The next few days flew by.

Colby and I got back to Seattle so I could continue to recover.

I was slowly getting into a more normal routine and was hiding less and less. Colby was still hanging out with me here, but he was constantly on the phone or working on his computer.

I felt bad that he was trapped in this apartment with me but I was grateful he was here.

Today was the day that Colby was going to go back to the work, since he needed to get things done.

We weren't sure whether it was better for me to go with him or to stay here alone. Neither option was ideal but I would prefer to go with Colby.

I knew it was probably the riskier option but I felt better about being around Colby than being alone here.

"Ready to go, sweetheart?" Colby asked as I put a hoodie over my head. "Yeah." I said quietly. "You can stay here if you want to, whatever makes you feel more safe." Colby said as I walked over to him.

"No, I want to be with you." I said causing him to smile slightly. "Okay, let's go then." He said then took my hand.

"Did you grab something to do?" Colby asked as I nodded and grabbed the bag I had packed up. I put a couple books and coloring books so I wouldn't get bored.

"Perfect, let's get going." He said then led the way out of the apartment.

I was feeling much more normal than I have been for the past couple weeks, but I haven't been thrown into the world of crime yet.

This was a huge step.

We stopped and got some food, then made our way to base.

When Colby parked he looked over at me and took my hand. "Nobody is going to come near you, okay?" He asked as I nodded. "I trust you." I said as he leaned over and kissed me.

When we pulled away, I sighed then brought my hand to his cheek. "Please don't get hurt." I said quietly.

"I won't." He said then kissed my cheek before getting out of the car. When I got out of the car I felt the hairs on the back of my neck standing up.

It felt like someone was watching.

"You okay?" Colby asked and took my hand. "Yeah." I said quietly then took a step closer to him.

He squeezed my hand then led the way down the alleyway to get down to base. I was feeling really uneasy about being back here but trusted Colby with my life.

When we got downstairs, we were immediately swarmed by a bunch of Colby's gang members.

They were all yelling at Colby, their words melding together in a messy rage.

I flinched back, hiding behind Colby's shoulder as my heart raced.

"ENOUGH." Colby bellowed angrily. "Go to the conference room. I'll be there in a second." He said with venom in his tone.

"Now!" He snapped causing the men to all turn and walk away. As soon as they were gone, he squeezed my hand then led me towards his office.

Once we were in his office he turned to me. "I'm sorry about them. Are you okay?" He asked and looked into my eyes.

I nodded then looked down. I was trying to not be scared but being bombarded by a bunch of men wasn't the most comfortable feeling.

"No you're not." He said with a sigh. "I'm sorry. I should have told Jeremy to hold them off since I was with you." He said then put his fingers on my chin, forcing me to look up at him.

"I'm sorry." He repeated as I nodded. "It's okay, Colby. I promise." I said and brought my hand to his cheek, caressing it gently.

"Okay. I have to go deal with them now." He said with a sigh as I pulled away from him. "Be careful, okay?" I asked as he nodded.

"I will be." He said then went over to his desk, pulling a gun out.

"I'm going to lock the door, but I'm leaving this here with you. If anyone comes in here, you kill them. Understand?" He asked and put the gun on the desk.

I nodded, sitting down. I didn't like the idea of taking another life but it was comforting knowing I had the means of protecting myself.

"I shouldn't be too long." He said as I unpacked my art supplies.

I had to admit I was a little nervous to be here on my own considering what happened last time, but I knew that Colby couldn't stay attached to my hip.

I had to struggle a little bit in order to grow.

"I love you." I said quietly as he turned to leave the room. I watched as he smiled, turning around again.

"I love you, too." He said then kissed me. "I'm gonna lock the door." He reminded as he made his way out of the room.

"Thanks." I said quietly then looked down and started drawing.

I had to keep my mind and hands distracted or I would start to freak out.

The last time I was in this room by myself, I was held at gunpoint.

I was told to say goodbye to Colby and I was brought to the most horrible place I could ever be.

It was definitely unsettling being in here alone.

I wasn't sure how long Colby was gone before the door was opening.

I gasped and grabbed the gun, holding it up as Colby came into the room.

"Easy, love." Colby said and held his hands up. "You scared me." I mumbled, putting the gun on the desk.

"Yeah, I didn't think this part through." He said then went to sit at his desk. I noticed he had blood on his shirt as he sighed and grabbed his glasses.

"Is that yours?" I asked and point to the blood. "Huh? Oh. No, it's not mine." He said with a sigh.

"Things are really tense here, and if someone crosses me they have to die." He said with a sigh. "Okay." I said quietly then looked down at the drawing I was working on.

We worked in silence for a while, before the sick feeling brewed within me.

"Colby?" I asked, breaking the silence. "What's up?" He asked and looked up at me.

"I feel sick." I said quietly. "Shit, okay." He said then stood up. "I'll take you to the infirmary." He said as I nodded and stood up.

"I think I'm gonna take the pill." I said with a sigh. It was something that I have been thinking about a lot.

As much as I wanted to have kids, I didn't want to bring a child into the world without knowing who the father was.

Even worse, knowing that the father wasn't someone I loved or cared for.

"Are you sure?" Colby asked gently as he reached his hand out to me. "It's gonna be hard, but it needs to happen." I said as he rubbed his thumb along my hand.

"I'll be there for you every step of the way. No matter what." Colby said then kissed my head.

I was so grateful that Colby was so gentle with me. It was such a contrast to how he was with anyone else and I was grateful.

He was truly the love of my life.

We walked down the hallway, Colby holding my hand tightly.

When we got to the infirmary, Colby handed me a little bedpan so I could throw up if I needed to.

"I'm gonna set you up with an IV. I think it'll make you feel a little better." Colby said as I nodded.

"Are you gonna sit in here with me?" I asked as he shook his head. "We'll bring the IV with us back to my office." He said then started setting things up.

I ended up throwing up a couple times while Colby set the IV up, but once it was set up I was feeling a lot less nauseous.

"Alright, sweetheart. Let's get you back to my office." He said then wrapped his arm around my waist, wheeling the IV with me.

As we walked, I noticed that there weren't many people around at all.

Usually when I was down here there were people around everywhere.

We didn't see anyone walking down the hallway, except for one guy who almost ran into me.

"Watch where you're fucking going." Colby said angrily as the guy who nearly bumped into me gasped.

"Sorry, sir. Sorry, Julia." He said as Colby clenched his jaw. "Don't talk to her either." He said as I shook my head.

"It's okay." I said quietly as he nodded. "Won't happen again." He said then turned to go into a room.

I wasn't trying to be nosey but when he opened the door, I saw Will chained to a wall.

He made eye contact with me then gasped. "Julia!" He cried out as he struggling against the chains.
