Wang Qing kept on thinking about the moment earlier when Dayu walked down the isle,looking as nervous as he was. He thought that he might lose that man once again but who would have guess that they actually got married. Thinking about how his status changed in a day brought a smile on his face. No one would believe what he went through,just imagine how his co-workers would react once they see the ring on his finger. The smile on his face turned into a grin. Wang Qing would occasionally glanced over at Dayu who was quietly sitting and staring outside, probably tired from organizing such an event by himself.They soon arrived at their apartments area.
"Ah..I can't even apply for a day off tomorrow" sighed Wang Qing as they walked from the parking lot. The sky turned dark as the sun slowly set. Dayu stole a glance over his husband and smiled.
"Why do you need a day off?" asked Dayu,as if he had no clue on what could be running on Wang Qing's mind. They both stopped in front of the elevator,waiting for it to came down.
"Our honeymoon of course.We are now married couple and honeymoon is a must!" emphasized Wang Qing,causing Dayu to bust into a loud laughter. Wang Qing raised his brows,not expecting that kind of reaction from Dayu.
"There's so much more to think of now that we are married,don't you think so?" questioned Dayu as they got into the elevator.
Wang Qing took a glance at Dayu and tapped his chin with his finger. It was indeed true,their lifestyle won't be the same anymore.Along the way up to his apartment floor Wang Qing was occupied with his future plan.
"Are you not getting out?" questioned Dayu while staring at seemly dazed Wang Qing in front of the opened elevator door.
"Sorry" said Wang Qing as he quickly walked out."Right!It would be weird staying at two different apartments.Why don't you move your things here?" suggested Wang Qing.
"Ah right!I forgot about my apartment!" Dayu blinked his eyes repeatedly before letting out a small chuckle."Guess i am getting used to think that this is my house too" he added.
"Then let's head back to your apartment and move few things here" said Wang Qing in slightly high pitched voice,as if he was eager to start living together with his beloved lover.
"No no,you go ahead and take some rest.I will head back and take few of my personal belongings.We can move other things little by little tomorrow or on the weekend."
Wang Qing was slightly disappointed with the answer.He wanted to be someone Dayu can depend on.He's aware of Dayu being a man but sometimes he wishes to do more things together for Dayu's own safety. Dayu immediately noticed the changed expression on Wang Qing's face. He stretched his hand,grabbing Wang Qing's arm as he shuffled closer.
"I will only go for a quick while.Nothing bad will happen.Alright?" Dayu looked up with a smile on his face,assuring Wang Qing.
"I can never win you..Alright then,just for a while.If you don't come back in half an hour then i am going there" Wang Qing brought his hands and delicately cupped Dayu's cheeks. Leaning in to give him a quick peck on his lips. Dayu smiled bashfully as he nodded his head.
Wang Qing sent Dayu to the elevator before going into his apartment,cleaning himself and wore his pajamas of a white plain shirt and a black short. Wang Qing kept on staring at his ring finger and smiled to himself. Â He lost count on how many times he been smiling that day alone. He walked back and forth from kitchen to his living room,occasionally staring at the clock.It's been more than half an hour but Dayu still has not come back. Wang Qing grabbed his phone and apartment key,ready to leave when he got a phone call from unknown number. At first he ignored the call,locked his apartment and took an elevator down. But he received another call.
"Wh....."
"Help!Jianyu is in danger!" a voice of woman screamed on the other side. Wang Qing was baffled.He paused his steps,pulling his phone away and stared at the screen thinking if it was a prank call.
"Irene?" asked Wang Qing once he put the speaker close to his ear again.
"Yes!Hurry up!We've been attacked by a woman earlier...at the highway..Xiao..Jianyu" Irene panted,her voice slowly faded away.
"Irene..Who's been attacked?Irene?" Wang Qing called out for Irene few times but there was no answer. He proceed by calling a backup team from his station to check at the nearby highway,in case of possible accident.
DAYU!
The thought of Dayu hit his mind.Though he can't assembled what he been told earlier but he was worried for Dayu. Wang Qing dashed off to Dayu's apartment but when he got there,he saw no trace of Dayu. The door was locked,there was no sign of break in. He called out for Dayu a few times but there was no answer. Even his phone was turned off. Wang Qing went down the the security room to check on the close circuit camera,looking for any trace left behind Dayu's disappearance. To his surprise,Dayu never set a foot on his apartment building. He was last seen riding an elevator down from Wang Qing apartment,heading to the parking lot.
Why the parking lot? Did he left something in the car? What if something bad happened?
Wang Qing thought to himself as he walked toward the parking lot. He stopped right in front of Dayu's car. The car looked fine,no trace of breaking in either. He pressed his forehead on the glass window trying to take a peek inside but it was pitch dark. Just then he received another call from the station.
"There was indeed a car accident. We found Chengyu and Qiushi inside the car with minor injuries but there's no trace of the woman you mentioned earlier. The nearest public phone is two miles away,but it was broken."
"Are you sure?She was with them earlier.Try to expand the area of searching" ordered Wang Qing.
"We will try our best.That woman,is it Xiaohui?We found her tag on the scene"
"No,not her.Thank you for your hard work." Wang Qing ended the call. He was shocked with the new information he received. Xiaohui,the mystery woman who suddenly appeared as new officer in his station.Could it be that she actually not as how she appears to be? Wang Qing wanted to know the truth. He had to make a trip back to his apartment,grabbing his car key and drove off to his station. He kept dialing Dayu's number on his way to the station but the phone was still turned off.
Wang Qing wasted no time as he went straight to his desk,searching for Xiaohui's address and contact number.What's more shocking to him was the fact that there was no record on Xiaohui on the police system. He had to ask for a help from his chief. If he didn't act fast,Dayu's life might be in danger.
"Hello sir,sorry for disturbing you.I need your help.Do you keep any record on the new female officer,Xiaohui. I need to know where she lives sir" asked Wang Qing the moment his chief answered the call. The background noise from the accident scene was too loud,Wang Qing barely heard few words coming from his chief.
"What ..........about?.... don't have .. female officer." Those were words that Wang Qing could catch up with.
"I can't hear you sir"
The noise started to decrease as the chief took few steps away from the crowd. "There's no one by the name Xiaohui at the station.You will need a warrant to search for a citizen's place"
"What do you mean by that sir?She came in few weeks ago.I went patrolling with her and you even threw a welcoming party for her" explained Wang Qing.
"You been patrolling alone.The party was to welcome you back,did you really forget about it?"
"Sir...." That was the only word that came out from Wang Qing's mouth. He was puzzled and so did his chief. They ended the call because his chief needed to inspect the scene.
Wang Qing went around the station asking everyone he saw about Xiaohui. Not a single person ever saw or heard of that mysterious woman. Wang Qing sat down at his desk feeling confused.How is it possible? What actually happened? While he was busy thinking,he overheard a conversation coming from the crime squad who investigated on the mysterious deaths occurred recently.
"The forensic finally confirmed the identity of last victim we found a month ago.Here's the file" said one of the guy while handed over the file to another guy.
"Name,Xiaohui.Age,27.Occupation,a lab assistant.Address...she's from the north?That's far away from here,how did her body ended up here?" said the other as he went through the file.
Wang Qing sprung from his seat and asked "What was her name again?"
"Xiaohui..You know her?" asked the guy with the file in his hand as he looked over at Wang Qing.
"Let me see her picture" Wang Qing walked over and snatched the file from the other guy's hand. Â Wang Qing eyes widen. It was indeed Xiaohui.
"And you say this person is dead?" Wang Qing asked for a confirmation.
The guys looked at each other "Not exactly dead but it's like the rumor said".
"If you are half head,then who is the other woman?" Wang Qing mumbled to himself.
"What are you saying?" asked the guys,they each had the puzzled look on their face.Wang Qing simply shook his head and handed back the file. He walked back to his desk and saw his phone vibrated,indication that he received a text. He swiped his finger on the screen and his eyes moved along with the text.

Wang Qing dialed the number upon reading the text,as he walked out heading toward his car. Took him several tries before the call got connected.
"Who exactly are you?Don't you dare lay your hand on Jianyu" warned Wang Qing.
"Haha..You will know the truth about him when you come here.10 minutes" a loud laughter was heard on the other side.
"There's no way i could reach there in 10 minutes" Wang Qing gritted his teeth,he started the engine and shifted the gear.
BANG!
Suddenly a loud bang was heard followed by a scream at the background.
"I will shoot his other leg in 10 minutes,if you take your time then i will proceed with his arms and finally his head in every 10 minutes."
"NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO" Wang Qing screamed his lung out,but the other end of the call already hung up.
