at each other and smirked.
"Are you sure? Or is it because someone told you not to wear it?" Alex asked. My eyes widened.
"H - How do you'll know that?" I asked.
"Our ears are always open, honey." Lori said grinning at me.
"Well whatever. Let's go now. I'm starving." I said and proceeded to the door.
"I know what will kill this hunger of yours." Alex said.
"What will?" I asked genuinely curious.
"A kiss from your ice prince. Shawn Fraser. The one and only." She said. I blushed a deep red. Maybe even darker than the colour of my red streaks.
"S - Shut up!!" I shouted.
"Someone's got a crush. Someone's got a crush..." They said. I just face palmed and sighed.
"Melanie and Shawn sitting under a tree, K - I - S - S - I - N - G!!"Â They sang all the way to the main hall. Thankfully there was no one there except for us.
I sighed in relief when we finally reached the main hall. But it all vanished in thin air when I saw who was sitting on the table just beside our regular one. And there was no one in the hall except for the six of us. I hope they didn't hear any of the shit these girls were saying.
Bryson saw us and waved at us enthusiastically.
"Hey guys!! Come join us!!" He shouted. The other 2 (well actually only Drew) looked at us because of how much noise Bryson was making. Drew smiled at us. Especially Lori. Bryson just kept waving at Alex with a goofy smile on his face while Shawn.........
...........he just continued to eat his dinner. I frowned. He didn't even spare me a glance!!
We just walked to towards them and took a seat on the table beside them. Alex and Lori were poking me in the ribs teasingly all the while. It took all my willpower not to blush in front of them.
When I sat down that's when Shawn notices me.
"Good. You're not wearing that disgusting hoodie of yours anymore." He said. I narrowed my eyes at him.
"Excuse me?! Disgusting?! How dare you call my hoodie disgusting?!" I asked.
"It's a free country. I can say whatever I want." He said and kept eating his food. I growled slightly. He looked at me with a small smirk.
"So Shawn, you were the one who told Mel to remove that hoodie of hers?" Lori asked. I looked at her with a look that said 'say-one-more-thing-and-you're-dead'. But she full on ignored me and looked at Shawn.
"Ya. So?" He asked.
"It's interesting to say that she listened to you and never listened to us about removing her hoodie." She said. As she was sitting directly in front of me, I kicked her on her shin. She cringed but didn't dare make a sound.
I smiled at her sweetly. "Lori, Alex I think we should go and get our dinner, what say?" I asked sweetness dripping from every word of mine.
Lori nodded quickly, now scared if me.
"Come on Alex, let's go." She said and they both got up from their seats. I made sure they saw my deadly glare.
End of Flashback
After that they continued teasing me but not as much as that time.
We walked to the main hall for breakfast.
We met up with Jeanette, Sophia and Chelsea there. Since they were in a bit of hurry they left quickly.
We three just sat there talking when I felt the chair beside me being pulled out. I looked up and saw Shawn taking a seat beside me. I felt the eyes of every student in the hall on our table. I don't feel awkward now though. I got used to it. I raised an eyebrow at him.
"What are you doing here?" I asked.
"Killing myself. What do you think I'll be here for?" He asked sarcastically.
I huffed. "I know that. But why here? This is our table." I said.
"Really? But I don't see your name written here." He said. I just glared at him and ate my food quietly.
"You know, you and Shawn fight like an old married couple! Who knows, that may be the case in few years time!" Bryson said. We glared at him.
"Shut up!" We said. We then glared at each other again.
"Stop copying me!!"
"I said stop!!"
"I said stop imitating me!!" We shouted simultaneously but we stopped when we heard someone laughing. Well not just someone; everybody. Even the teachers. Some were giggling, some were full on laughing while some were trying not to laugh.
I looked down in embarrassment. Shawn just clicked his tongue in annoyance. I glared at him slightly before we both continued to eat our breakfast.
I saw Lori and Alex wiggling their eyebrows at me. I glared at them too.
"See! You'll even mimic each other! I'm always right!" Bryson said laughing.
"You wanna get burned badly?" I asked lighting up my fist with a bright flame.
"Or wanna be freezed forever?" Shawn asked, a slight snowstorm forming in his hand.
"Um...I'll pass. I rather be buried down by Alex with her hands on me." He said smirking at Alex. Alex just punched him in his face. I laughed. These two are so cute!
We all soon had to leave for our classes and I had Elemental history with Alex. We told the others bye and left.
Sir Richard was telling us about the first person who acquired the Air element today. It was quite interesting. Well it's always interesting.
Suddenly a voice resounded through the speaker. It was Mrs. Withersfield.
Guess she's making an announcement.
"Sorry for the interruption but I would like Alexia Horton, Lorraine Caister, Melanie Grace, Shawn Fraser, Bryson Simmons and Drew Murphy to come to my office right now. Please hurry up." She said. I raised an eyebrow and looked at Alex. She looked confused too. The rest of the class was staring at us, even Sir Richard.
"Well, you heard the headmaster. Ms. Grace and Ms. Horton, you'll may leave." He said. We nodded and thanked him before leaving.
We met up with Lori on the way and she was as clueless as us.
We soon reached the office and walked in as it was open. We closed the door behind us. I saw the three guys sitting on the chairs in front of Mrs. Withersfield's desk.
"You called, madam?" I asked.
"Yes girls. Take a seat." She gestured towards the couch and we made ourselves comfortable on it.
We looked at her wanting her to spill the news.
Suddenly the door opened and in came Mr. Stephenson, Mrs. Esparza and Krystal. Why are they here?

I looked over at Mrs. Withersfield and nodded. But it's a bit creepy to hear someone's voice in your mind without any pre notice.

Oh! It's fine ma'am! Really. I just smiled at her.
"So we called you here for a specific reason. The guys already know what the reason is as they've been called like this before too." She started.
"Well...you'll six will be going on a training camp!" She said.
What?....A camp??
