Colby's POV
When Adam left I felt the anger boil within me. I hated feeling weak and I hated that he thought he had one on me.
I found myself being worried that he was actually going to kill Julia's siblings.
They had nothing to do with any of this, and it would be so easy to get to them considering he had a relationship with them.
It would absolutely kill Julia if he killed her siblings.
I could help her through a lot, but I think that would be the end for her.
I couldn't let that happen.
Hours went by, or at least what felt like hours, of me and the random guy in the corner staring at eachother.
"They're here." The guy said after a long while of silence.
"You don't fucking touch them." I said through gritted teeth. "What are you gonna do about it? You're all tied up." He said with a smile then left the room.
"Fuck." I hissed then pulled at the ropes that were tying me down.
I didn't know who was here but I knew whoever it was could get killed for something that was my fault.
If I had been more careful none of this would be happening.
"God damnit!" I yelled, trying desperately to untie myself. The ropes were just too damn tight.
As I sat there fighting myself, I could hear gunshots coming from upstairs. All I could do was keep fighting, hoping the shots weren't killing anyone on my side.
I fought for a long ass time before there was silence.
"Wow." Adam said as he came back into the room. "You must be tired from all that fighting." He said with a grin.
"Shut the fuck up." I said through gritted teeth. "I can take you upstairs so you can watch the action if you want. Julia and I are about to have some fun." He said as anger flooded my system.
"Don't fucking touch her!" I yelled and pulled against the ropes that were restraining me.
"Don't worry about her. Here. You can listen since you don't want to watch." He said and put what looked like a little radio down.
"Have fun." He said then left the room. "No! Don't fucking touch her!!" I screamed angrily.
I couldn't hear anything coming from the little radio but I had a sick feeling I would be in just a couple minutes.
"Gah!" I screamed with frustration as Adam's voice sounded through the radio.
"I'll go nice and slow, princess." He said with such a disgusting tone that I almost threw up.
I then proceeded to hear zippers being undone before I heard Adam grunting.
I didn't know if the radio was bad and that's why I couldn't hear Julia or if he was just fucking with me.
The groans and moans continued for a while before they finally stopped.
"Hope you enjoyed the show, Colby." Adam said with a laugh before the radio cut out again.
"Fuck!!" I yelled and fought more. I could feel my whole body heating up with rage.
If he really violated her, I was going to kill him with my bare hands.
There was nothing I could do at this point though. I was getting weak from all the fighting was doing.
I don't know how much time had passed before Sam was rushing into the room, sending relief through my body.
"Thank fuck." I said as he ran over to me. "Are you hurt?" Sam asked as I shrugged.
"Not really." I said as he quickly cut the rope that was bounding my arms together.
"Is Julia here?" I asked as he freed me. "Yeah, she's upstairs fighting. We have to help them." Sam said with intensity.
I could feel my stomach ache, knowing that what I heard on that radio really happened.
He violated my Julia.
So much anger and resentment was coursing my veins that I didn't hesitate to leave the room.
"Wait!" Sam called out as he followed me. "What?" I asked and turned to him. "I think you'll need this." He said and handed me a gun.
"Thanks, man." I said then turned to go up the stairs.
When we got up there, you could hear the grunts of fighting.
Jake was fighting off one guy while Corey held his side. He was bleeding profusely but was trying to keep fighting.
I clenched my jaw and scanned the room, seeing a guy holding Julia up against the wall with a gun to her head.
I could see how bad she was struggling to get him off of her but she just wasn't strong enough.
As soon as I heard her whimper with fear I clenched my jaw and shot the guy in the head.
There was a certain satisfaction as the guy fell to the ground, all life being sucked out of him.
Julia stared at me for a second with tears in her eyes before she ran and wrapped her arms tightly around my neck, hiding her face in my shoulder.
"I thought you were dead." She whispered as I held her tightly, resting my cheek on her head.
"I'm here." I whispered and scratched her back gently.
She was trembling so bad and she was holding onto me like her life depended on it.
It broke my heart.
We stood like that for a second before she pulled away and put her hand on my cheek.
"Are you okay?" She asked quietly, looking into my eyes. "Yeah, I'm okay. Are you?" I asked as she nodded.
"I am now." She said so quietly I almost didn't hear her.
I nodded and looked into her eyes, feeling my heart clench with how beautiful and brave she was.
"Um, guys?!" Sam asked causing us to pull away from eachother.
"We need to go." He said and looked at all of the bodies around us.
"Come on, sweetheart." I said and took Julia's hand, leading the way out of the room.
"Where's Adam?" Sam asked me as we walked. "I don't know." I said as Julia gasped.
"What's wrong?" I asked and looked back at her. "He said he felt bad I wouldn't be able to say goodbye." She said frantically.
"He's going to kill my siblings." She said shakily. "Okay. You two bring Julia to my apartment." I said to Jake and Corey.
"Sam and I will go make sure your siblings are okay." I said as looked at Sam. "We only have the one car." He explained as we walked outside.
"I'll highjack one of theirs. They won't be needing it." I said and jutted my head back to the house filled with dead men.
"Good to have you back, man." Sam said as I nodded. "Thanks for coming to my rescue." I said with a chuckle then turned to Julia.
"Please keep them safe." She whispered, her eyes watering. "I promise I'll try." I said then kissed her forehead.
"Keep her safe." I said and looked at Jake and Corey. "She's a badass she doesn't need us." Jake said with a laugh.
"You're right." I said then turned to Sam. "We need to hurry." I said then walked towards one of the cars in the driveway.
We needed to hurry not only because the kids were in danger but because we were in a suburban neighborhood.
Anyone could call the cops at any moment.
It had been a while since I have hijacked a car but it was like riding a bike.
Once you learn how to do it you never forget.
"Fuck yeah." I said as the car started. "You've still got it." Sam said as I nodded. "Sometimes." I said then opened the door.
"Let's go." I said and got in the drivers seat. "Do you think he would really kill Julia's siblings?" Sam asked as I nodded.
"He's a nutcase. A total embarrassment to the crime world." I said as Sam nodded. "Yeah, he seems unhinged." He said as I drove.
"Extremely." I said and sped down the road. Adam seemed to be really calculated but very twisted.
He was obsessed with Julia and was obsessed with making me angry.
He needed to be taken out.
When we got to Julia's mom's house it seemed like everything was normal. Adam's car wasn't even here which was unsettling.
"We need to check on them." I said as Sam nodded. "I'll go pretend to be a door to door salesman or something." He said as I nodded.
"I'll be ready to jump in if something happens." I said as he got out of the car.
"I trust you." He said with a grin then made his way towards the house.
I watched as Julia's mom opened the door. She had a big smile on her face, which made me feel nothing but anger.
I hated that she got to live her life with no repercussions. She got to have the sweet children that Julia loved so much.
She didn't deserve such happiness.
Sam talked to her for a couple minutes before she was closing the door and walking back to the car.
"I heard some of the kids and she didn't seem to be frazzled or in any sort of danger." Sam explained as he got in the car.
"So what did he mean?" I asked, mostly to myself. "I think maybe he was just trying to scare Julia." Sam said as I shook my head.
Something was wrong and he was clearly planning something.
I just had to figure out what it was.
