"JIANYUU"
A loud voice of Wang Qing screaming could be heard from far. He had been calling out for that name several times since he reached the abandon house. He been circling around the house while screaming  Dayu's name.
Wang Qing was afraid if the lunatic did something bad to Dayu because he was late. He exceeded the time limit set up for him. It was impossible for him to drive 15 miles in 10 minutes even though the traffic was not heavy.
There was no answer. Wang Qing decided to break the front door,by kicking it with all his might. His trip to the gym paid off when it only took him 2 kicks to burst the door open. Wang Qing rushed inside only to find the house was filled with long white clothes hanging down from the ceiling to the floor. He had to lift those clothes in order to move around,yet no sign of Dayu anywhere. He fasten his speed until he paused in front of a wooden door.
"Dayu.........."
Standing in front of him was the woman who claimed herself as Xiaohui and Dayu was tied to a chair beside her,unconscious. There was stain of blood on the floor,suspected Dayu's. Not sure on how bad the wound was,Wang Qing took a step forward to have better look at it.
"Stop right there.What took you so long?" she asked,flaunting a gun in her hand.
"You are insane!" shouted Wang Qing but the woman only let out a loud laugh.
"Let me show you something interesting" she said as she took out a folded knife from her side pocket. She flipped the knife open and slowly moved the tip on the skin of Dayu's arm. Blood started flowing out from the opening caused by the cut.
"Stop!You crazy........" Wang Qing wanted to rush over to Dayu but was stopped by the gun pointing at him.
"Wait for it" said the woman with a smirk on her face. The cut on Dayu's skin slowly closing and soon there was only a smooth surface left. As if his skin healed.
Wang Qing gulped down his saliva upon the unthinkable sight that happened right in front of his eyes.
"What are you doing to him?" asked Wang Qing,trying to think of possible answer to what he just witnessed.
"He did it on his own.This person here is not a human.He is not someone you think he is"
Suddenly it clicked.The story about immortals that Dayu told him earlier hit his mind. He was not lying about it,immortals really do exist.A creature that can live on forever.
"Now you understand right?He will never die but you will grow old and eventually die."
"And what does that has anything to do with you.Why are you taking him?If you just want to prove that he is indeed not human,i am aware of that"
"He might not die but a soul eater like me can make him suffer forever.Breathing but not living" A loud laugh echoed in the empty room.
It was that woman who caused all the ruckus among citizens,the mysterious serial killer!
"I initially wanted to take his soul,steal his healing ability just like what i did with another immortals but seeing you so desperate like this excite me.I want you to witness it yourself.Seeing your love one turning into a soul eater like me." Her eyes reflected a darkness,pure evil as she circling around Dayu.
"You will never get away with this" screamed Wang Qing.That was perhaps the first time he felt so helpless,watching Dayu being treated like that in front of his own eyes. He who once a great general can only stand still witnessing his worst nightmare. He who once watched Jianyu died in his own arms. What is this joke that fate playing on them?Or Jianyu is not his destined person?
"Idiot!" she cursed.
"I will always get away with anything.Nothing can stop me,not even the most powerful immortal.My last victim possessed hallucination ability,which is very useful for me.That's how I get close to you.A mere human being but why is your essence so strong.You were my target but something always get in my way. Tsk-" she leaned in closer to Dayu,sticking her tongue out and tracing his jawline with the tip of her tongue. She looked straight at Wang Qing with a wicked expression.
"Stop!I will trade my place with him" Wang Qing took a step forward,flashing his palm.
"You are human being,if I consume your essence my immortality will be gone.I am not that stupid!"
"Please,I will do anything if you just let him go" pleaded Wang Qing.Once general Wang failed to save Jianyu but this time Wang Qing wanted to save his love one.Even if it means that he has to sacrifices his own life.
"Pledge with your name,you human being.Pledge that you will give your soul to me,that your existence shall be forgotten" she straighten her back,showing her interest in Wang Qing's response.
"Alright,I will do that.But please let him go" Wang Qing fell on both his knees.
The lunatic woman had another hidden agenda.She got greedy,wanting both Wang Qing and Dayu.She intended to agree on letting Dayu go but use the hallucination ability to mask Wang Qing's insight.
"Your pledge" she insisted.
Wang Qing intention to bargain for Dayu safety had been turned down.He can never make sense of what was happening,but ever since he started to regain his memories of the past nothing make sense anymore.For that once Wang Qing wished that he too has a special ability to fight the lunatic. Wang Qing faintly nodded his head. He stood up on his feet,his gaze fell into Dayu who had been mistreated in front of his eyes.
"Dayu..Jianyu..Can you hear me?Wake up.I need you.I need you to fight this war with me.Stop sitting there so helplessly.Wake up.I don't care if I will grow old one day and you will stay the same.If I die old,I will make sure to reincarnate and find you again,and again.It doesn't matter,my feeling will always be the same.Be it hundred of years ago or hundred of years late,Wang Qing loves only Jianyu"
Wang Qing inhaled an amount of dry cold air.Just like his vow,his life only belongs to Dayu alone.
"I..Wang Qing..pledge in my name..be it in this life or next life,my soul and heart belong to you and only you..Jianyu"
The woman's eyes widen,her eyeballs turned red from the boiling anger she felt upon hearing the pledge.It was not what she expected to hear.That human being actually dare to challenge her by twisting the vow.
"I see that you really have a death wish.I shall grant that wish of yours" she gritted her teeth as she pointed the gun toward Wang Qing,ready to pull the trigger. Wang Qing already expected that outcome,he drew his own gun. They both standing pointing guns toward each other.Wang Qing did not pull out his gun earlier,he was worry for Dayu's safety but judging from the situation he knew that both him and Dayu won't make it.
"Guess you forgotten that I am immortal" she flashed a wicked smile,her index finger pulled the trigger.They both released a shot at the same time.
NOOOOOOOOOOOOO.
Wang Qing was sure he heard that scream as a loud bang filled the abandon house.A woman's scream slowly faded. Wang Qing saw a bright blinded white light in front of him,slowly starting to fill in his surrounding. Is he finally dead?Did the bullet killed him?What about Jianyu? His endless thought kept running in his mind.Soon he finds himself in a large white room,just like what he experienced before.He's dead for sure,or so he thought when a shadow appeared before his eyes. A woman dressed in black attire showed up. Her eyes were so dark,her skin was pale,her nails reached her knees.
"What are you doing?Impossible!" she screamed in agony.Wang Qing immediately recognize the voice.It was the same lunatic who held Dayu in her custody. He finally sees her true form.
"Ah-.." A sudden thought hit Wang Qing's mind. "So we both are dead now"
The woman charged forward,ready to attack Wang Qing bare handed. Their battle still continue even after life. Wang Qing managed to dodge every attacks he received. He played defense while looking out for an open opportunity to attack. The woman finally lost her rhyme after a while and Wang Qing took that chance to counterattack. It was a successful attack,the woman fell down on the ground.Her body started to burn and turned into ashes which soon faded away,as if it was being brushed away by air passing by.
Even after an intense battle,Wang Qing was not out of breath. Being dead isn't that bad but where should he go next?His next destination should be toward being reincarnate and find Dayu once again. That same chain of cycle. Wang Qing started walking forward,though he was not sure where the road might lead him.
''Wang Qing''
Wang Qing paused his steps. He turned around but saw nothing.He was sure that he heard his name being called.
'' Wake up Wang Qing''
That time he was sure enough that someone called out for him.That voice sound awfully familiar to him.
''Dayu..Jianyu..is that you?'' Wang Qing asked as he walked toward that voice which lead him to a tunnel.It was dark,Wang Qing could not see a thing inside the tunnel.
''Wang Qing'' The voice getting further away. Wang Qing was hesitate at first,if he should get into the tunnel or keep on walking in the white space but he decided to follow the path in front of him.He went straight into the tunnel. A small steps gradually become bigger and bigger,Wang Qing fasten his pace; running inside the dark space until he finally saw a yellowish light at the end of the tunnel.
''Wang Qing''
He gasped loudly,catching his breath as if he had ran a marathon. He squinted his eyes,turning his head away the moment his eyeballs landed on the bright source of light in front of him. In that brief moment,he heard a group of people chattering around him.
''He finally wake up,call the doctor''
''Oh,thank God''
Wang Qing slowly opened his eyes,scanning his surrounding.It was not longer a white or black space but rather somewhere familiar.A hospital to be exact. A group of people wearing white started to approach him,touching his body and writing something on the piece of paper. Wang Qing was puzzled,thinking if he finally being born again.In the midst of people,Wang Qing eyes landed on a familiar figure standing at the back,wearing a worried expression.
''Dayu...'' Wang Qing faintly called out the name that he missed the most.The one that he longed to see and touch.
Upon hearing his name being called,Dayu walked forward slipping his body in between the crowd of nurses and doctor,approaching Wang Qing who lied on the hospital bed. His face showed a mix of worried and relief.Wang Qing gathered his strength to lift up his left arm. Seeing that,Dayu quickly held out his hand and grabbed Wang Qing's hand. He held it tight,biting his lower lip while trying his best to smile.
Not sure of what to say,Wang Qing smiled. The crowd slowly dispersed leaving only them,longingly looking at each other.
Dayu brought Wang Qing's hand close to his chest.He closed his eyes as he heavily heaved.
''I thought i lose you again'' he said in a low voice.
''What happened?'' asked Wang Qing,looking puzzled.
''Irene found you inside an abandon house,bleeding and half dead.You been shot here'' said Dayu,pointing his finger on Wang Qing's chest. ''I am sorry'' Dayu frowned.
''You..she did not do anything to you right?'' asked Wang Qing,concerned.
''No,i am alright.Irene came to see me that night and she took me to her house.When she came back to get you,she said you were gone.She went to the station and saw you driving off somewhere.She followed you to an abandon house''
It was different than what Wang Qing remembered.
''Chengyu and Qiushi..They..''
''They are fine.It was just a minor incident. They went back a while ago.They been visiting you everyday for two weeks''
''Two weeks?''
Dayu nodded his head. Wang Qing had been unconscious for two weeks it seems. Dayu stayed with him at the hospital until he was allowed to go home. Wang Qing still curious about what happened that night,he wanted to see Irene and ask for confirmation once he's in a better shape but for that moment he's just thankful to be alive.
