Chapter 431 Sure enough, Cassandraâs thoughts were quickly led astray by Kenneth.
She tilted her head and looked at Kenneth, âI want to eat at home.â
Kenneth smiled and said, âThatâs what I think.â Then he went on, âWho are we going to call to eat together?â
Kenneth thought, âChristmas Eve dinner just wouldnât be the same if it were only me and Cassie. I might not mind, but Cassie has family and friends. Skipping the invites would kind of take the fun out of the festive feast.â
Cassandra pondered over the question of whom she would like to have dinner with.
She thought, âLooks like Iâve got quite the crew when it comes to family!â
Hugo, Arthur, Declan, Cyrus, the Hathaway family, Jeremiah...
âShould we invite John and his family? It seems like theyâre good to you...â said Kenneth. Cassandra tilted her head, counting the number of friends, something felt odd though.
âAnd... Kayden?â
Cassandra thought, âKenneth has only a few friends, so he needed a lot of people around.â
âLetâs invite Yannick, Ethan, and Lamont too. The more the merrier. Theyâve been with you through thick and thin, and even though theyâre like your crew, theyâve been by your side for years.â She had already given Ethan a piece of her mind about that issue; no need to keep harping on it.
No loss was the kindest thing they had done when they had been full of hatred.
If it had been her blinded by vengeance, anyone standing in the way of her revenge would likely have met a âmeet your makerâ
moment.
âJust sort it out,â Kenneth suddenly looked at Cassandra with a tender concern. âCassie, donât you hate Ethan?â
Kenneth had already known what Ethan had done. Although he didnât kick him out, Ethan 1/5 A Chapter 431 had been ordered not to appear in front of them again and beat him up severely.
âThereâs nothing to hate. I wasnât hurt, apart from forgetting you. But you found me again, didnât you? We grew, we got stronger, and luckily, this time around, we didnât miss each other.â
The tragedy from their past lives didnât get a sequel, which was a huge win. For her, that meant there was nothing left to hate.
Kenneth nodded, but he still couldnât be as generous as Cassandra.
That was how the dinner was arranged.
Two days later, it should be the liveliest day in Pinehart Mansion.
Everybody was there.
Johnâs family of four, Daniel, and the people invited by Cassandra were all here.
Kayden was also here, feeling pretty stunned. He totally expected Cassandra to be mad, but... now, he let out a sigh of relief.
The birthday party incident was now water under the bridge.
âLetâs all help out,â Kayden suggested, tired of lazing around at home with nothing to do.
âNah, enjoy yourselves. Cassie and I get the dinner covered,â Kenneth said, genuinely cheerful. Cooking with Cassandra was his happiest time.
âWeâve got board games, cards and snacksâjust chill and enjoy yourselves; leave everything to us today.â
Homemade was the best way for them to do Christmas Eve dinner. In simpler times, Blossom used to make her handcrafted stuffing with all sorts of fillings, and it was the best she had ever tasted.
Seeing this, Selena was extremely happy.
âKennethâs girlfriend is really capable. They are a perfect match!â
2/5 A Go Daer without it!â chuckled Selena.
âTotally!â Sylvia jumped in. âYou handle the sides, weâve got the stuffing. Itâs not Christmas Eve without it!â
After saying that, he took off his thin coat and began to work.
Susan sprang into action. âIâm on dough duty!â
Selena said, âThen Iâll take care of the stuffing mix.â
âMake extra stuffing; weâve got a full house and big appetites,â Sylvia said.
He thought, âThese two kids probably hardly ever make stuffing for themselves, so why not take this chance and make a little extra?â
âOkay, I want all kinds of stuffing today!â Selena felt that it was too lively, and she liked the atmosphere.
âThe two childrenâs home finally has a sense of life.â
Soon, there were three groups of people in Pinehart Mansion: board game players, stuffing makers, and Kenneth with Cassandra, tackling the cooking.
On Christmas Eve, all the dishes were prepped by Kenneth and Cassandra, who even handpicked the groceries, carefully pairing meats with sides.
By nightfall, a grand Christmas Eve dinner was finally ready to go.
Their exclusive dining room had a huge table, perfect for their group of just over 20.
Kenneth and Cassandra also prepared nearly 30 dishes!
Stepping into the dining room and seeing the feast, Omar blurted out, âCassandra, you traitor! Since when could you cook up such a feast? Back when you were studying at my place, you never cooked for me!â
At that time, he had to teach her medical skills and cook for her at the same time.
Cassandra said, â...Not yet.â
3/5 A Chapter 431 Omarâs mood quickly shifted as it dawned on him, âHold on, you learned to cook and never once whipped up something for me?!â
âI have no time. Iâm busy!â Cassandra said. âIf you keep talking about it, I wonât give you anything later!â
Omar was furious. What kind of apprentice did he have? How dare she threaten her mentor!
He was so angry that he couldnât say anything!
John and Daniel looked on, green with envy. They thought, âHow come heâs her mentor? If only we were that lucky. Sheâs just got that knack, that natural touch.â
âTake your seats.â Selena and Sylvia asked them to sit down.
The feast was making their mouth water, and it tasted even better than it looked.
Eddie couldnât help but say, âWhen you two are down and out, open a restaurant. I will go there every day.â
Someone knocked him on the head!
He looked at his wife accusingly and thought, âWhatâs wrong with that?â
âYouâre cursing my boss for being down and out, huh? Whatâs next, hoping I go bankrupt?â
Eddie was speechless.
His mouth reacted faster than his brain, and just like that, heâd put his foot in it again!
It was a little embarrassing.
âI didnât mean that; you misunderstood!â He tried to explain, but seemed to have forgotten how protective his wife was of Cassandra!
If they werenât both taken, youâd question their orientation.
âHumph, talking smack on Christmas? Youâre just asking for trouble!â Lydia huffed with a touch of sass.
âI was wrong. Donât be angry, honey.â Eddie begged for mercy.
Everyone laughed, and Daniel and Omar were very satisfied.
Omar said, âYoung people should be like this. A good man is to treat his wife well and apologize to her.â
Cassandra was speechless.
She thought, âYouâve been single for decades. How can you say that?â
