Chapter 1776 First of Many Contributions (1)
Tang Shaoyang watched the commander trying to understand his domain and also the change because of his domain. He expected Edson's reaction, just like the others when they faced his domain. It was the white-haired man who did something that the others did not do.
It seemed like the commander figured out how he neutralized the area from the void energy. After fulfilling his curiosity, the commander brought them to the post zero right below them. The change he brought with the domain alerted the people inside the post zero. They were greeted with armed force, everyone was ready to fight in their bloodline transformation until they saw Commander Edson.
The elite guards, which was how Commander Edson described them, rushed toward the man and complained. Soon the complaint turned into an inquiry, asking what happened. Except for the furniture inside the quarters and their personal belongings, everything turned white. They thought it was some kind of the Void Cult's trick so they were prepared to fight.
"It's Administrator Tang Shaoyang's doing. It's his skill to cleanse the area from the void poison, so you don't need your stupid mask as long as you are in the white-marked area. I believe the cleansing is permanent, right, Administrator Tang Shaoyang?" Commander Edson turned toward Tang Shaoyang after explaining what happened.
"It still needs time to make it permanent. I need to maintain my domain for at least three or maybe four days, then it should be permanent." Tang Shaoyang nodded. There was no explanation as to why he needed time to make it permanent, but the news was received well by the other guards.
All the guards simultaneously took off their masks and threw them to the ground as they cheered. Some of them even stomped the mask, destroying them in the process.
"Alright, disperse! Back to your post and don't bother them!" Commander Edson clapped his hand three times and dispersed the crowd. He left with the others after the farewell with Tang Shaoyang, leaving Atkins and The Reds.
Even though the administrator seemed to be friendly, Atkins did not dare to act friendly and casual with them. The image of administrator in his mind was high, the elite force that had been battling the nasty Void Cult.
Everyone, at least most of the alliances and factions had been battling with the Void Cult. They always failed to root them out, especially for The Emperors. Every time they would lose, they would retreat to the Void Realm. The unknown realm that no one dared to venture into. Many brave God Ranks tried, but no one returned. They assumed those people died, even someone with rare Void Elemental Power did not return once they entered the Void Realm.
Captain Atkins was quiet as he brought them to tour the post zero. First, he brought them to their living quarters. They were given eleven rooms in total, two people shared one room, and Tang Shaoyang got an exclusive room for himself since there were exactly twenty-one people.
Captain Atkins told them there were one hundred and twenty-three people in the post right now. It comprised nine squads and one commander. The remaining people were the cooks, cleaners, blacksmiths, and others with specific professions that were needed to maintain the housing and help the guards to sustain in this harsh environment.
After showing the living quarters, Atkins brought them to the kitchen. Then they were introduced to the alchemist if they needed potions, the blacksmith if they needed to keep their equipment in good condition, and even there was a bar for the guards to drink. Of course, they could not use all these facilities for free, they still needed to pay. Especially because they were not part of the Hurakan Legion.
They parted ways with Captain Atkins after the tour of the quarters. The others returned to their own room, trying to adjust to their new house. They would live in this place at least for four years. Maybe some of them liked this place and would stay longer than their mission, who knew? Castor did not waste his time as he mingled with the other guards at the bar. The guy was a heavy drinker, and he would not miss the chance to taste a new beer in this new land.
Tang Shaoyang also went on his way, going up to the wall. Leaning on top of the wall, his eyes fixed on the Void Gate.
