Colby's POV

"Are you sure this is a good idea?" Nate asked as I nodded, staring at the computer in front of me.

The guys and I have been working through ideas on how to stay ahead of the gang that was holding Julia hostage.

I didn't like how long this was taking because I knew Julia was probably scared out of her mind.

I wanted to storm over to the house and kill anyone in my path but it just wasn't that easy.

We had to plan.

Nate's "appointment" with Julia was in two days so we didn't have much time to fully solidify a plan but we were working on it.

Over the course of the two weeks I've been slowly trying to collect stuff from Will.

Whether it was me going through his office to find physical papers, or me sending someone to stalk.

The only true information I got was a contact for someone named Joey. I assumed he was a part of the gang that was holding Julia hostage.

I just wish I had more information on the guy.

"As far as I can see there are two access points. Where did you say Julia's room was?" I asked and looked up at Nate.

"I'm the heart of the house. No windows." He said as I nodded. "They planned for this." I hummed then took my glasses off.

"I'm gonna call Sam real quick." I said then grabbed my phone.

Sam has been amazing throughout this whole which was expected, but the fact he's taken so much time out of his day and away from LA means a lot.

"Hey, man." Sam answered after a couple seconds. "Hey, have there been any deliveries or anything to the house?" I asked and leaned back in my chair.

"No. I saw Will though." Sam said as I rolled my eyes. "Stupid bitch. I can't wait to fucking kill him." I said with a sigh. "Tell me about it." I said as someone knocked on my door.

"What?" I asked blandly, lowering my phone slightly. "Sorry to bother you." Jason, one of my men, said as he poked his head in. "What is it?" I asked as he glanced at Nate.

I could tell he was hesitant to tell me what was happening.

I knew that it was weird to have someone not in our gang in my office, but I needed Nate to help me formulate a plan since he knew the most about this house.

"God damn it." I said then stood up and handed my phone to Nate. "We'll talk in the conference room." I grumbled then gestured for Jason to lead the way.

When we got to the conference room I closed the door, crossing my arms. "What?" I asked blandly.

"This was by the elevator." He said and held up an envelope.

"Did you check the cameras to see who sent it?" I asked and took it from him. "I didn't see anyone." He said as I narrowed my eyes.

"I'll check for myself. Anything else?" I asked as he shook his head. "Great." I said then turned to leave the room.

"Actually..why are we allowing people not in the gang to be down here?" He asked as I rolled my eyes.

"Like I said, we're thinking about merging." I said then turned and left the room without another word.

I was annoyed that people were even questioning it because it gave off the vibes that we were up to something.

I didn't want Will to catch wind of anything suspicious, which was hard because I was incredibly pissed off at him and wanted to kill him every time I saw him.

It didn't bother me that he was betraying me, because unfortunately I was used to that.

I was incredibly angry that he would do this to Julia. He's known her since she was a child and he was willing to bring her to a brothel to work.

It was incredibly fucked up.

"What's going on?" Nate asked as I walked back into my office. "Someone left a note." I said then sat behind my desk so I could look at the camera footage.

"A note?" He asked as I nodded and opened it, revealing scribbled handwriting.

We know what you're up to.

"Fuck." I grumbled and rolled my eyes. It was imperative that we weren't caught onto but clearly we weren't being careful enough.

"Do you know who could have left this?" Nate asked as I shook my head.

"Jason said he didn't see anyone in the footage which means one of two things." I said then looked up at him.

"Someone else from the inside is involved, or these people are more ahead than I thought." I said as he nodded.

"I can see if the footage was tampered with." He said then stood up.

"If it was tampered with then I can try to restore the footage." I said as he nodded and came over to check the footage with me.

"It was definitely tampered with, because look at that. No letter....then letter." He said and pointed to the screen.

In the footage you could clearly see some sort of cut, where someone put the letter.

I knew that since this had happened that someone from the inside was doing it, but it could have been Will who I knew was a part of this.

"Hold on, I can restore the data." Nate said then typed something into the computer. "There." He said and pointed to the new footage.

"Fuck." I mumbled, watching as Jeff set the letter outside the door, before running away.

"I'm going to kill so many fucking people, it's not even funny." I said then stood up and started pacing.

I was starting to get a little nervous about all of this, because these people knew how I operated and how I would tackle the situation.

No matter how hard I tried, I would always be steps behind.

"We need to do this sooner. They're going to think I'm coming when you are scheduled." I said then stopped and looked at him.

"So when do we go?" He asked as I grabbed my jacket. "Right now." I said as his eyes widened. "We aren't ready for that, dude. They'll kill you." He said as I shook my head.

"Let them. I don't care if you guys come with me, I have to do this before it's too late." I said then grabbed my phone and started calling Sam.

"Hey, man." He answered as I put my jacket on. "Change in plans. We're going tonight." I said with intensity.

"Are you fucking insane?" He asked as I shook my head. "They're onto us and we need to strike when they least expect it. Which is now." I said as he sighed.

"I'll come pick you up." He said after a couple seconds of silence. I was grateful that he wasn't questioning it, and that he was just going to go with it.

I could tell by his tone that he wasn't overly happy with the idea but he was at least going to hear me out.

There was no changing my mind though. I had been letting these people fuck with Julia for way too long.

Sure, it was because I thought that I needed to be ahead but I realized now that there was no getting ahead.

I needed to act now.

"Colby, it's just not a good idea." Nate said as we walked down the hallway. "Stop talking." I said and continued on my path.

It wasn't because I wanted to be mean to Nate, or that I was mad at him, I just didn't know who was listening.

When we got up to the alleyway we waited until Sam pulled up.

It made me sick to think about how close Julia was this entire time. She was in my grasp but was behind some very dangerous doors.

When Sam and Jeremy got here, Nate and I got in the car. Before any of them could speak I was pulling my gun out and putting it to Jeremy's head.

"I'm only going to ask this once. Are you working with them?" I asked with a menacing tone. "No. I'm working with this, I promise." Jeremy said with sincerity.

I wanted to fully believe him, but after all of this I was weary to truly believe anyone.

Jeremy has been more than willing to help though so I had to believe him a little bit.

"You better not be lying about that." I said then pulled my gun away.

"What's with the change of heart?" Sam asked, not driving off yet.

"Secret society has turned against me. Some of them are on the other side. That's why we're always steps behind." I explained.

"That's fucked up." Sam said as I nodded. "Yeah, it is. So we're striking tonight. If you don't want to join, I'm doing it with or without the help." I explained as Sam chuckled.

"There's no way in hell you're doing it alone." He said with a grin. "So you're okay with this?" I asked with a hint of disbelief.

"I've been waiting for you to lose your patience." He said then started to drive.

"Now that you have, let's kick some ass." Sam said then sped down the road and towards the house that would seal my fate.
