I tried not to scream, feeling the dead weight of Oliver on me as he bled out from his neck.
Nate looked at me with wide eyes. "Don't scream or we'll get caught. Okay?" He whispered as I nodded.
As soon as he pulled his hand away, he pulled the body off of me. "Is Colby here?" I whispered, tears welling in my eyes.
"Yeah, he's here." He said as I shook my head, feeling my chest ache with fear.
"They're gonna kill him, you have to get him out of here." I whimpered as Nate stood up.
"He's not leaving until you're out of here." He said as the door handle jiggled. "Hide." I whispered as Nate's eyes widened.
"What?" He asked as I pointed towards the desk I always hid under. "Go." I begged as the door started to open.
I grabbed the knife as Nate dove under the desk, getting out of sight.
"What the fuck is going on in here?" The guy who was coming into the room asked as I trembled.
"I- I didn't mean t-to." I whispered as he clenched his jaw. "You killed him?" He asked as I nodded.
"Oh, now you've done it." He said then grabbed me by the wrist and grabbed the knife, throwing it across the room before forcefully yanking me out of the room.
"Please.." I begged as he held my wrist so tightly he probably was bruising it.
"Joey's not gonna be fucking happy." The guy said then knocked on my dad's door.
"Yes?" Dad answered causing the guy to open the door. "This one fucking killed Oliver." The guy said and pushed me into the room.
I was so weak that I fell to my knees, catching myself before I could smack my face on the ground.
"Repeat that." Dad said and kept his eyes on me. "She killed Oliver. Stuck a knife in his neck." The guy explained as my dad nodded slowly.
"Thank you, Tyler. I'll take care of it from here." He hummed causing the guy to leave the room.
"Tsk tsk, Juliana. I thought your killing days were over." He said with a sigh. "What are we gonna do with you?" He asked then looked at Will.
"Tie her up, I want her to watch what's about to happen." Dad said with an amused tone. I hated how satisfied he was with himself.
He didn't care that he was traumatizing me. He didn't care that I was the same person who adored him as a child.
None of that mattered anymore.
Will lifted me up and dragged me to the corner of the room, grabbing some rope along the way.
I didn't know why he had that on hand but I didn't question anything anymore.
Will tied me up then shoved me in the corner before going back up to my dad.
"Enjoy the show, Juliana." Dad said as the door opened, revealing Sam and Colby.
"No." I whispered, tears welling in my eyes. "Nice of you to finally join us, Brock." Dad said as Colby's jaw clenched, all the color from his face draining.
It was almost as if he had seen a ghost.
"How?" He asked after a moment of silence, causing my dad to chuckle.
"Ah, Colby. Hasn't anyone ever told you to be ten steps ahead?" He asked then looked at Sam.
"And Mr. Golbach, it's been a while." He said as Sam shook his head.
"I don't understand." Sam said as Colby looked over at me. I whimpered and shook my head, silently begging him to turn around and leave me behind.
He had no idea how dangerous this situation was. He didn't know that my father had been planning this moment for a long ass time.
Colby could save himself if he ran now, leaving me behind. It was all I wanted for him, but the way he was looking at me led me to believe he wouldn't be doing that.
I wasn't worth it though.
"What's not to understand?" Dad asked as Colby turned his head to look at him.
"I watched Colby kill you." Sam said as dad laughed and started slowly walking in my direction.
"Ya see, you came really close to killing me. You were just so concerned about my Juliana here, that you didn't even check to see if I was actually dead." Dad explained as he put his hand on my head.
Colby flinched as anger filled his features. There was a fire in his eyes that I had never really seen before.
Sure, I have seen him angry before but this was next level. He looked like he wanted to rip my dad's hand off of his body for touching me.
"Ah, there it is." Dad hummed as he yanked my head up so I would look at him.
"Tell Colby here how happy you've been since reconnecting with your old man." Dad said and held my hair, roughly pulling at it.
"Say how you want to stay here." He said and raised his brows at me. "Do it." He growled then forced my head to look at the guys.
"I-I wanna st-stay." I mumbled, my voice trembling.
Colby's eyes flashed with anger again before he looked my father in the eyes.
"How about we have a deal. You kill me but let her go." Colby said as I shook my head violently.
"That's funny that you think there any sort of discussion about this. It's been time for you to die, and I want Juliana to watch." Dad said and looked down at me.
"So she's gonna be good and not speak out of turn until we're done." He said then patted my head.
The anger that was radiating off of Colby was more than ever. It felt like he was going to explode at any minute.
"That's your fucking daughter, what's wrong with you?" Sam spoke up.
"She's should have thought about that before siding with you." He said then slowly made his way back over to him while Will loaded up a gun.
"Well it's not exactly a shock that Julia chose someone who cares about her over someone who betrayed her her entire life." Colby said as dad nodded.
"The details are sticky, but it doesn't matter now." Dad said as I watched Will hand over the gun he had loaded.
"Stop!" I begged, a tightness in my chest blooming so intensely I thought my heart would stop.
"SHUT UP." Dad screamed then shot the gun towards me, hitting the wall next to my head.
I flinched, tears welling in my eyes as Colby's jaw clenched.
"Leave her out of this, Quill." Colby said angrily. "She wants to be a big girl and fight her own battles, then this is her opportunity." Dad said as Will shifted slightly.
I noticed he had a knife hidden the palm of his hand and he was looking at Sam, getting ready to charge him.
Sam was holding his gun but he was distracted by the conversation going on.
"Watch out!" I yelled as Will finally made the move, causing Sam to flinch.
When Colby turned to see what was happening, dad shot him in the shoulder causing me to scream.
"Always so distracted." Dad hummed as Sam fought with Will.
I knew that I needed to get myself untied if I was going to help in any way.
I didn't necessarily want to be involved in any of this, but I couldn't let my dad kill the love of my life.
I worked at the ropes, trying to stay as calm as possible as chaos ensued around me.
Sam was pinned up against the wall with a knife to his neck as Will knocked his gun out of his hand, causing it to slide over to my side of the room.
"Help him!" I begged, catching Colby's attention. "Close your eyes, sweetheart. It's gonna be okay, just close your eyes." He said quietly.
I shook my head, knowing that he was accepting his fate. He was going to let my dad kill him.
He was going to leave me.
"Surrendering already? That's a shame. I thought we would have more fun." Dad said then took a couple steps towards Colby.
"Let Sam and Julia go. You can kill me in the most brutal way, or you can keep me here and torture me. I don't care. Let them go." Colby said, looking at my dad.
"No!!" I begged, trying even harder to get myself free.
"SHUT! UP! YOU STUPID GIRL!" Dad screamed and shot at me again, this time hitting my shoulder.
I cried out in pain as Colby charged my dad. I knew he was trying to sacrifice himself but I think seeing me get shot again put a fire under his ass.
I watched as Will stabbed Sam in the side, causing him to grunt with pain while Colby fought my father.
I sobbed, trying harder than ever to get myself untied.
When I finally got myself untied I crawled over to the gun that was on the floor then stood up shakily and made my way towards the violence.
