After she ran out of the office, Madeleine walked into the elevator under Carson’s secretary’s gaze. She went downstairs and left without telling her editor.

When she got into her car, Madeleine touched her own lips involuntarily as her heart was still pounding.

"Carson, what do you mean by doing that?" Madeleine thought to herself with a stirring of hope, but in fact, she was more puzzled than expectant.

She ran her fingers through her long hair fretfully and said to herself, "Darn it! Carson, you evil creature. You know you’re handsome and that very few women can refuse you, but you still played that badger game with me. If you dare to fool with me, I’ll let you know what a great fighter Madeleine is!"

Madeleine had done the trash talk, but she was still blushing like a schoolgirl.

Since Madeleine was still flustered, she tried a lot of times to get the car key in and snapped, "Carson, you’re a disaster. If I have a car crash today, you’ll be the one to blame. You bring me bad fortune."

A handsome guy was dear, love dearer, but both could be given up for life.

Finally, Madeleine drove back to her apartment. She parked the car, went up with the elevator and got into her apartment. Whining, she put her head in her hands and cried, "What shall I do? It’s just a kiss, but my head is full of him. Damn!"

Madeleine lay down on the sofa, held the pillow and tossed and turned. She took out her phone and dialed a number. When the call was answered, she asked in despair, "Honey, I seem to have a crush on a man. What shall I do now?"

Ophelia, who was with Zachariah, was shocked to hear that.

As far as Ophelia knew, Madeleine was steadfastly single, and it was very rare to hear her saying she had a crush on some man.

"What did you just say, Madeleine?" Ophelia wanted to make sure she didn’t mishear Madeleine.

"Honey, I’m finished. I seem to have fallen in love with a man I shouldn’t."

But the only question Ophelia had in mind was, "You’ve fallen in love with a married man?"

"What are you talking about, honey? Am I that kind of girl? I’m much better than that," said Madeleine in vexation.

Ophelia replied, "Alright, alright. I’ll come to your place this afternoon. Fix me something to eat and don’t starve your godson or goddaughter, whatever."

Madeleine agreed, "I see. I’ll fix you a lot of food. Come quick."

When Ophelia hung up, Zachariah threw a glance at her and asked, "What happened?"

"Finally, Madeleine has a crush on someone. Suddenly, I feel like I’m sending the girl I brought up to some other man," Ophelia sighed.

Zachariah wiped Ophelia’s lips with a napkin and said, "Don’t be silly. Let me buy you some new clothes."

Ophelia looked up at him and asked, "Why?"

"Isn’t it normal for a husband to buy new clothes for his wife?"

Ophelia nodded. "It’s normal, but you’ve never done such a normal thing to me before, Mr. Chambers. You asked your secretary to buy new clothes for me, or I went to buy new clothes myself. Do you know what size I wear?"

"What do you think?"

Ophelia shrugged.

"I know everything about your body. I can’t be clearer about your chest, waist and hips. So you tell me if I know what size you wear."

Blushing, Ophelia punched Zachariah on the chest and grumbled, "Hey, behave!"

"Do I have to behave myself when I’m with my wife?" Zachariah replied lightly.

Ophelia, however, actually felt quite happy.

During the battle of man, Cora appeared to have won, but Ophelia was satisfied to see Zachariah defend her intentionally or unintentionally. At least, he didn’t leave her and the baby in her womb alone the first time.

Ophelia might be able to offer her baby a complete family, provided she didn’t give up.

Zachariah held her waist, nibbled her earlobe and asked in a seductive whisper, "What are you thinking about?"

Her cheeks burning, Ophelia’s ear twitched and she struggled a little, saying, "Mr. Chambers, behave yourself. People are watching."

Zachariah couldn’t care less what others thought and said in a domineering manner, "I love my wife. If people want to watch us, let them watch. Or, are you shy? My wife doesn’t feel shy easily."

Chuckling, Zachariah seemed to be in a good mood.

"Don’t you like it when I get cheeky from time to time?" He nibbled her earlobe again and asked in a seductive voice.

Ophelia’s ear twitched again and she warned him with shame and anger, "Mr. Chambers, stop it. People on the street are watching."

Zachariah pulled Ophelia closer to him, as if the woman on his arm was a rare treasure.

"Don’t be silly. They’re jealous because I married such a beautiful wife," Zachariah whispered into her ear.

Ophelia’s heart skipped a beat. She looked up and asked in earnest, "Then what do you think about it, Mr. Chambers?"
