Hundred of years later,into modern time-
Wang Qing gasped loudly and awaken from his sleep,he went from sleeping into sitting position in seconds. He panted heavily as sweat slowly dripping from his sideburns. He took a deep breath while covering his face with his palm.
"Another nightmare?" asked the woman sleeping next to him.She shuffled closer and placed her palm on Wang Qing's back,gently stroke it.
Wang Qing slightly nodded.He lost count on how many times he had been dreaming the same dream.In his dream,he was addressed as general and had a deep bonding with someone by the name Jianyu,who was later killed;causing him a severe breakdown. It felt so real that Wang Qing himself started getting confused.
"Shhhhh" the woman hushed.Wang Qing's chest moved up and down as he tried to cool down himself.
"I am sorry" he said while turning his head and slightly smiled."Let's go back to sleep" he added as he leaned in and pecked her cheek. They position themselves and went back into sleeping position.Wang Qing extended his arm,pulling the woman close to him. He shut his eyes tightly and hoping that he can sleep peacefully.
The next morning,Wang Qing woke up really late and his head felt so heavy. The woman who was sleeping next to him earlier already gone,leaving only empty spot. Wang Qing stretched his hand,searching for his cellphone on the table next to the bed.
40 missed calls. 28 unread messages.
Wang Qing sighed the moment he checked on his call log.He rubbed his face and gave it a light pat. That was not the first time he missed his work. It happens all the time,whenever he had trouble sleeping he will head out and get drunk.
Wang Qing got off bed and put on his clothes. He took the elevator and proceeded to check out.Despite owning a car on his own,Wang Qing still prefer walking from one place to another. He enjoys looking at people walking by,doing their own things and silently judging them.At least that will keep his mind busy for a while.
As he was walking,someone bumped into him.The person quickly apologized and Wang Qing nodded before he continued walking.But then something felt missing from his pocket. He put his hands on his pockets and realized his cellphone missing. Wang Qing paused his footstep as he rotated his body,eyeing his surrounding.
"You there!Stop!" he pointed and shouted once he spotted the man earlier. Startled from hearing Wang Qing's loud voice,the man dashed off and slid in between the crowds.. Wang Qing ran after him right away.
"Stop him!He stole my cellphone!" Wang Qing continued shouting to the crowd in front of him.Onlookers were confused,they stood still and talked among them instead of helping.
"Urgh- People!" Wang Qing chased the man at full speed.From a busy road into a narrow alley,Wang Qing kept on running but his speed gradually slowing down.
"Fine!Take it!" he cursed as he saw the man getting farther. Wang Qing stopped and bent down,placing his hands on the knees.While he was busy catching his breath,Wang Qing heard a thud sound.He lifted up his head.There was another man crashed on the suspect's body and held both of his hands. Wang Qing quickly jogged as he saw the suspect tried to break free.
Wang Qing bent down and searched through the suspect's body,trying to find his cellphone while the other man had his knee on suspect's waist.
"Huh-You dare to steal from an officer"said Wang Qing once he found his cellphone.
"I didn't know.I am sorry.My wife is sick,she needs money for her treatment," pleaded the thief.
"Then get a job.I don't care about your condition,stealing is still wrong.I am bringing you to the station" Wang Qing stood up and held the thief by his arms.
The other man walked slightly to the side and picked up a file on the ground.
"Thank you for helping me" said Wang Qing. He was busy with the thief that he completely forgot about the man who helped him earlier. He didn't even see that man's face properly.
"It's my duty as  a fellow citizen," he said as he turned around and smiled.
Wang Qing was taken aback once he saw that man's face. He looked awfully similar to the one in his dream."What's your name?" he asked.
"Dayu" replied the man before excused himself "I am late for a meeting"
While Wang Qing stood still with a disbelief look on his face,the thief took that chance to escape. He was too tired for another cat and mouse game so he let that thief ran away.
"Dayu.. He has a different name but they look exactly the same.Could he be Jianyu from my dream?" murmured Wang Qing when he's on his way to the station."No way" he shook his head,brushing off his thought.He continued walking.
"Hey Wang Qing,where have you been?Boss wanted to see you," greeted his friend,Chengyu the moment he stepped into the station.
"I was busy" replied Wang Qing.
"Busy sleeping around?You should be careful and wear protection if you don't want to end up being tied for the rest of your life," Chengyu let out a small laughter.
"I see that you have no problem with that issues at all," Wang Qing mockingly said,leaving his friend speechless.
Wang Qing knocked on his chief in command's door.He opened the door and walked in before he was given permission to do so.
"Sir,salute.I understand you want to see me." Wang Qing stood upright,then noticed there's another person in the room.
"Sir,sorry sir.I did not know you are meeting someone at this moment."
"Dismiss."
"Yes sir" Wang Qing slowly walked out from the room and waited outside. He scrolled down the screen of his cellphone,reading his unread messages.
It was fun last night,i hope you will drop by again soon..Have a good sleep tonight.
Wang Qing smiled upon reading it.The woman from last night was not his girlfriend but she was the only person that knows about his dreams.Also the only woman he keeps in touch for the past few years. Though he knows that she has feeling for him but Wang Qing didn't want to get attached or put a label on their relationship.Whenever he gets into relationship,something will happen that cause them to fall apart.
"You may come in now."
Wang Qing snapped and put his cellphone inside his back pocket."What did you say?" he asked.
"I said,you may come in now.The chief requested to see you."
"Ah-right.Thanks" he replied before asking "Dayu right?What are you doing here?"
"I am in charge of this station interior design," he chuckled.
"I see-Well,thanks again for what you did just now.I am Wang Qing" he held out his hand and offered a handshake.
"No problem.I didn't get to introduce myself properly earlier.I am Feng Jianyu,Dayu" said Dayu while smiling as he grabbed Wang Qing's hand and shook it.
"Jianyu!" Wang Qing said in high pitch voice as he tighten his grip.
"Yes.But you are hurting my hand" Dayu slightly frowned.He had no idea why Wang Qing did that.
"Don't you remember me?" asked Wang Qing.
"Of course i do,we met just now".Dayu was confused,he tried to free his hand from Wang Qing's grip.
"No...I mean..." Wang Qing realized how ridiculous he sounded.He slowly let go of Dayu's hand and apologized. Dayu left with a confused look on his face,wondering what could that be just now.
"Jianyu" Wang Qing called out.
"Yes" Dayu quickly turned around.
"Nothing.Take care on your way". Dayu nodded his head and walked out.
Wang Qing made his chief in command waited for him,as result he got suspended for 2 weeks from duty. Even though he showed outstanding performance as a police officer,but he has discipline issues.
"I am giving 2 weeks for you to solve your problems.If you are not serious in your work then quit being an officer" said the chief in command. Wang Qing accepted his punishment.
"Jianyu. I have 2 weeks to find out who you really are."
