Andrea's POV
"What will you kids have for dinner?" Mrs. Lopez asked.
"I don't think any of us have any appetite when they are out there," Lydia said, walking downstairs.
"Are the kids asleep?" She nodded her head and took the empty seat beside me.
"How are you holding up?" I asked.
Lydia sighed. "I don't know, to be honest. I am very scared, and I just want them to come back as soon as possible."
"You kids don't need to be scared and stressed out," Mr. Miller said, walking into the living room, with Mr. Lopez agreeing with him.
"And most importantly, don't starve yourselves, especially Jerry and Olive. Both of you have kids growing in your body. It's not good for either of you to not eat," Mrs. Miller said, getting up from the sofa, with Mrs. Lopez following her.
"We will only take a maximum of 20 minutes to cook dinner. I expect all of you to be there," Lydia and Lila stood up.
"Let us help you." Both of them said.
"Nonsense, sit your asses down and let us do our work," Mrs. Lopez said, and both of them walked towards the kitchen.
"That woman scares the shit out of me sometimes," Sarah muttered, all of us in the living room chuckled.
"I support you on that," Mr. Lopez said in a whisper-like voice, hoping his wife didn't hear it.
"I heard that," we heard Mrs. Lopez's voice from the kitchen.
"I love you, honey!" he screamed back at her.
God, to say that he is the Elder vampire, he is still scared of his wife.
A loud crying and screaming voice made all of us alert and stand up. Lydia and Sarah ran and made a beeline towards the stairs but were stopped by Mr. Lopez.
"Wait, Lydia."
"Honey, someone's here," Mrs. Lopez walked in with a worried look, with Mrs. Miller behind her.
"What do you mean someone's here?" Lila asked with a worried tone.
"I smell an unknown vampire scent." At that, everyone's face turned pale. Vampires and kids were crying.
Without thinking, Lydia ran upstairs followed by Sarah, Lila. I and Mrs. Miller tried to stop them, but it didn't work. Nearing by, bursting through the open door, the view in front of us scared the shit out of me.
Chloe with the unknown vampire was holding Rose and Ben as captives in her arms while Charles and Rach were standing in front of Claire and Parker, protecting them.
"Daddy!" Parker screamed for Jacob.
"What do you want?" Lydia screamed at them.
"Let the kids go," I said, holding my gun.
"Nah, nah, Andrea, don't even think about it. You take out your gun, Ben and Claire will die." Chloe said.
"No," Lila screamed in anger, tears streaming down her cheeks.
"Mommy, I am scared," said Claire.
"Don't be scared, Claire, I am here. She will not hurt you. I promise," Rachel said.
"Oh, look at that, big sister. Then I should just kill you. How will you protect her?" Chloe said, handing Ben to the other vampire and walking towards her.
Lydia screamed no, but then in the split of a second, Rachel pulled out a wooden stick from behind her and threw it at Chloe, which was the one-second distraction we needed for Mr. and Mrs. Lopez to attack, and I shot my gun at both of them to weaken them.
Lydia, Lila, Sarah, and Jacob ran towards their kids, holding them for their dear life. I went towards Ben, picking him up, and he hugged me back tightly.
"We will take them to the basement," Mr. Lopez and Mr. Miller said, taking both of them to the basement.
I looked around; Mrs. Lopez and Mrs. Miller were trying to calm the crying mothers and father with Jerry and Olive.
"Rach, where did you get that wooden stick?" Olive asked her, making all of us turn towards her because that was a question that needed an answer.
"Mama gave it to me when she was with me, told me if anything happens use this to hurt the bad person, so I did, and I kicked her ass. Whoops," she covered her mouth and looked at Lydia. "Sorry, Mom."
Lydia just chuckled and hugged Charles and Rachel again. "I am so glad both of you are safe."
"That's one badass move, Rach," Jerry said and, the little girl just giggled.
"I think we better head downstairs," Mrs. Miller said. Everyone nodded and stood up to walk out. I looked at Ben.
"Are you okay, Ben?"
"I am scared," he whispered.
"Don't be. I am here with you." He nodded his head, but his little hands hugged my neck tighter. I just smiled and walked down with everyone.
AVA's POV
I had to think and act fast before our plans get wasted. Hearing him and the others coming closer, I waited until they saw us. This was the only plan I had in my mind at this very moment. The moment he turned around the rock and caught us, my instincts took over, and I used my speed to snap all of their heads.
"What the actual fuck," Sira said in shock. I turned my head to find a glare coming my way from Liv; my body shuddered.
"Okay, let's go and save the girls, but be quiet," I said and walked ahead. Not only 10 seconds passed, I felt myself being pulled back by none other than Liv.
"Why would you do that? You could have gotten hurt." she hissed.
"But I didn't," I said, smiling to try to lessen her foul mood, but it just worsened it more.
"Okay, okay, sorry. My instincts took over. I didn't want to miss our one and last opportunity to save the girls and kill the rogues." She sighed and intertwined our fingers.
"Just remember what I said: save others, but while doing that, protect yourself too."
"If I have to protect myself, why did I bring you here with me?" I said with a smirk.
Liv just smacked my shoulder. "Sorry, sorry."
"Are you lovebirds done there, because we need help over here." I turned around to find all of them as hostages, with Vampires holding their necks, and one man in the middle. He had black hair, tall but not too tall, more like 5'6. His head was held up high as if he was proud of something. What a fucker. Holding girls as hostages to feed on them. I felt Liv holding my hand tightly. I could hear her heart thumping fast against her chest.
"Liv, don't be scared," I whispered to her, squeezing her hand with mine.
"Yes, Liv, don't be afraid. I am not going to hurt you," he mocked.
"Why are you doing this?" I questioned.
"Doing what?" he questioned back.
I scoffed as if he din't know. "Holding teenage girls to feed on them."
He just stayed silent and smirked.
"Do you think I use them to feed on them? Then you have got all of it wrong, Miss Ava Lopez."
I was shocked to know he knows me.
"I know every single one of you: Lopez siblings, the Elders' kids, the FBI, the humans, the Millers, the hunters. I have every single detail on you, and I knew you would be coming here."
"Howâ"
"Chloe," Liv said. Hearing her say this, I was shocked, but it did make sense. Who would backstab us except her?
"Bingo," he replied with a smile.
"I knew something was up with that girl" Aiden said out loud.
"I must say you are one smart and beautiful woman," he said, his eyes roaming around Liv's body.
I felt Liv shiver under his stare and stood in front of her. "If you say one word, I will not take seconds and just snap your head."
"Ooooh, I am scared, little girl," he said.
This was going to be harder than I thought it would be.
