Chapter 1786 Commander Edson Suspicion (2)
"Is your captain still alive?" Commander Edson asked the woman next to him. He did not remember her name, and maybe he should start to remember their names because they were quite capable, not less than his elite guards. Even though they had an ugly start where one of them almost died getting overwhelmed by the void creatures.
It had been a week since the horde started attacking, and he drilled them on how to fend against the horde when they were getting outnumbered. In fact, they were doing much better considering this was their first time fighting the void creature horde.
Ira pierced the deformed wolf that jumped at her. Her spear impaled the wolf in the air, and she tossed the body away as she immediately got ready for more. At the same time, she opened the party menu and saw Tang Shaoyang's name was still in the party, indicating her captain was still alive.
In that small window of time, she checked whether her captain was still alive or not. In fact, she did it perfectly until the next attack from the void creature. It did not distract her from the fight, and the reason was simple. Commander Edson kept asking her every one or two hours, asking whether her captain was alive or dead.
"He is still alive, but still no reply!" @@novelbin@@
At first, she was annoyed that Commander Edson kept asking her about her captain amidst the battle. But she had gotten used to it and no longer got bothered or distracted from the question. It had been a week, and she did not see a decrease in the attack intensity. It was as if she was fighting an unlimited horde.
The area might be neutralized from the void poison, but they were fighting the source of this void poison. Everyone still needed the mask for the fight, but Castor did not wear a mask. Of course, it was possible for Castor to do so if he had Void Elemental Power. It might be rare, but it was not something unheard of. However, he could not be suspicious that the man might be part of the Void Cult.
He tried to convince himself that the man was part of the administrator, but he remained unsettled with no confirmation. "Can you stay, Castor?"
Everyone looked toward Castor when his name was called out, especially Ira. She narrowed her eyes with a face asking what he did this time. Castor himself did not know whether he made a mistake or not.
Noticing the atmosphere, Commander Edson immediately cleared the confusion. "There's something I want to talk about with Castor. Don't worry, he doesn't make mistakes or anything. I am not going to punish him or anything, just a little conversation."
Castor met with Commander Edson, and deep inside, he was nervous even though Commander Edson stated that it was not about his mistake. In fact, that just made him even more nervous. Especially when he looked at Commander Edson's expression, solemn as if it was something serious.
"I don't have prejudice against people with dark skin or people with mixed blood, but I just want confirmation that you are not part of the Void Cult. Name your faction and where you come from, your world?" Edson went straight to the issue.
Castor furrowed his brow, processing Edson's words, and he understood why Commander Edson looked so serious. He then looked at his own skin, then he remembered the Void Cult's member he met in Sulan. They had similar skin after he turned into a calamity.
"I..." He was about to explain what happened to him, but then he furrowed his brow, realizing that he almost made a blunder. "I will explain it when our captain is with us, Commander Edson. I think he knows more about me than myself. But I dare to guarantee that I am not part of the Void Cult. I am a descendant of the Justesen Family from Enidore. I think you will be more familiar with Spyros Bach Justesen of Enidore Dominion, he is my grandfather."
