Chapter 18 Di rty
Kevin took the opportunity to hand over a bottle of wine. âMr. Evans, why donât you let Amelia pour a glass of wine for you.â
Kevin had wanted to see Amelia undress in front of everyone, but he quickly realized that she was his date and that he had p ublicly referred to her as his girlfriend. The thought of her taking off her clothes and being seen by everyone else made him lose face.
Paul reacted quickly and agreed with Kevin. âLet her pour you a glass of wine as punishment.â
After that, he signaled Amelia to pour wine for James.
Amelia looked up at James. Seeing that he didnât have any expression, she couldnât figure out what he was thinking.
She mustered the courage to pick up the expensive red wine on the table, walked up to him, and bent down slightly.
She held the bottle and was about to pour the wine into his glass when he suddenly raised his hand to cover the rim.
James stared at her face and spat out a word indifferently, âDi rty.â
Ameliaâs heart sank, and the pain was almost unbearable. She struggled to catch her breath as her hand trembled, still holding the wine bottle. 2/3 She froze on the spot and gazed into his eyes. There was no trace of affection in his eyes from the old days, only disdain. Did he think she was di rty because she had been with Kevin? It was ridiculo us. Wasnât she di rty when he slept with her for five years?
Her anger began to rise, and she stood up straight, handing the wine bottle back to Kevin in a pique.
âMr. Harris, he thinks Iâm d irty. Why donât you pour a glass of wine for Mr. Evans?â Her voice was soft, and when she called Kevin âMr. Harris,â it almost made his bones go limp. Kevin was burning with desire, hugged her waist, and comforted her in her ear, âOkay, let me handle it.â He took the bottle from her hand and poured wine for James. âDonât misunderstand, Mr. Evans. Sheâs not that kind of girl, she is clean.â James snorted, âIs that so?â
The mocking laughter seemed to completely deny Amelia.
Kevin gave him a suspicious look.
It was weird. Why did he feel that James was making Amelia feel uncomfortable on purpose?

Worried that Jamesâ misunderstanding would jeopardize the project, he quickly explained with a smile, âIâve checked it. Sheâs clean.â

Jamesâs hand, which was holding the glass, suddenly froze.
He raised his snow-cold eyes and looked at Kevin. âHow did you verify that?â
Kevin did not notice Jamesâ strange reaction and said proudly âIâve slept with her.â
