Chapter 1: Chapter 0 - Prologue

Since the year 2012, the whole planet had been undergoing huge changes.

One after another, humanity discovered that some of them had awakened supernatural abilities. Then, ancient sects and clans who had been standing in secret since centuries ago reemerged and declared their power to the whole world.

Countries, led by these powers, started wars against each other. At the same time, scientists were gradually losing their prestige, replaced by those who called themselves ‘cultivators’. These cultivators all had supernatural powers. They could absorb a force called ‘natural power’ and turn it into their own energy. And as their power grew stronger, they gradually grew nearer and nearer to immortality, to the level of gods, something that humans of the past era wouldn’t dare imagine...

In just a hundred years, humanity had thoroughly evolved. From ordinary humans to superhumans, who could weild the power of nature. Humanity’s technology had also gained heaven-and-earth-revolving changes.

The year 2012 marked the start of a new era – thus this era was reffered to as the New Era, while the times before were reffered to as the Old Era.

Just as Earth was starting to stabilize, a meteorite crashed onto the land of Arctic. On it, a prophecy was carved, written in an ancient, alien language, prophecying the birth of the Twin Stars of Cosmos, who would either save or destroy the whole world.

But scientists and language experts, bribed by the leading powers, hid the fact that there were two Stars mentioned – they 'changed' the phrase 'Twin Stars of Cosmos' to only 'Star of Cosmos'.

Meaning, very few people knew that there were actually two Stars of Cosmos...

And on the date 21st December 2112, everyone was waiting. Would the prophecied Star of Cosmos be born, or not?

Hexasia, Loche City.

A young woman who looked like in her early twenties was lying on a clean, pure-white hospital bed. She was a very beautiful woman with Chinese features, with long, soft brown hair and slender phoenix eyes, rosy lips, and smooth, jade-like fair skin. Even with the painful expression she currently wore, she was still very beautiful.

“I can’t hold on.” she said through gritted teeth.

"You have to,” said the tall young man standing next to her bed. “The doctor is still on the way.”

"But it’s too painful!” the woman yelled.

The young man didn’t say anything. He just held his wife’s hand and squeezed it comfortingly, praying to the Creator that his wife wouldn’t give birth before the doctor arrived...

After ten minutes that felt like a decade, the doctor finally arrived. The doctor was around thirty five, and currently he was a mess – his clothes wrinkled, his hair like a bird’s nest, and his face pale like the hospital bed’s sheet.

As soon as he arrived, he quickly prepared the utensils needed to operate on the woman. Because the baby in her belly was very active, it was tangled with the umbilical cord two months ago. Thus, it was impossible for the mother to give birth normally – the doctor had to cut open her belly to take the tangled baby out.

The operation went smoothly. After being cleaned carefully, the baby was presented to its parents. The chubby baby was very cute, with a fair round face, clear, large black eyes, and small pouty lips.

Gingerly holding her baby, the mother said with glassy eyes, “My sweet baby daughter...”

“Our daughter.” the father said with a huge grin on his face.

“Congratulations, your baby is very healthy.” the doctor said as he walked out of the sideroom.

“Thank you for all your help, doctor.” the father shook the doctor’s hand. “No word can describe how thankful we are.”

At this moment, the mother coincidentally glanced at the holographic clock hung on the wall to look at the time, but then her gaze froze. It was already past ten in the night. At what time was her baby born? Surely not that particular time. The probability was there, but it wasn’t that high, right...?

Thinking about these, she asked in a slightly trembling voice, “Doctor, my baby’s birth time...?”

The doctor turned at the nurse, raising his eyebrows inquiringly.

“It’s––” the nurse abruptly paused, and her face paled.

“What’s the matter?” the doctor asked, feeling a bad premonition.

With eyes filled with horror, the nurse glanced at the baby in the woman’s arms and said in a nearly inaudible voice, “Twelve past nine p.m.... It’s twelve past twenty-one... the two-one-one-two (2112).”

An eerie silence descended upon the room.

Everyone’s face paled, and turned to look at the blank expression on the chubby baby’s delicate face. In their eyes, this innocent baby had become a terrifying deity that had just descended onto the mortal realm...

“Doctor,” the father said urgently. “Please change our baby’s birth time, please. I beg you.”

“Quick, change it to 21:14 p.m.” the doctor ordered the nurse.

“Yes, doctor.”

Meanwhile, in Zhongqing City, China, a similar event was occuring in the Zhongqing City Hospital. Only, the baby was a boy.

“Doctor... we have to trouble you to change our baby’s birth time.” the father said.

“I...”

“It’s too late, Sir, I’m really sorry...” a nurse said from the side nervously, not daring to meet the others’ eyes. “The birth time has been submitted to the President, as per our hospital director’s instruction.”

Once again, silence descended upon the room.

The mother lying on the bed suddenly fainted. The pressure on her was too great – she had just gone through an operation, and suddenly, the shocking news came. On top of that, they didn’t manage to hide their baby’s identity as the Star of Cosmos.

Seeing the woman faint, the father wasn’t that surprised. He was actually wondering how his wife could hold on for so long... Calming down, he sighed.

“Let it be, then. Oh, right. Doctor, would you mind if I change my child’s name?”

“To what name, Sir?” the doctor asked absent-mindedly.

“Tianjue, meaning God’s Absoluteness,” the father said solemnly. “Tang Tianjue.”

At the same time, in the Loche City, the female baby’s father said, “Her name will be Yuriel Akatriel, and her chinese name will be Zhang Yujin (Cosmic Strength).”

Two Stars of Cosmos had been born at the exact same time, down to the seconds, although unknown to anyone currently. The difference was, the girl’s identity as a Star of Cosmos managed to be successfully hidden, while the boy had to bear the pressure of his identity as the known Star of Cosmos...
