âMr. Quinn, Ms. Olson is upset and shaken. Can you come over?â Lionel spoke into the phone.
While listening to Lionelâs earnest plea on the other end of the line, Wilson narrowed his eyes and responded impatiently, âIâm not a doctor. Get her to consult a doctor instead.â
Although Yvette wouldnât mind such things, he felt the need to maintain proper boundaries. After all, he was a man with a fiancée.
âMr. Quinnâ¦â Lionel wanted to say something more, but Wilson had already ended the call.
Lionel could only put away his phone in frustration. He then turned toward the room where Victoria was sitting despondently.
Seeing Victoriaâs pale face and the evident distress in her features, his eyes were filled with pity.
He blamed Wilsonâs heartlessness toward Victoria on Yvette. He was sure Yvette mustâve manipulated Wilson, causing his refusal to meet with Victoria in her time of need.
âMs. Olson, why havenât you rested yet?â Lionelâs cold tone naturally softened as he addressed her.
Victoria looked even more haggard than before, and her innocent doeâlike eyes were now dim.
âWhenever I close my eyes, I remember Gingerâs gruesome death⦠Itâs terrifying. Who couldâve done such a cruel thing?â
Her weak state made Lionelâs concern grow. He comforted her gently. âMs. Olson, donât think about it anymore. With your weak constitution, you need to rest and take care of your health first.â
âAlright, I understand,â Victoria agreed with a nod. Then, she asked, âLionel, where did you go earlier? I couldnât find youâ¦â
Lionel reported honestly, âMs. Olson, I called Mr. Quinn just now and told him about your condition-â
âWhy did you bother Wilson?â Victoria cut Lionel off with a frown.
Lione explained, âI was worried about your state and thought Mr. Quinnâs visit might cheer you up.â
With a deepened frown, Victoria clearly looked upset. As her face turned paler, she seemed even more pitiable.
âIâve troubled him enough over the years. Now that he has a fiancée, I donât want to bother him anymore or cause any misunderstandings between them.â
Seeing her distress, Lionelâs usually stern face showed a hint of panic. âMs. Olson, please calm down. Your health is in a fragile state. Iâve made a mistake, and you can punish me however you want. Just donât get too worked up about it.â
Victoriaâs mood worsened at that. âThere isnât a next time. If you ever act on your own again, Iâll have Wilson fire you.â
âI understand, Ms. Olson.â Lionel felt even more sorry for Victoria.
Victoria was too kind, which resulted in Wilson being snatched away by Yvette.
His expression darkened just as he remembered that Serena had already posted the video online. If he stirred things up a bit more, the video would surely go viral.
Yvette would be disgraced and come face to face with Marthaâs disappointment.
At the Quinn Manor, Yvette quietly sat on the couch as she watched Jasper being scolded.
Martha Had told him that Yvette was his future sisterâinâlaw, but he didnât believe her. âOuch!
Grandma, please stop!â
