Sam's POV

"Julia, stop!" Colby called out as Julia walked down the hallway, a bag on her shoulder.

"Just let me go, Colby. Please." Julia said with a broken tone. "Woah woah woah! What's going on?" I asked and rushed out of my room.

"Sam, please convince her to stay." Colby said as Julia ran down the stairs. "Okay! Just wait." I said and held my hands out, telling him to stop moving.

Colby nodded as I turned to chase after Julia. I don't know where she thought she was going considering she had no fucking clue where we were but Julia was a strong willed girl.

If she wanted to get away she would.

"Jules, wait." I said with a sigh as she bee lined it to the front door. "What did he do to you?" I asked as she turned to me, eyes watering.

The look on her face broke my heart. Her jaw was trembling as her panicked eyes looked between me and the stairs we just went down.

"Did he do something to you?" I asked with disbelief.

I knew Colby still loved her so I couldn't imagine he would do anything that would hurt her or scare her like this.

"Please let me go, Sam. I need to get out of here." She said and reached for the door handle.

I noticed her hands were shaking and her skin was flushed. Whatever happened must have really freaked her out.

"You and I both know it's not a good idea for you to go off on your own." I said with a sigh as she looked around.

"I'm gonna go whether you say yes or no." She said then yanked the door open and stormed out.

"Fucking hell." I mumbled and ran my fingers through my hair.

I was gonna follow her but I knew that she just needed a minute to herself. As far as I knew she didn't have any keys to the cars so she couldn't get very far anyways.

"Sam! Why did you let her go?" Colby asked as he came down the stairs.

"What the fuck did you do to her?" I asked angrily. "What? Nothing. Did she tell you I did something?" He asked with confusion.

"She looked scared shitless. What the fuck happened?" I asked and crossed my arms.

"We were talking and she got upset and ran upstairs so I followed her and found her sobbing in her bed. I'm really worried about her so I comforted her and then she kissed me." He explained as my eyes widened.

"I kissed her back then she pulled away, grabbed her stuff and demanded that she was leaving." He explained as I shook my head.

"Back up. She kissed you?" I asked as he shrugged. "Yeah. I kissed her first a couple days ago." He said so nonchalantly I wanted to smack him upside the head.

"What the fuck happened to you guys hating eachother?" I asked as he grinned. "You know full well that I never stopped loving her." He said as I nodded.

"Yeah, I knew before you knew. You told her?" I asked as he nodded. "Yeah, and that's why we can't have her running away and getting killed." He said then walked passed me to go out the front door.

"Maybe just let her walk it out. The chances of people finding her here are slim to none." I said and followed behind him.

"I'm not taking any risks, Sam. If they get her then I can't go rescue her." He said and walked outside.

"Why not?" I asked and watched as Julia walked down the long driveway. As suspected she didn't get far at all but it was admirable that she was trying.

"Because if I do that then it shows them I care too much about her. They can't know I love her." He said as I chuckled.

"Everyone knows you love her." I said and looked over at him.

He was watching Julia with the same soft eyes I knew he had for her. My best friend never looked at anyone the way he looked at her.

It was as if she could do no wrong and that he would do anything for her.

He was truly in love with her.

That look only stayed on his face for a moment before his eyes widened and fear filled them.

"JULIA!" He screamed causing me to snap my gaze towards Julia.

She was still walking but was stumbling, her legs going weak.

"Shit." I whispered as Colby bolted towards her. I followed behind him, running towards her as she fell to the ground.

We ran as fast as we could before we found her seizing on the ground. Her skin was so pale it was nearly the same color as the fresh snow.

"Holy shit." I gasped as Colby pulled her into his arms, holding her so she wouldn't get hurt.

I had only seen her have a couple seizures but this one felt different and more intense.

"Holy shit! She still has these?!" I asked frantically as Colby nodded. "Come back, Jules. Come on." He encouraged, smoothing her hair down.

"Something isn't right, dude." I said as Julia whimpered, still seizing.

"They're bad now, Sam. Really fucking bad." He said and focused on Julia. "Come on, Jules." Colby whispered as he tucked her head under his chin.

It felt like forever that she was seizing and she just wouldn't stop.

"Why isn't she stopping?" I asked as Colby clenched his jaw. "I don't know!" He snapped, focusing so intensely on Julia,

After a couple seconds Jake and Corey came over with their bags on their shoulders. "What's going on?" Jake asked as Colby stood up with Julia in his arms.

"She's having a seizure. We have to take her to the hospital NOW." He said as my eyes widened.

It was extremely dangerous for us to go to a hospital because of what we did for a career. This must have been really serious if Colby was willing to risk his career and life like this.

When you're in the crime world there's obviously a lot of violence and with violence comes questions. That's why we can't go to hospitals.

This technically had nothing to do with the crime world though, so maybe we would be okay.

"Are we sure this is a good idea?" I asked as we rushed to the car. "I'm not letting her die." Colby said with determination.

I nodded, knowing there was no way of changing his mind. I didn't know if Julia could actually die from this, but Colby knew more about her seizures than I did.

"So are we still leaving?" Corey asked as Colby groaned. "We don't have time for stupid ass questions. Drive." He snapped as Corey nodded and started the car.

Sure, Colby was softening up and wasn't being as much of a dick but when Julia was on the line he would kill anyone in his path.

Some things just never change.

We drove in silence until we got to the nearest hospital. It was about a fifteen minute drive and Julia was still unresponsive.

"Wait here." Colby said as I shook my head. "You're not going in alone." I said as he chuckled. "It's a hospital, Sam. Not a mission." He said as I rolled my eyes.

"No, but you and I both know how dangerous is can be." I said as he nodded and got out of the car with Julia's limp body in his arms.

"It's my mess, I'll take responsibility." He said then kicked the door closed and started going inside.

"He's still in love with her, isn't he?" Corey asked as I nodded. "Yup." I said as Jake sighed.

"This just got super dangerous for us, didn't it?" He asked as I nodded. "Extremely." I said then looked at the building.

I was trying to not worry about Colby but I knew that what he was doing was dangerous.

They could suspect that he did this to her, and although it was a small chance, they could ask him questions.

Questions that would get him into trouble.

After a half hour or so, Colby was coming outside without Julia.

"What happened?" I asked as he got in the car. "Told them I found her outside and that she was unconscious. I couldn't go into detail about her epilepsy so I'm hoping they can still help her." Colby explained.

"Okay, so now what?" I asked as he sighed. "We go back to the house. I left my phone with Jules so we can text her instructions on what to do when she's ready to be picked up." Colby said and ran his hand through his hair.

He was surprisingly calm about all of this, when I expected him to be more worried.

"Are we still going?" Corey asked as Colby nodded. "Yeah. The faster we find him the better off everyone is." Colby said with a nod.

I was impressed by how sure of himself he was acting. It was as if he had a plan and was ready to take action.

Before he was so hard and wouldn't tell us anything. Now, he was including us in every move.

It felt like old times.
