Alice raised her chin and ridiculed, âAre you kidding me? Iâm here with a VIP of Royal Crown Kitchen! Theyâd never throw me out-â
She hadnât even completed her sentence when Rowan promptly nodded and agreed to Yvetteâs order. He hastily waved several security guards over.
âSure thing! Security! Hurry up and send her out!â
âYes, Mr. Chapman.â
Several security guards swiftly surrounded Alice and told her impatiently, âPlease come with us, miss.â
Alice was flabbergasted. She couldnât believe that Yvette could have her thrown out just by her words alone. âWhat right have you got to throw me out?â
The commotion attracted the attention of the diners in the restaurant. Alice felt even more ashamed with so many onlookers.
She hissed through gritted teeth, âMr. Chapman, itâs her you should be throwing out! Isnât it the rule of Royal Crown Kitchen that nonâVIPs are not allowed to enter? Well, why are you letting her in and throwing us out? This isnât right!
âI was under the impression that Royal Crown Kitchen goes according to its rules. Is this how you follow your own rules?â
Rowan looked at Alice, who was just short of going hysterical, like he was looking at an idiot. Iâm sorry, but what our boss says goes. Besides, she doesnât need to be a VIP to enter.â
What? Aliceâs eyes widened in utter disbelief. Yvette, that bitch, was actually the boss of Royal Crown Kitchen? How was that possible?
Aliceâs previous words now bit back at her, humiliating her to no end.
Observing the look of annoyance in Yvetteâs eyes Rowan ordered the security guards once more, âHurry up! Why are you all idling? Get on it and throw her out!
When Alice heard that, she quickly took Victoriaâs hand and begged, sounding like she was -close to tears, âVictoria, help me! I donât want to be thrown out! Itâd be so embarrassing!â
The Robertson family going bankrupt had already made her a laughingstock. If she were to be thrown out of Royal Crown Kitchen, sheâd be utterly mortified!
Victoria looked at Alice before turning to look at Yvette. She started with difficulty, âYvie, can you not have Alice thrown out for my sake?â
Yvette didnât even look at her and answered frostily, âNo.â
Jasper returned after parking the car and witnessed only the last part of the exchange. He didnât know what had happened before he arrived, but he was sure Yvette had done nothing wrong must have been someone else! wrong. The person in the âVictoria, what a coincidence seeing you here!â Jasper acknowledged her politely before asking what had transpired. âWhat is it? Did something happen?â
âYouâre here just in time, Jasper!â Victoria looked pale and pitiful. âCan you please talk to Yvie for me? Please stop making things difficult for Alice. What happened to her family is bad enough. Letâs not embarrass her further here.â
Jasper answered in a heartbeat, âYvette isnât an unreasonable person. Alice must have done something to anger Yvette. If thatâs the case, then she deserves to be thrown out!â
Yvette felt an inexplicable warmth spread within her when she heard Jasper taking her side without any hesitation. âIâm going in,â she said softly.
âWait for me, Yvette!â Jasper hurriedly went in after her, completely forgetting about Victoria.
Seeing how despondent Victoria appeared, Alice quickly said, âSee, Victoria? Yvette not only has Mr. Wilson wrapped around her finger. Now, even Jasper listens to her! Itâs only a matter of time before she takes your position in the Quinn family!â
