Zachariah really became a terrible son in his mother’s view.

“Mom, maybe you can go there tomorrow. I have something to talk with Ophelia.”

Mrs. Chambers glanced at him and finally nodded in compromise.

Zachariah sent her back to the old house of the Chambers house. He happened to see there was a flower shop along the road and bought a bunch of ninety-nine roses, extraordinarily fiery and dazzling.

When Ophelia opened the door, she was surprised to found there was a huge bunch of roses and she got even more surprised to find it was Zachariah who brought it here.

She suddenly said out of astonishment, “Did one of your admirers send you this? There seems to be ninety-nine roses. Maybe she wants to show that she likes to be with you for the rest of the time.”

Zachariah flushed and put the roses in her arms clumsily, saying, “This is for you.”

Ophelia was astonished and couldn’t believe her eyes when looking at Zachariah, asking, “Mr. Chambers, what’s wrong with you today?”

Zachariah almost got angry, “It’s natural for a husband to send his wife gift. Why you are so surprised?”

Ophelia suddenly laughed and showed a happy smile, “Mr. Chambers, thank you for the roses, but I don’t know what for.”

“What do you think my purpose is?” Zachariah stared at her.

Ophelia held the flowers tightly in her arms, saying, “Mr. Chambers, are you hinting that you want to be together with me forever by sending me so many roses?”

Zachariah simply looked at her and didn’t answer.

Ophelia felt a bit disappointed.

Although they were joking as if nothing happened, both of them knew that Cora was the barrier between them. Cora got in hospital now, which increased the time for Zachariah to be with her. She was afraid that their marriage would be at risk again.

Ophelia pretended to cough on the couch and finally asked, “Mr. Chambers, how is Miss Fletcher?”

“She’s awake now.”

“What about her child?”

“She lost that child.”

Ophelia remained silent for a while and said, “I am sorry.”

Zachariah looked at her and waved his hands towards her, saying, “Come here.”

Ophelia looked up at him and got a bit angry. However, she couldn’t control herself for walking towards him.

Zachariah grabbed her hands and put her on his thigh. He carefully put his arms around her wrist from behind and laid his head on her shoulder, asking, “Why are you being so indifferent?”

Ophelia shook her head and was in a mood.

“Are you angry?”

Ophelia turned around. The distance between Zachariah got so close that they almost touched each other. Zachariah could notice her anxiety.

“Well, it seems you really get angry with me?” Zachariah deliberately lowered his voice and made it sound attractive.

Ophelia bit on his lip and held his arms tightly, then she said in a choked voice, “Zachariah, I don’t want to divorce with you. Soon we will have our baby and can have a happy life.”

Zachariah’s heart hurt so much when hearing her words.

He slightly petted her head and said, “You are such a fool. Who said that we’re going to get divorced?”

“You will definitely choose to divorce with me with all things happened on Miss. Fletcher. You will come back to her. After all, I am just her substitute in your mind.”

Zachariah found his heart got more painful because he felt guilty for this considerate girl in front of him.

He never noticed that there were so many good things on her.

“My little foo! Stop wandering.” Zachariah didn’t know how to comfort her.

Ophelia simply held his neck tightly.

A flicker of disappointment passed over Ophelia’s eyes. She asked in a low voice, “So you are still planning to divorce with me, right?”

Zachariah remained silent.

The rims around Ophelia went red. She wanted to get away from his hug but he embraced her more tightly.

“Don’t move. Let me hug you for a while.” Zachariah sniffed on her neck.

Ophelia leaned in his arms docilely and felt complex.

Zachariah touched her hair and asked, “What’s wrong? You’re so quiet.”

Ophelia shook her head and asked bitterly, “How long can our peaceful life last?”

“As long as you wish.”

Ophelia heard this got sadder, asking, “Really?”

Zachariah smiled and said in a gentle voice, “Your mind is wandering all day. You don’t have to worry about anything when you are having a baby.”

Ophelia buried herself in his arm.

Suddenly, a phone ring broke the silence. Ophelia looked up at Zachariah, while the latter one gave her a sorry look and picked up the phone.

It was from Mrs. Fletcher, “Zach, can you come back quickly? Cora is emotional when waking up and finding you are not here. She struggled so hard that the place where she got injection started bleeding.”
