After telling Barnabus about successfully resolving the chip damage issue, Yvette said, âMr. Zabel, Iâll leave the rest to you. Iâm going to head home and rest.â
âOkay!â Barnabus hurriedly said, noticing her exhaustion. âThank you for today, Yvie. Go home and get some rest. You can leave the rest to me!â
Yvette nodded and said, âSee you, Mr. Zabelâ
After seeing Yvette off, Barnabus couldnât help but boast to lan.
âLook, lan. Isnât Yvette as outstanding as I described her to be? I knew she could resolve the chip issue!â
lan also watched Yvette walk away, feeling a sense of admiration toward her. He didnât expect her to actually resolve the issue, single- handedly no less.
âBy the way, when are you returning to Jubilife, lan?â Barnabus asked.â âLast time, you told me that you would be returning soon. Iâve been waiting for a while now!â
âMr. Zabel, I initially booked my return tickets to Jubilife, but an important experiment suddenly came up, so there was some delay,â
lan said.
âBut the experiment is ending soon. Iâll be back in Jubilife in no time.â
His parents have been urging him to come home and meet his little sister. lan planned to return to Jubilife immediately after the experiment was completed.
lan wondered if his little sister would be as adorable and obedient as Jacob, Ashton, and Sean described her to be.
At the thought of the little sister he never met, lanâs gaze softened. However, he frowned soon after.
Ian had a naturally cold demeanor, and he had never been good at talking to girls. He became worried that his sister may not like him.
âVery well. Come back soon, lan,â Barnabus said happily. âWhen youâre back, Iâll introduce you to Yvie, If the both of you work together, the experiments and research will see great improvements!â
âYes, sir.â
After lan got off the call, he left the laboratory and took off his mask. He fell deep in thought about the woman he encountered today.
lan thought she was too arrogant. If she kept that up, she wouldnât get very far.
Still deep in thought, lan slowly changed back to his regular clothes.
âI should challenge her a little when Iâm back in Jubilife,â lan murmured.
When Yvette left the research institute and saw the Maybach still parked in the same spot, she was surprised. But she soon felt emotional. She hadnât expected Wilson to wait such a long time for her outside the research institute.
âGet in.â
Wilson got out of the car, held Yvetteâs hand, and pulled her into the car.
Yvette questioned, âDidnât I tell you to leave?â
âI wanted to wait for my little Yvie,â Wilson said, smirking.
Then, Wilson presented some pastries and raised it to Yvetteâs lips. â You must be hungry. Have some food.â
Hungry, Yvette obediently took a bite out of the pastry in his hand.
Wilson gently gazed at Yvette as she finished the pastry. He also bought her favorite drink.
The threeâhour experiment was physically and mentally taxing. After finishing her food, Yvette started to doze off.
âYou must be tired, Yvie,â Wilson said. His deep voice had an underlying seductive tone.
âDo you want to rest in my arms for a while?â
