Hearing Zavierâs and Casperâs disrespectful statements, Eustace shot up from his seat and scoffed.
His face was grim as he spat, âTraditional medicine has a much longer history than modern medicine. If youâre talking about trash, modern medicine is the useless one! Itâs trash!â
Eustaceâs voice rang loud in the competition venue. The Jubilife University students cheered.
âDr. Marx is right!â
The people from Yael University were angry, but they couldnât refute Eustace because of his reputation. Yvette looked at Eustace and gave him a thumbs up. Eustace was visibly happy to receive a compliment from Yvette.
He continued, âProfessor Payne, your students just disrespected traditional medicine. You must have them apologize immediately!â
Before Jason could say anything, Zavier and Casper interrupted.
âWhy must we apologize? Thereâs no way she can save that person. Weâre not wrong!â
âExactly. Unless she can help that person regain consciousness, we wonât apologize!â
Yvette said calmly just then, âIf she regains consciousness, you will apologize, right?â
âThatâs right. If you can help her regain consciousness, weâll apologize and acknowledge traditional medicineâs worth!â Zavier and Casper said arrogantly. They were certain that Yvette wouldnât succeed.
Yvette narrowed her eyes dangerously. âFine. Today, Iâll show you why traditional medicine is the best.â
Yvette spoke calmly, but there was an inexplicable charisma in her.
âWhat a joke! Traditional medicine is the best? As if! Modern medicine is the best!â
âThatâs right. When she fails, traditional medicine will be put to shame!â
Liam was furious to hear the baseless criticism. But before he could say anything. Yvette stopped him and said, âJust wait and see.â
Yvette was emotionless, but Liam trusted her..
Yvette shifted her focus onto Madison, who was still unconscious. Madisonâs lips were pale, and there were dark patches under her eyesâproof that she had been poisoned.
The silver needles that Yvette performed acupuncture with had turned black, too.
When Zavier and Casper saw that, they couldnât help but mock her.
âOh wow, are you trying to save her with a measly few needles? This is hilarious-â
Before they could finish, Yvette removed the silver needles from Madison, Madison then grunted and slowly opened her eyes. She was pale, but she had definitely regained consciousness. Seeing her rouse awake, Zavier and Casper froze, their eyes widening in disbelief.
The two panicked, wondering how this was possible.
They had used the newest poison that was formulated in the Yael University laboratory, but Yvette had saved Madison with just a few needles!
Liamâs facial expression changed, too. He knew Yvette was skilled in modern medicine, so he worked. hard to study so that he could get closer to her. But Liam hadnât expected Yvette to be skilled in traditional medicine as well!
