Colby's POV
It was hard seeing Julia like this. I couldn't put into words how scary it was thinking that she had killed herself in the bathroom.
Part of me knew she wouldn't do that, but the sparkle in her eyes was completely gone.
I knew she was struggling but the fear in her eyes when I finally broke into the bathroom was terrifying.
I had never seen her that scared.
There was a minute there when I thought I had lost her forever.
I thought she had finally mentally broken and that she wouldn't be able to be pulled out of the panic attack.
When she finally came to it, I felt so much relief I wanted to kiss her. I couldn't do that to her while she was in such a vulnerable state.
However, when our lips finally met it felt like no time had passed. The last four years were irrelevant and we were still madly in love.
None of the other girls I have been with since Julia have made me feel even close to the way she did.
Julia was special and I was never going to let her go again.
Of course, if she truly did want to leave I would let her, but I was going to fight for her. I would fight as hard as I could to show her how much I loved her.
"Ready?" I asked as she nodded, pulling her bag onto her shoulder. "Come on then." I said and opened the door, gesturing towards the hallway.
While I couldn't sleep last night, I texted Sam. I decided that I would need his help along with the other guys.
We were going to a cabin in Montana since it was in the middle nowhere and genuinely nobody knew about it.
Now that the tracker was out of Julia's leg, we could maybe find some safety.
"How much money are you leaving for the door?" Julia asked as I shrugged. "Two hundred?" I suggested as she nodded.
When we got down to the lobby I led the way to the front desk.
"Checking out?" The woman asked as I nodded. "There was a situation containing the bathroom door. Here is some money for the damages." I said and slid her two hundred dollar bills.
The woman looked angry but was instantly calmed by the charming smile I flashed her.
"Thank you, sir." She said then batted her lashes at me. "You're welcome. Ready, sweetheart?" I asked Julia as she nodded.
"We've got a long drive." I said and wrapped my arm around her waist, leading the way out of the hotel.
When we got to the car I took Julia's bag from her and put it in the backseat along with mine.
"You hungry?" I asked as we got in the car. "No." She said quietly, keeping her eyes down.
I knew that the past couple days have been a whirlwind and that my confession was really effecting her.
I knew it was a bold claim and I truly didn't know I meant it until I said it.
Before she came into my life again I tried desperately to forget about her since it was safer that way.
Having her back in my life meant that I wouldn't let her go again as easily.
"Wanna talk about what's bothering you?" I asked as I kept my eyes on the road.
"I'm just tired." Julia said quietly. "You can take a nap in the back seat if you want. I can stop and get some pillows and blankets." I suggested.
"Please stop." She said with a sigh. "Stop what?" I asked and glanced over at her.
"Stop being so sweet. Go back to your asshole self." She mumbled causing me to chuckle. "You like that better?" I asked as she crossed her arms.
"I just don't want you thinking this is okay." She said with a sigh.
"I told you there's no expectations. My feelings for you won't go away whether you feel the same way or not." I said then looked straight ahead.
"That's the problem." She whispered. I didn't know what she meant but I didn't want to pry.
She was sensitive right now and her feelings would come to light eventually.
I know she felt something with that kiss though.
She would have pushed me away and wouldn't have let me kiss her if she didn't want me to.
I could still hear the little moans ringing in my ears as I sucked and kissed her neck.
It was my favorite noise ever.
I groaned slightly, thinking about how badly I wanted to kiss her again.
It was embarrassing because my dick was actually getting hard at the thought. I felt like a teenager again, crushing on a girl like this.
"You good?" Julia asked quietly. "Yeah." I said gruffly, trying to think of literally anything else.
Luckily I was saved by the bell, and by the bell I meant my phone ringing.
"Hey, man." I answered from the screen on my dashboard.
"Hey, brother. We're here. This place is nice as fuck." Sam said causing me to chuckle.
"Glad you made it. We won't be there for a while." I said and focused on the road.
"Sounds good. Do you want us to set up traps or anything here, just in case?" He asked as I looked over at Julia.
"What do you think?" I asked as she nodded. "That's a good idea." She said quietly. "Yeah. Set some up. Thanks, man." I said with a sigh.
"You got it. Drive safe." Sam said as I nodded. "See you in a while." I said then hung up.
"Thanks." Julia said causing me to glance at her. "For what?" I asked as she shrugged, looking out the window.
It broke my heart at how tense things were between us still. It wasn't an angry tense like it was before.
It was the type of tension that felt like electricity was surrounding us.
One spark and we would explode.
We drove in silence for hours, before we finally arrived to the cabin.
When I first took over secret society, I bought a bunch of properties in case of something like this happening.
Most of the places were small and cheap, but this one was super nice.
It was in the mountains of Montana so the view was beautiful.
I looked over to see Julia, fast asleep. I didn't realize she had actually fallen asleep but I was kinda glad she did.
Julia was an emotional mess after everything that has happened and I couldn't say that I blamed her.
I parked the car then got out, grabbing our bags quietly so I wouldn't wake Julia up.
I texted Sam that we were here because I knew he set up some traps and I didn't want to fall into any of them.
"Hey, man. You're good to come in." Sam said as he opened the door.
I nodded and brought the two bags up the stairs. "Where's Jules?" Sam asked as I nudged my head towards the car.
"Sleeping in the car." I said causing him to grin. "You two getting along better?" Sam asked as I shrugged.
"Working on it." I said then turned to go get Julia.
When I lifted her up she whimpered slightly, waking up. "Morning." I said and carried her towards the house.
"Cold." She mumbled and scrunched her face while turning towards me more. "Yeah, it's pretty cold here. I'll get you some winter clothes tomorrow." I said as she nodded.
"Put me down." Julia said as I nodded and set her on her feet.
"Where are we?" She asked and rubbed her fist on her eye while we walked towards the front door.
"Another one of my properties." I explained. "It's nice." She said as Sam came into view.
"Jules!" He said and opened his arms. "Hi, Sam." She said and stepped into his embrace. "This is gonna feel like old times." He said with a laugh as she nodded.
"Yeah." She said simply then pulled away. "Which room is mine?" She asked me quietly.
"Whichever room you want." I said as she nodded and grabbed her bag, going upstairs to look for a room.
"She okay?" Sam asked as I shook my head. "Not really." I said with a sigh.
"Want me to go talk to her?" He asked as I sighed. "If you want to. We have to keep an eye on her, I'm worried she's gonna do something stupid." I said and grabbed my bag.
"Like what?" Sam asked as I pursed my lips. "Suicide." I said simply, causing his eyes to widen. "Seriously?" He asked as I nodded.
"Unfortunately." I said quietly. "I'll go talk to her." Sam said as I nodded and grabbed my bag. "Where are the others?" I asked as we went up the stairs.
"Went to the store to get some groceries. They should be back soon." He said as I nodded.
"Alright, well I'm tired so tell them we'll catch up tomorrow." I said and went into the first bedroom on the left.
It was the one I usually stayed in when I was here, but when I walked in I saw Julia sitting on the bed.
"Oh." I said causing her to look up.
"Is this your room?" She asked quietly. "No, I'll go to a different one." I said as she chewed her lip. "You sure?" She asked as I nodded.
"Yeah. Goodnight, sweetheart." I said then walked up to her and kissed her cheek. She looked up at me with dewey eyes, then looked down.
"Goodnight." She whispered as I left the room.
When I got out to the hallway, Sam was coming towards me. "Where'd she go?" He asked as I jutted my head back.
"In there. See you tomorrow." I said then walked to find a different room.
Part of me wanted to wait until the guys were here so I could explain everything.
I was just tired and we would have plenty of time to work things out.
