Chapter 8 The last class in the morning session was mathematics, taught by the homeroom teacher.
He had been listening to Patrickâs praise for Ca ssandra in his office.
When Cas sandra was transferred to their class, he was reluctant to accept her because it could potentially lower the grade point average and impact the enrollment rate.
Thus, he was trying to find an excuse to put her in another class.
But just now, Patrick said Cas sandra had suddenly changed.
âIâll have to test Cas sandra in class later, he thought.
However, when he entered the classroom, he saw that Cas sandra was sound asleep.
Today, the other teachers reported that Cas sandra slept during their classes, affecting their teaching efficiency.
âI never expected this to be true, thought the teacher.
âAhem! Itâs time for class. The math teacher, Connor Zeller, spoke loudly.
The students all stood up to greet the teacher, but Cas sandra was still asleep.
Cas sandra also found it very strange. In the past, she rarely felt drowsy, but ever since leaving the Yates residence, she always felt the urge to sleep.
âWhy is that girl sleeping?â Connor asked.
Cas sandraâs deskmate patted her to wake her up.
Cas sandra groggily opened her eyes and saw the whole class standing. She didnât know why, but she followed suit.
Only then did Connor look away and signal for the whole class to take their seats.
âSome of you may assume that your performance in certain teachersâ classes guarantees success on the SAT. But getting into university requires hard work, step by step.â
Connor was clearly hinting at Ca s sandra.
However, Cas sandra didnât care about what he said at all.
In class, Connor also asked Cas sandra a geometry question that was not included in their syllabus.
1/5 11:20 Fri, 16 Feb M H Chapter 8 He didnât believe Cas sandra would be able to work out the solution.
However, reality was a surprise for Connor.
Cas sandra solved the question in a very simple way.
In fact, her solution was even simpler than Connorâs.

âI daresay Cas sandra isnât the academic underachiever I thought she was. But why on earth is she concealing her talents?â
wondered Connor.
After the bell rang, Connor closed his book.
âBy the way, the last mock exam will be held at the end of this month. Good luck, everyone.â
The class was now over.
Hugo delivered lunch to Cas sandra on time.
Since Grade 12 students were busy with studies, they didnât go home for lunch. Instead, they had food delivered to them or ordered takeout.
Hugo had prepared the food at home before bringing it to Cas sandra.
Cas sandraâs temples throbbed as she looked at the five-layered lunchboxes.
âThis is too much... she thought.
âHugo, donât bring me so much food next time.â There was no way she could finish it all.
âBoss, you need to eat well. Grade 12 studies are tough. Since you insist on staying here, I can at least make sure you have a balanced diet.â
Hugo felt sorry that Cas sandra had left the Yates residence, but he also knew that the Yates family didnât deserve a daughter as good as her.
âItâs a good thing Cas sandra left the Yates family. They donât care about her, but there are other people who do,â mused Hugo.
âHugo, donât call me Boss. Just call me by my name.â
Being called âBossâ made her feel much older.
Moreover, in her previous/life, she had abandoned them for the sake of so-called family love. She was the one who should feel sorry for these people who had been with her for so many years.
Luckily, she could make it up to them in this life.
2/5 Fri, 16 Feb M Chapter 8 âWell, then Iâll call you Ms. Yates instead.â Hugo was pleased.
âSheâs getting better and better, he thought.

âBy the way, Ms. Yates, the Zelinski family has placed an order on the dark web to invite Faye Quirke, the miracle doctor, to come out of seclusion and save someone.â Hugo took the opportunity to ask if Ca s sandra wanted to return to her previous profession.
âThe Zelinski family?â Cas sandra asked.
There was only one Zelinski family in Drieso, and that was Kennethâs family.
Cas sandra wondered if Kenneth was the one who placed the order.
In her previous life, she witnessed him avenging her, so she couldnât help but feel grateful.
âYes,â Hugo said and thought, âItâs the Zelinski family that youâre thinking of âSend me the information. Iâll take a look first.â
Cas sandra didnât accept the order immediately. It would be embarrassing if she got it wrong.
âUnderstood,â Hugo replied.
Cas sandra carried the lunch box back to school.
She opened the lunch box layer by layer, revealing orange chicken, cod, braised beef, steamed broccoli, and bone broth..
These were all homemade dishes. They may not have been Cas sandraâs favorites, but she didnât dislike them either.
Moreover, it had been months since she last enjoyed Hugoâs cooking, and she missed it.
At a glance, she could tell that this was obviously prepared by Hugo because most people could not make steamed broccoli the way he did.
At her seat, Cas sandra savored the delicious food. By the time Yulissa and others returned, she had finished eating and put away the lunch box.
This afternoon, Yulissa didnât cause any trouble in front of Cas sandra.
Since Cas sandra mentioned that Samuel was Yulissaâs boyfriend, Yulissa dared not to speak anymore.
Yulissa was afraid that every word she said would lead to a bigger misunderstanding.
11:20 Fri, 16 Feb Mu Chapter 8 âHumph, Cas sandra, just you wait! Iâll complain to our parents and brothers tonight. Letâs see if theyâll spare you!â Yulissa exclaimed inwardly.
After school in the evening, Hugo was already waiting at the entrance.
Cas sandra greeted him.
âHugo, letâs go.â
âCas sandra, who is the man next to you?â Yulissaâs voice came from behind.
However, Cas sandra did not intend to pay her any attention.
Yulissa gritted her teeth and walked quickly to Cas sandra.

âCas sandra, even if you have issues with our family, you canât just associate with anyone... This man looks suspicious at first glance. How can you walk with him, Cas sandra? Donât tell me that youâve been staying at his house since you ran away from home a few days ago?â
Yulissa continued, âCas sandra, weâre family. Dad, Mom, our brothers, and I would never harm you.
If you think Iâm in your way, then Iâll go back, pack my things, and move out now. I just want you to come home, okay? Dad and Mom are waiting for you at home.â
Yulissa burst into tears, which moved the students and parents watching outside the school.
âCas sandra, are you bullying Lisa again? Apologize to her right away!â It was Raymond. who spoke this time.
He scolded Cas sandra even before he walked close to them.
Cas sandra was speechless.
âIf he canât see things clearly, then he should donate his eyes to people in need,â she thought.
âIâm talking to you. Donât you know how to apologize?â Raymond demanded in ant overbearing tone.
âIâm going to make sure Cas sandra apologizes to Yulissa today. Since her return to the Yates family, she has been relentlessly targeting Yulissa. I never expected this behavior to continue at school too!
âIf I hadnât come across them today, Yulissa would have suffered a lot!â thought Raymond angrily.
âExcuse me, Mr. Raymond Yates, what did I do to make you so angry?â Cas sandra rolled Fri, 16 Feb Chapter 8 her eyes in disgust.
âYou bullied Lisa. Do I need to remind you of what youâve done wrong?â Raymond subconsciously assumed that Cas sandra was bullying Yulissa again.
As an older brother, he couldnât stand to see his sister being bullied.
âMr. Raymond Yates, did I hit or insult Ms. Yulissa Yates? Did I destroy her homework or pull her hair? Did you see any of that happening?â Cas sandra looked cold and serious.
âYou... Youâve learned to talk back. Go home and reflect on your actions!â Raymond reached out to grab Cas sandraâs hand, but he didnât expect her to nimbly dodge hist attempt.
âDo you have selective amnesia? Iâve already made it clear that I have nothing to do with the Yates family. Why are you still approaching me?â
âCas sandra, is it because of this man that you cut ties with the Yates family? Cas sandra, you canât do this. He is our fatherâs age. How could you abandon our family for him?â Yulissa said with a pained expression.
Yulissa was really good at acting.
If Cas sandra wasnât personally involved, she may have believed Yulissaâs words.
Hugo was dumbfounded.
He couldnât tell if Yulissa was insulting Cas sandra or trying to flatter him.
