Though Jasper insisted on tagging along and said that heâd foot the bill, he didnât end up managing to do that.
âYvette, weâd agreed that Iâd buy you a meal. Why did you go and pay for it?â Jasper asked awkwardly. âHad it not been for you, Iâd be done for! I must properly thank you for that! The next time you want to go somewhere for some fun or have a meal, itâll be on me!â
As they spoke, they walked out of Royal Crown Kitchen. Jasper caught sight of a black Maybach from a distance away. He recognized immediately that that was Wilsonâs car.
He gleefully ran over and asked, âYouâre here to pick us up, Wilson?â
Then, opening the door of the front passenger seat, he got ready to hop in. However, a hand reached out to stop him. Jasper looked up in confusion. âWilson, why are you stopping me? Let me in!â
From inside the car, Wilson shot him a look before saying, âScram.â
What the heck? Jasper couldnât fathom why his own brother would refuse to give him a lift.
Wilson ignored Jasperâs pitiful expression and walked out of the car to Yvette. Then, he naturally held her hand and led her back to the car.
Jasper stood huffily by the side, looking like a poor abandoned child.
Yvette smiled and asked, âIt isnât too nice to treat him like this, is it?â
âYeah! Thatâs right! You canât do this to me, Wilson!â Jasper quickly echoed. âGive me a ride!â
Wilson frowned at the potential third wheel and transferred him five million dollars. âCan you get lost now?â
Looking at the transaction information that he received, Jasper grinned and immediately nswered, âHaha! Iâll make myself scarce right away, Wilson! There shall be no third wheel today!â
Yvette smiled helplessly at Jasperâs antics. âIs he really a Quinn?â
Playing with Yvetteâs fingers absentâmindedly, Wilson replied, âThough I hate to admit it, he really is a Quinn.â
Jeez, there really was no hiding Wilsonâs disdain for Jasper, was there?
Samuel, who was in the driverâs seat, started the ignition and drove off. He couldnât help but sigh to himself as he thought, âMr. Jasper would feel so hurt if he heard that!â
All of a sudden, he slammed on the brakes, bringing the car to a halt.
Wilson reflexively shielded Yvette before shooting Samuel a sharp look, which put him under immense pressure and fear. âWhatâs the matter?
Samuel hurriedly answered, âMr. Quinn, Mr. Murrayâs car is in frontâ¦â
He had only stepped on the brakes because heâd recognized that it was Jacobâs car.
âJacob?â Yvette frowned when she heard that. What was Jacob doing here?
âGet the hell out of there, Wilson!â Jacobâs furious voice could be heard from outside the car.
âHow have you managed to anger Jacob this time?â Yvette tilted her head and looked at Wilson with curiosity. Jacob was always calm and collected. She rarely ever saw him this incensed!
Wilson knew why Jacob was after him. Clenching his jaws, he tsked lightly.
