Ava POV
All of us were sitting in the TV room, waiting patiently for the girl, who was drinking tea prepared by Mom, to tell us everything about the rogue vampires.
"So let me get this straight; you are the top of the hierarchy vampires, and these are hunters, and both of you have become a team to kill the rogues who are hurting humans," she said. All of us nodded our heads.
"So, I know now is not the right time to ask, but can you tell us why they are killing humans and adopting girls?" I asked her, with eagerness. All of us are so close to knowing their motives behind the kidnapping and killings.
"IâI don't know much, but all I heard is that they are planning to make this whole town into vampires."
"How?" Theo urged her.
"Umm, well, they are forcing us girls toâ to," she stopped herself, taking a deep breath in. I got closer to her, taking her hand in mine to calm her. "It's okay; just tell us. I assure you nothing will happen to you, and they will die."
"They, they forced us to have intercourse with men so that we get pregnant, and then they kill the men, and thenâthen after that, they make us drink vampire blood so that it stays in our system for the whole 9 months, and then when the babies are born, they kill us and the babies so we become vampires."
"WHAT!" everyone screamed in shock. What type of inhumane thought is that killing innocent humans.
"This is going out of hand; we need to stop them before they kill more innocents," Dad said, but something wasn't adding up; hearing the girl's heart rate increasing, I felt that she is hiding something more, which she is scared to speak up about.
"You are hiding something," I said, making the girl's body stiff and removing her hands from my hold. Her hands weren't warm enough. My eyes widened when the realization hit me.
"I need to go to my parents," she said hurriedly and stood up, going towards the door, but I blocked her using my speed.
"You are in transition of being a vampire; you have vampire blood in your system."
Olivia's POV
What the actual fuck! A vampire; she is a vampire.
"Is it true?" Mrs. Lopez asked her. The girl just nodded her head. Everybody sighed in the room. "Dammit, but how, you were human when I saved you. I knew it." Ava asked her genuinely confused.
"They had poisoned my drink before that incident, and when you brought me to your house and I went to take rest, I guess I died during that. I am not sure; when I woke up, I found out."
"Listen, you cannot go home; you are in transition, chances are high of you hurting someone because of your craving blood. You need help; we can help you. All your senses will be high in the next 1 hour. I can help you; we can help you. Please let us help you," Ava said genuinely pleading her.
Why is she pleading her? First, the handhold. What was the need to hold her hand? I understand the girl is scared; I mean she just got to know that she is or will be a vampire.
"Right everyone," my Dad said, standing beside Ava, consoling the girl. What in the world is her name?
"Liv," Andrea nudged me on my arm.
"Mmh, yeah."
"Where is your mind, Liv?" Mom questioned walking towards me. "Nothing, just thinking about the rogues."
"Don't stress too much about it; I am sure we will find a way." Mr. Lopez said. I nodded my head, sending a smile towards him and looked ahead to find the human, or should I say transitioning vampire girl, and Ava talking and smiling. Yeah, so it's good the girl is feeling safe; she has been through a lot already.
Don't be an ass Liv.
"We have to discuss one thing; we are running out of rooms in this house," Mrs. Lopez said, but Ava, she was quick to answer it. "Ma, she can share the room with me. Anyways, I have to help her out with her blood craving and how to control it." My eyes widened up when I heard her say it.
Sharing a room. IâNo words...
I looked to my side, seeing Andrea looking at me; I just smiled. What is the issue there? The girl needs help, and she is new and doesn't know how to handle it, and Ava is very helpful; she helps everyone she can if she gets a chance. That is one thing I like about her.
"I need to go to the station; just remembered I have some files to finish."
"But Liv, it's dinner time," Liam said. "I know Liam; I will have food at the station. Bye, guys."
I said walking out of the house. Be calm. Be calm. Be calm. I chanted these words as a mantra for me to calm my heartbeat and the tears, which are at the brink to fall from my eyes.
Why, though? Why am I feeling the need to cry when nothing wrong happened?
