Mowri hadn't expected Arnab to kiss her. But she had felt what he had felt at her departure. He must have come back immediately for him to follow her and reach Chandigarh and be back by this time. Poor thing. But he had deserved it and though she had changed a bit she wasn't all that changed to forgive easily. But she couldn't fault herself if she felt all mushy inside. She loved the guy. And while he had kissed her she had felt the kiss all the way from her heart to her tingly toes. Though her sprained foot which had gotten a bit better under his tender care had started throbbing again she wouldn't let him get the last word or in this case kiss."What did you do?" she asked sternly."Kiss you," he replied with a grin."Why?" she asked with her hands in fists on her waist."Because I had promised myself that the minute I got my hands around your neck I would kiss you," he told her nonchalantly, "but majorly because I wanted to kiss you," he said seriously."You call that a kiss," she asked amused.Arnab didn't know what to say. Well it was a kiss only not the most romantic ones maybe."What would you call it?" he asked."I don't call it anything," she said and then smiled mischievously.Arnab narrowed his gaze at her and before he could figure out what her intentions were she went on tiptoe, put her hands behind his neck, and angling her face kissed him right on his lips. Arnab was so surprised that for a second he forgot to breathe as he registered her soft lips on his mouth. She poured all her love and passion for him in that one kiss and Arnab couldn't help but kiss her back with everything he felt for her. He held her close. It was as if stars burst over his head or maybe it was just his heart pumping loudly in his ears. For her. How had he ever thought that he could never fall in love with her? He had never known she was the only one he could ever fall and be in love with. And trust her to do something that was different. They held each other and after some time he felt her shift her weight on her feet. He gently pushed her head back to look into her face and saw her wince. He didn't need to ask what was bothering her. He picked her up and took her to the sitting area then lay her down on the sofa."Now that was a kiss," Mowri said proudly as she saw worry on his face.Arnab smiled. How could he not? She was his sunshine. Light, golden and warm."Does it hurt?" he asked her."Nope," she said with a smile."I meant your foot," he said and shook his head."Oh," Mowri said and blushed. He had to laugh. She was so full of surprises how the hell had he ever thought he could live without her."I am sorry Mowri ," Arnab said sincerely, "I hurt you last night. I was such a fool to believe you would be better off without me. If you can believe me I went through hell when I thought you had left me. It was as if my world had ended and like an idiot I had thought I could never love you," he said then gazed into her eyes as he saw the trust she had in him, "I love you Mowri . I don't know when or how it happened and it isn't important but I never want you to leave my side again. I want to wake up to every morning with you next to me. I want to sleep every single night holding you. There is nothing more I want than you to be with me for now and for always," he told her and at the tears he saw in her eyes he said, "will you be able to live with someone who was once broken."Mowri shook her head. These were the very words she had wanted him to say last night to her. How much she had wanted him to tell her he loved her? But instead he had tried to break her heart. He had tried to send her away. What if she had gone away? Would he have realized and come after her? Did she need to ask? He did come after her. What he had just told her, he had made her world rock. It may not be the most romantic love confession ever but the sincerity, the resolve, the emotion she had heard had staggered her. This was why she loved him. His simplicity and beauty were what she had fallen in love with. And still the bugger called himself broken. She ought to kick him for that."You are not broken Arnab ," Mowri said as she let her feelings show, "you never were. Don't let her make you think otherwise. I love you. I love the honest, beautiful, caring person that resides inside you. I love the friend you have become to me. There is nothing more important to me than you and I will not let anybody make you think otherwise," she said firmly, "and this time I have been kind enough to let you off the hook easily next time I won't show you such leniency," she warned."There won't be a next time," Arnab replied, "Because I don't intend to let you go anywhere again," he told her.Arnab gathered Mowri in his arms. Everything was going to be fine. He would make sure of it. She was right. Why should anybody's opinions matter to them? If they were together everything will be sorted out. He wouldn't let his past or his unwanted guilt overshadow their relationship anymore. There was a beautiful future ahead of them, so many things to explore and do and this was exactly what they were going to do. There were so many dreams they had yet to realize where was the time to pay heed to what people thought or believed. He was sure if Mowri was with him he could do anything. For this alone he was grateful to destiny and of course his mother and biji . Had they not been insistent he would never have met Mowri and vice versa. He was going to treasure the woman he had married and make sure she had the best adventure she had ever had. With him.And he proceeded to do just that. *********Arnab slowly opened the door. Quietly, so as not to disturb the occupants of the room. He leaned in the doorway with a smile on his face as he watched the two most precious people in his life sleep in peace. It had been two years of a beautiful partnership. Mowri had proven to be a great friend, a wonderful wife and the best life partner he could have ever asked for. She had come into her own. She laughed and smiled and giggled but she had retained some of her famous habits too. His life around her had never faced a moment of dullness and the love he felt for her had only grown stronger. He was constantly falling in love with her and he was thoroughly enjoying the adventure they were having. And she had given him the best gift ever. Mowri slept on her back but even in sleep her arm was wrapped protectively around their daughter. Jiaa , they had named her. It meant a piece of heart. Two days old. She was the most beautiful and fragile thing he had ever held in his life. And when she had wrapped her little fist around his finger he had cried. Of course after that grandparents and great grandparents had taken over but now as both Mowri and Jiaa slept he felt humble. He didn't know if he deserved so much happiness but he refused to complain.Preeti and Jay had decided to finally take that honeymoon which they had delayed because of Mowri 's last month of pregnancy. They had gotten married two months ago and Mowri hadn't let them hear the end of it. She hadn't been able to dance or have any kind of fun not to mention she had looked her worst with being so fat. So they had promised her that they would hold another huge party where she could do everything she had wanted to in their wedding. And now that Jiaa was here they could take that trip.Biji was happy that everyone was settled in their separate lives and her job was done. Her responsibilities had been taken over by Roop and Nimmi and all seemed to be well. Though she still couldn't keep herself from meddling into their affairs from time to time. But it was biji after all and she had survived two world wars how could she just let things be.Sarla and Rajesh were ecstatic at becoming grandparents and that they had such wonderful girls in their family as daughter in laws. Now that Arnab seemed to become more normal and with Jay settling down into marital life they couldn't help but congratulate each other on how well things had gone.Kulraj and Sameer were becoming more mature and realizing that it was best to be honest about how one felt or behaved than pretend. They lived separately from Sameer's parents but they felt it was better this way and the respect they had for the elders had only increased.Simrit was trying to change her ways. She was beginning to become a better mother, a better wife and a better daughter in law. Though her nature was proving to be a difficult obstacle and she still did not behave graciously towards Mowri but she refused to go back to what she had become. So she was trying to be at least civil to her older sister. Varun was still trying to gain Amardeep's confidence but not in a scheming sort of way. He was resolved to working hard and then gaining that trust.Destiny smiled at her handiwork. Things seemed to have worked out for the better for everyone.
