Sira Pov
After putting our suitcases in our respective rooms, we all sat in the living room, the kids sleeping with Ben. They got along pretty well. Although I seriously couldn't believe that I am in a room with the Elder, OG Vampire. God, my life couldn't get any better.
"I heard your plan. I would say that I am opposed to the idea, but Ava has a way to convince me," Mr. Lopez said.
"More like his favorite child and his princess who he cannot say no to at all," Ava's brother Theo remarked, and everyone chuckled.
I couldn't believe my eyes. I would be sitting in a room full of Vampires and Hunters, but here I am. I kept on looking at Lydia. She seemed stressed about something, even though I might have a hunch on what that is. I grabbed her palm in my hands and squeezed tightly. I didn't like seeing Lydia stressed.
I stood up, taking hold of Lydia's hand, making her stand too. "Me and Lydia are going to the backyard for a walk," I announced.
"Walk or to make out?" Jack teased, and everyone laughed. I shot a glare towards him.
"If I want to kiss my wife, I can kiss her anytime I want. I don't have to sneak out. We just want to walk," I retorted. Jack raised his hands in surrender.
"Ignore him, Sira," Olive said, slapping Jack on his back. "You guys go ahead," she said, smiling sweetly.
I smiled back at her and walked out with Lydia behind me. Stepping out and closing the door behind us, I took Lydia a little further and stooped to look at her. I cupped her face, making her look at me. "What happened?" I asked her, caressing her cheeks.
"Why do you think something happened?" she asked back.
"Lydia, your face is clearly saying you are too stressed about something. Come on, tell me what it is," I insisted.
She sighed, and tears started to well up in her eyes. My heart clenched at the sight. I pulled her towards me and hugged her tight. "Baby, please tell me what is wrong. Did I do something?"
"I am scared for tomorrow," she said, her voice cracking.
I kissed the top of her head. "Why are you scared?" I asked her.
"I don't want to lose you or anyone," she confessed.
"You won't lose anyone or me." I assured her. She pulled back, wiping her tears harshly.
"You don't know that. They are Vampires, Sira, not humans that you can just straight up shoot them," she argued.
"Technically, we can. Remember, Andrea gave us vervain bullets," I interjected. She slapped my chest, and her tears started to stream down again.
"I swear to god, Sira, if I had an option to not let you go, I would choose that. But I know you like saving lives. Fuck that, I just gave a big speech to Olivia because she was scared for Ava but I told her Ava is a vampire herself and she will be there with her there, but you are not Ava or am I going to be there to protect you, Sira. You are human, defenseless."
"Let me remind you that when I was in high school, I was part of an FBI trying to save my teacher from an asshole, and also that teacher I saved turned out to be my wife who is standing right here in front of me," I said, wiping her tears and kissing her lips softly. I pulled her close to me and kissed her forehead.
"Promise me," Lydia said, looking at me intently.
I hesitated. I would have given her the promise if I was sure as 100 percent that I would come back to her, but this time I wasn't sure, and I didn't want to fake promise her. "Lydia, IâI don'tâ"
"No, no, no. You promise me right now that you and others will come back, otherwise, I am being serious, I won't let you or anyone go," she interrupted me, her voice firm.
"I promise you that not only she but all of us will come back to our family, Lydia," I heard Aiden's voice. We looked at the door to see everyone standing there.
"You better not break your promise, Aiden. I don't like people who break their promises," Lydia warned him.
Aiden, Lila, Jack, Olive, Diana, Sarah, Noah, Jerry, Steven, and Jacob were beside us in seconds.
"I don't want to lose any of you guys," I admitted, feeling the gravity of the situation. This was a family moment going on. Everyone was either crying or having tears, but Jerry and Olive were full-on bawling their eyes out, probably because they were pregnant, and their emotions were heightened. But I had tears too in my eyes.
"Guys, you all better come back, because after this case, I am this close to making all of you leave your jobs and start selling hot dogs. I am tired of crying or being tense every time all of you go out," Lila said, hugging Aiden from the side tightly.
"True, and me and Olive are pregnant. Who will massage our necks and feet if you guys aren't even present?" Jerry said.
"Is that what we are for, babe?" Noah asked.
"Of course, you men are and always will be slaves for your wives. It's the 21st century," Sarah said, holding Diana closely to her.
"Well, I am not a slave because I have a husband," Steven said. Jacob pulled back to look at him.
"What are you? You think I would willingly want to put my delicate hands in the washroom to clean it?" Jacob joked, and everyone laughed.
This was a moment all of us were sharing as a family who is concerned about tommorow but trying to ignore it. I looked at Lydia; her smile was back, even though her cheeks and nose were red from crying and the cold. I took off my blazer and walked behind her, draping my blazer on her shoulder and wrapping my arms around her midriff, holding her as tight and as close as possible. She looked over her shoulder, and I took this opportunity to kiss her. I will come back for my wife and family.
Ava's POV
I was in my room while Chloe was out, I don't know where, probably in the kitchen eating because she is hungry all the time. Sometimes I do wonder where the hell does she store all the food she eat, I am not body shaming her but she is fucking small.
Coming out of my bathroom, I walked outside to the balcony to enjoy the moon and the silence. Closing my eyes and feeling the cold winds touch my face made me feel at peace. Hearing someone enter the room, I opened my eyes, but smelling her scent, I relaxed and stayed in my position. In seconds, she was standing beside me, but didn't utter a word; maybe she liked the silence.
"Tomorrow is an important day, isn't it?" she said. I turned to look at her, to find her already staring at me. I nodded my head.
"Theo and James are already in the basement, filling up the bullets with vervain and making wooden stakes. While Mom, Dad and your parents are trying to take out any information we get from Georgia," she said. Georgia fucking bitch she was, tried killing Olivia in front of me.
"I am sure you didn't come here just to give me updates on what everyone is doing," I said, smirking at her. I was taken by surprise when she pulled me towards her and hugged me tight.
"I just got you, and I am not ready if anything happens to you," I sighed onto her shoulder, closing my arms around her tightly so no space was left.
"Tomorrow is going to be easy. We barge in, kill Vamps, save the girls, and hip hip hurray. We come back, have a happy meal, celebrate the new year, and then I will take you out on dates," I said, whispering in her ear. Her chuckling caused her whole body to vibrate, and her breath tickled my ear.
"I wish it was that easy as you make it seem. But you and I both know it's not." She pulled back and cupped my cheeks.
"I love you, Ava Lopez, and I will do everything in my power to prevent anything from harming you," she said, kissing me on my lips gently, making me smile.
"Fuck, that was a good line. Now what should I say?" I said, pulling back with a smirk on my face.
"You don't need to say anything. Just do me a favor and try not to hurt yourself in the process of saving others. The rest, leave it up to me," she said, caressing my cheeks gently.
I raised my hands and saluted her. "Aye aye, ma'am," I said, and she laughed, her head falling back and then forwards. She brought my forehead closer to hers, touching it.
"I cannot believe this," she whispered so softly and gently. I cupped her cheeks too, warm enough for me to feel it throughout my whole body.
"I cannot believe this either," I said, pulling her in for one more kiss.
