"Are you sure it's safe for you to get back out there?" I asked as Colby cleaned up the mess we made from dinner.
"It's never safe out there, darling." Colby said with a grin. "Don't smile about that." I grumbled and walked over to him.
"Just trying to make things easier to grasp." He said quietly as I wrapped my arms around his waist, resting my head on his chest.
"I've been dealing with this for a while, you don't need to pretend." I said and looked up at him. "Yeah, I guess I just don't want you to worry." He said and carefully brushed my hair from my face.
"I'll always worry." I said as he cupped my cheek and kissed my forehead.
"Try not to." He said quietly. "We should probably get to bed. It's gonna be a busy day tomorrow." Colby said then pulled away from, walking towards the bedroom.
I turned to follow but gasped at the sharp pain between my legs.
"Are you okay?" Colby asked as I closed my eyes from the pain.
"It hurts." I mumbled as he came over to me. "What hurts?" He asked and put his hands on my upper arms.
I sighed and pointed between my legs causing his face to shift. There was so much anger in his eyes that I actually flinched back.
"I'm gonna kill him." He said lowly. "I would encourage that behavior." I said quietly. "Bed." I said and pointed to the bedroom.
Colby nodded then put his hand on my lower back and led the way towards the bedroom.
I tried to ignore the pain that was radiating through my core since there was nothing I could do about it.
"Do you think there will be a scar on your face?" I asked and sat on the bed, watching as he stripped his shirt off.
"Not sure. I think it would be kinda badass if there was one though." Colby said as I looked at his abs, feeling a small smirk form on my lips.
Sure, I always knew Colby was attractive, but right now I couldn't help but stare.
"I missed that." Colby hummed as he got in bed with me. "Missed what?" I asked and scooted towards him.
"That cute far off look you get when you stare at me." He said and wrapped his arms around me.
"You didn't have to let me go." I said with a sigh. "Yeah, learned that lesson a couple years too late." He said then kissed my head.
"Get some rest, sweetheart." He said with a yawn. "Will you be here when I wake up?" I asked and looked up at him.
"Yeah, I'll be here." He said and gently scratched my back.
"Perfect. Goodnight." I said and rested my head on his chest.
I had to admit that after such a hard day, cuddling with Colby was the best way to end it.
I ended up falling asleep almost instantly, since I was absolutely exhausted.
I woke up to a loud thud in the next room over, causing me to bolt up.
"Can you not make so much fucking noise? Jules is sleeping." Colby hissed with annoyance.
"He's back to being fucking whipped." Corey teased as Sam chuckled. "Yeah, I missed this version of you." He said as I got out of bed and stretched.
I could hear the guys talking in the other room but I didn't care to listen to them anymore.
I quietly made my way to the bathroom so I could get myself ready for the day. I gasped, looking in the mirror to see bruises on my arm.
It was probably from when that guy was holding me against the wall. I really thought I was going to die in that situation.
If Colby waited just one second, then I would be dead.
I shook my head then grabbed my toothbrush and started brushing my teeth.
Once I was done with that I brushed my hair and washed my face then went to greet the guys in the living room.
"There she is." Sam said with a grin. "Good morning." I said and walked over to Colby. "Good morning, sweetheart." He said then kissed me.
"Woah. I thought you guys weren't dating." Jake said as Colby chuckled.
"We're not." I said with a shrug. "What?" Colby asked with confusion. "I don't remember you asking me." I said then turned towards the fridge.
"Damn, Jules. Playing hard to get." Corey said as I nodded. "What's the plan?" I asked and turned to them after grabbing a water bottle.
"We don't really have a real plan yet. You and Jake are gonna stay here and the rest of us are going to the secret society base." Colby said as I narrowed my eyes.
"I thought they weren't allowed down there." I said as Colby shrugged. "I'm in charge. They can go down there." He said as I nodded.
"No fair. I want to go down there." Jake said and crossed his arms. "Why can't we all go?" I asked and sat on the counter.
"Because as you've mentioned, Will is acting suspicious. I won't bring you down there until I get it sorted out what he's up to." Colby said as I nodded.
"You can come with us tomorrow." Colby said to Jake causing him to smile. "Fuck yeah." He said then looked over at me.
"Sorry, Jules." He apologized. "It's all good. It's gonna be boring here." I said with a shrug.
"I'll bring stuff for you to do when I come back tonight." Colby said then walked over to me.
"Okay. You guys going now?" I asked as he nodded. "I'll be back later tonight. I left you a burner phone. Call me if you need anything." He said then put his hand on my cheek and kissed me.
"I love you." He said as I grinned. "I love you, too." I whispered then looked over at the guys.
They were staring at us with confused looks on their faces.
"Yeah, it's confusing. Just go along with it." Colby said the grabbed his keys. "Let's go." He said then led the way to the front door.
"See ya later, Jules." Sam said as he and Corey followed Colby.
"Be safe." I said and waved, watching them leave. "So...y'all are fucking?" Jake asked causing me to laugh.
"No." I said then hopped off of the counter. "Sorry you have babysitting duty." I said and went to sit next to him on the couch.
"As long as I get to join in on the fun tomorrow, I'm good." Jake said with a chuckle.
"I can be fun." I said and crossed my arms. "Yeah? What do you want to do?" He asked as I shrugged.
"We can get wasted off of Colby's expensive liquor." I said and pointed to Colby's liquor cabinet.
"That sounds kinda scary." Jake said as I shrugged. "He's harmless." I said then stood up and walked over to the cabinet.
"It's literally ten in the morning." Jake said as I narrowed his eyes. "Since when am I the fun one? Time is irrelevant when you're trapped in a luxury apartment." I said then grabbed the bottle of tequila that was closest.
"Join if you want." I said then took a sip. "That's like really expensive." Jake said as I nodded. "Yeah, you can tell." I said and nodded at how smooth it was.
"Not to be that guy, but are you supposed to be drinking after taking that pill you got last night?" Jake asked as I hummed.
"Great question, Jake." I said then went to the kitchen trash can and pulled out the container.
"Doesn't say anything about not being able to drink." I said with a shrug. "Good. We don't need any little Colby's running around." Jake said as I shook my head.
"It wouldn't be his." I said quietly. "Oh...oh! Uh..sorry Jules." Jake said as I shook my head.
"It's all good." I said then took another swig from the bottle.
"It's not. It never will be." He said as I held the bottle out to him.
"I don't want to talk about this." I said and held the bottle out to him. "I really shouldn't, in case someone breaks in." Jake said as I shook my head.
"Nobody is gonna break in. I'm not gonna force you though, that's not cool." I said as he chuckled. "I'll take a shot in solidarity." Jake said then took the bottle so he could take a shot.
"I need some food." I said and put my hand on my stomach, feeling it rumble. "Maybe tacos to go with your tequila?" Jake suggested.
"NO. No tacos." I said and sat on the couch. "Maybe a pizza or twelve." I said, already feeling a bit of a buzz from the two shots I've taken.
"Alright, I'll order them when the pizza places open." Jake said then stood up, going over to the kitchen.
"How about some..shit..all he has is protein powder." Jake said and went through Colby's cabinets.
"That's hot as fuck." I said with a laugh. "Gross. Yeah, you'll just have to wait." He said as I nodded.
"I can do that." I said then put the tequila down. I didn't need to be getting plastered just yet.
I could pace myself since I was going to be trapped in this apartment all damn day.
