"I don't wanna get up." I mumbled as I ran my fingers through Colby's hair.
"We don't have to." Colby said quietly and looked up at me. "I want to shower." I said as he grinned.
"Say less." He said then got up, pulling out of me. "Are you gonna come with?" I asked as he chuckled.
"Hell yeah, I am." He said then scooped me up causing me to laugh.
"You want to go again?" I asked as he nodded. "Every minute of every day." He said then carried me to the shower.
When we got there we ended up having a steamy shower with a couple happy endings sprinkled in there.
"You look tired." Colby said as I brushed my wet hair out. "I wonder why." I said as he chuckled and walked over to me.
"I wish this could always be our lives." Colby said as he wrapped his arms around me from behind, looking at me through the mirror in front of us.
"What? Constantly having sex. I don't think I can handle that." I said as he chuckled.
"No. Just us together. No crime or people out to get us." He said as I sighed and leaned my head back to rest on his chest.
"One day. We just have to survive to see it." I said as he kissed my head. "One day." He repeated then unwrapped his arms from me.
"When will I be able to actually leave this apartment?" I asked with a sigh.
"When I think it's safe. I can bring you to base tomorrow so you can at least be in a different setting." He said as I nodded.
"Have you figured out what's going on with Will?" I asked as he shook his head.
"I can't find anything. Maybe he was really being honest about not wanting you to be around this shit." Colby said with a sigh.
"He thinks of you like a daughter. It really could be it." He said as we made our way to the bedroom again.
"Maybe. I was also on edge so I could have just been weary of him." I said with a sigh.
"I'm gonna keep an eye on him." He said then came over and kissed my forehead. "Try not to worry about it. Are you wanting to come with me tomorrow?" He asked as I nodded.
"Yes, please." I said as we turned and got into bed. "Okay, we'll leave in the morning." He said and wrapped his arms around me.
"I'm gonna bring my painting stuff." I said with a smile. "Paint me something for my office." He said then kissed my head.
"I can do that." I said with a small smile. "Goodnight, sweetheart." He said then kissed my forehead.
"Goodnight, Colby." I said then closed my eyes and laid my head on his chest.
I fell asleep listening to the sound of Colby's heartbeat.
We had been through a lot and it was never certain that we would love to see another day with the work Colby was involved in.
I wish it could be different.
"Julia." Colby mumbled as he nudged my shoulder. "Hmm?" I groaned, being pulled out of the dreamless sleep I was in.
"Did you still want to come with me?" He asked as I cracked my eyes open. "Yeah." I mumbled and sat up, rubbing my eyes.
"We're gonna leave once you're ready." He said as I nodded. "Give me ten minutes." I said then got out of bed.
"Woah! Wait a minute." Colby said causing my eyes to widen. "What?!" I asked as he rushed over to the bedroom door and closed it.
"The guys are here. Don't want them to see you naked." He said as I chuckled. "Right. I don't want to scar them." I said then turned to go to the closet.
"And I don't want to kill them." He said then leaned against the door so I he could watch me walk to the closet.
"They aren't a threat to you." I said with a laugh then went to get some clothes on.
Once I was dressed I went into the bathroom so I could wash my face and brush my teeth.
My hair was kinda crazy looking because I slept on it wet, but didn't care enough to do anything about it.
"Okay, I'm ready." I said oncd I was done getting ready. "I put all your painting stuff in a bag for you to take with." Colby said as I smiled.
"Thank you." I said then kissed him. I still couldn't wrap my head around how quickly my mind changed about Colby.
I thought I would never forgive him for what he did.
I hated him for years for what he did but now I felt like I could trust him.
I believed him when he said he wouldn't hurt me again. It was a dangerous game to be playing but there was nobody else I would rather play it with.
"Hey, Jules." Sam said as Colby and I walked out into the living room. "Hey." I said and waved.
"I heard you were coming with us." Corey said as I nodded.
"I'm breaking free." I said and looked at Colby. "Not really. You're gonna be sitting with me." He said as I nodded.
"Sounds good to me." I said with a shrug. "Jake and Corey are heading back to LA today." Sam said to Colby.
"Things getting tough out there?" He asked as we left the apartment.
"Yeah, I would go back but I want to be here when shit hits the fan." Sam said with a grin.
"Hopefully it won't hit the fan completely. I just want to find this fucker." Colby said with a sigh.
"I wish we could stay to kick some ass." Jake grumbled. "You can kick ass in LA." Sam said as we made our way to the elevator.
"Yeah, that's a good point." Jake said with a nod. "It's gonna be boring here for a while anyways. Until we can find Adam which could take forever." Colby said with a sigh.
I could tell Colby was getting frustrated by all of this but was trying to stay positive. It had to have been hard being the one in charge during all of this.
When we got downstairs we said goodbye to Jake and Corey since they were going to go to LA and we were going to the secret society base.
I felt bad for Sam because he felt like he needed to be here for Colby.
Sam ran his gang so well though that he felt comfortable enough to leave them which made me proud.
I knew the circumstances sucked and that Colby probably regretted every part of the decision he made to be where he was but it gave Sam a chance to shine.
Both he and Colby were amazing leaders but they knew they worked better together.
"What's our plan for today?" Sam asked as we drove to base.
"I have to make drug routes and assign tasks for the day then I think we are gonna go scoping out." Colby said then glanced at me.
"I'll be locked away." I said causing him to laugh. "Yeah. You'll be locked in my office so you can paint in peace." He said then winked and focused on the road again.
"Are you happy to be out of the house, Jules?" Sam asked as I nodded. "Ecstatic." I said with a smile then looked out the window.
When we got to base we got out of the car and made our way down the alleyway. "Don't talk to anyone while you're down here." Colby said as I nodded.
"I know the drill." I said as he took my hand. I kept my eyes down as we walked down the hallway.
"Mr. Brock." A guy said as he passed. Colby just nodded at the guy and kept walking.
It was always so funny seeing Colby change his demeanor when he was around his gang.
With me he was usually soft and gentle, making sure I was okay and loved.
When he was down here, his face was hard and he hardly spoke to anyone. If he did he was usually a huge dick.
It was how he had to be though.
"I'll only be a couple minutes, then we are gonna leave." Colby said to Sam as we walked into his office.
"No biggie. I'll help Jules set up her paints." Sam said with a grin as I sat down.
"What do you think I should paint, Sam?" I asked and started pulling my paints out. "Uhhh...paint your future." He said and sat next to me.
"My future?" I asked as he nodded. "Yeah. That could be cool." He said as I nodded. "I'll see what I can do." I said with a grin then looked at Colby.
He was focusing on his work so hard that his eye brow was creating creases in his forehead.
I hated how stressed he would get about all of this, but I couldn't blame him. There was just so much pressure on him.
Sam and I mostly got our paints set out before there was a loud knock on the door, causing me to jump.
Colby's jaw clenched as he glanced at me. There was so much intensity in his eyes as he got up and went towards the door.
"What?" He asked and swung it open, revealing Jeremy.
"You're gonna wanna see this." Jeremy said as his eyes flickered to me.
