"The audacity of this man to kidnap teenage girls and use the men's sperm in the girls so that when they become pregnant and the babies are born, he can turn them into vampires is just disgusting," Theo said, speaking in the living room with the FBI agents.
I walked downstairs and put on my shoes. "Where are you going, Ava?" Theo asked.
"To see Liv," I replied, my back to him. "Waitâ" "No, I am going to see her to make sure she is okay. It's been three days, and all I received was a message from Andrea saying she is out of danger. That's not going to stop me from worrying about her. I need to see her," I said angrily, turning to face him.
"But wouldn't that anger Mr. Miller even more?" Sarah asked with concern. "I don't care what he thinks, I just want to see her and then I will leave." I said and ran out using my speed. I ran towards the hospital to see Liv. I know she is in the hospital because of me, but I just want to see her with my own eyes to make sure she is okay. Then I will leave if her father wishes.
Walking through the hospital door, I dashed towards the receptionist, a blonde woman in her mid-thirties. "Hi ma'am, can you tell me what room Olivia Miller is in? She was here because she was stabbed," I said hurriedly.
"And what is your relationship with her?" the receptionist asked.
"I am her wife now. Can you please tell me where she is?" I said, getting annoyed by the woman. "Go straight ahead, turn left, room 304," she replied, looking scared by my outburst. Saying a small thank you to the woman, I walked briskly to room 304, walking down the corridors. 301, 302, 303, Bingo.
Opening the door and walking in, I saw Mrs. Miller sitting on a sofa cutting apples, and Andrea sitting in a chair beside where Liv lay. She looked weak with all the machines attached to her. Her eyes were closed.
"Ava." Mrs Miller spoke, I shook my head.
"Please, Mrs. Miller, I just want to see her and then I will leave," I pleaded. She nodded and I walked towards Liv's bed. She lay there with her eyes closed, unaware of what was happening around her. Guilt started to set in. She was in this condition because of me. I grabbed her arm, leaned down, kissed her forehead, and whispered, "I am sorry." Tears welled up in my eyes, one slipping down and dropping onto her.
"She is sleeping right now," Andrea informed me. "She is doing okay, the doctor said she is out of danger. She will be home in a week." Andrea said, but all I could do was look at Liv. It had been three days of not seeing her, three days of not hearing her voice calling for me, holding me. I moved up and took hold of her hand in both of palms, closed my eyes, and focused on taking all of her pain so she wouldn't feel an ounce of it when she woke up. There was nothing else I could do. If only I had a chance to go back in time to stop it, I would, but it couldn't happen. This was the only way to help her.
"What are you doing?" Andrea questioned. "Taking all of her pain," I said, kissed our intertwined hands, and placed them back on the bed. I turned to Mrs. Miller.
"Thank youâ" I stopped mid-sentence when Mr. Miller entered the room with Liam behind him. "What the hell is she doing here?" he screamed.
"IâI came to see Liv."
"No, you can't. Get the hell out of here," he yelled.
"I am sorry I didn't want to cause any trouble, but I just wanted to see Liv."
"I said get the hellâ"
"Dad, why are you screaming?" Olivia suddenly stirred from her sleep. Her beautiful eyes opened and locked with mine. My heart did backflips. An automatic smile crept up on my face. Before I could say anything, I was being dragged out by Mr. Miller, away from Liv.
"Dad, what are you doing?"
"James, I thinkâ"
"No," he said, and threw me out of the door. "Never come near my family again," he said, slamming the door in my face.
OLIVIA POV
"Why did you do that?" I exclaimed to Dad.
"She deserves it," he replied.
"No, she doesn't," I argued.
"Liv, you got hurt because of her," he insisted.
"No," I snapped, but coughed, my body reacting to the stab wound. Dad quickly came towards me to help me up.
"Stop right there," I gasped, taking deep breaths. "I did that because I would have done the same for you, Liam, Mom, and Andrea, WHY? Because I love you all, and I love her. I promised her I would protect her, and I did. You would have done the same for Mom because you love her. I did the same for Ava because I love her."
"Livâ" Dad started, but I interrupted him.
"Dad, I understand that you were scared to see your daughter hurt. I know you were scared, but blaming Ava is not the way to deal with it. It wasn't her fault, Dad," I said firmly, holding onto his hand.
"I was scared, Liv. I didn't want to lose you. I was terrified," he stuttered, tears welling up in his eyes. "I'm sorry."
"It's okay, Dad. Now, can you please call her back? I really missed her," I said with a smile as he nodded and left the room.
He nodded his head and walked out of the room.
"Are you hungry?" Liam asked.
"Very." I replied and Mom laughed.
"Let me bring something for you." Liam said walking out.
"So, how did everything go? Did you get to know his motive?" I asked Andrea.
"Yup, his name is Damien Lance. His motive was to create an army of vampires by conducting an experiment using the semen of those men found dead in the alley, and to inject it into the young kidnapped girls so that when they become pregnant, they would turn them into vampires."
"The hell. He is a maniac, Is he dead?"
"He's dead, like all the others. I and Theo, did the work. Here's your soup," Liam said, walking towards me with a smile.
I cringed at the look of my soup.
"I don't want this, it doesn't fill me up," I said.
Liam chuckled and said, "Doing okay, Liv?"
I nodded my head.
"And the FBI?"
"They are supposed to leave tonight," Mom said and I hummed.
"How long will I stay here?"
"You will be out this week if the doctor says your health is improving. Maybe even earlier," Mom said, putting her magazine down.
"I am hungryâ"
"Sorry, I ran as fast as I could when your dad called me and I bought you your favorite sandwich too. I thought you would be hungry. I was supposed to be here within 5 minutes, but the cashier lady took time to make one simple sandwich," Ava said, walking towards me.
An automatic smile spread across my face just looking at her.
"Here you go," she said, bringing over the sliding table and placing the sandwich on it.
"Come here," I told her. She walked towards me, raising her hands to caress my cheeks, and leaned down to peck my forehead. I closed my eyes, savoring the feeling. She leaned back and looked into my eyes, whispering, "I missed you."
"I love you," I whispered back, a smile slowly appearing on her face.
"I love you too."
"I missed you too," I smiled cheekily. She let out a quiet chuckle and leaned down again to peck my cheek.
"Are you okay?" she asked with concern in her eyes.
"Now I am," I replied.
"Are you hungry?" she asked. I nodded my head.
"Very," I replied, she leaned up, pecking my lips again.
"You guys are just so cute," I heard Andrea say cheekily, smiling widely.
Just for a second, I had forgotten Mom, Liam, and Andrea were in the room, but they were and witnessed everything. Sitting up in my bed slowly, Ava was by my side in seconds, helping me up and setting a pillow behind me for support.
"Is this okay?" I hummed, quickly taking the sandwich she brought for me and taking a big bite of it. My eyes closed in satisfaction at having something tasty in my mouth instead of the inedible chicken soups and bland salads from the hospital. I moaned at the taste of it.
"Looks like she's having an orgasm," Liam said.
"More like a foodgasm." Ava said with a smirk.
"Let me enjoy my food in peace," I groaned.
"I see you brought her food," Dad said, entering the room.
"Hey, Ava, again I am sorry for allâ"
"Don't. I understand you were just worried about her," Ava said, interrupting Dad. She turned around and looked at me.
"Enjoying your sandwich?" I grinned.
"Very much."
