Wayne felt much more comfortable all of a sudden after Ryan was been dragged away by Gabe.
He looked at Anna and said, âLetâs go. You donât have to be so concerned about him; youâre not his mother. Gabe will take care of him.â
Anna looked back, retracted her head that had been looking towards the inside of the suite, touched her nose with embarrassment, and smiled. She said, âIâm used to it. Ryan is the same age as Scott and heâs a bit like him, so I canât help but want to care more about him. Maybe people will think Iâm a little weird if I do that.â
When she mentioned Scott, Wayneâs face became even more darker. He asked, âWhy do you always happen to bring homeless people home? Did you do that on purpose?â
Anna stared at him and asked, âWhat? No! I told you that I hit him by accident!â
Wayne glanced at her and asked, âWhat about Scott? You didnât hit him, did you? It seems that you had a lot of guts when you were a kid. You dared to run into an underground boxing ring when you were fifteen.â
Anna froze and asked, âHow do you know about this?â
Hearing that, Anna realized that Wayne had someone investigate Scott. He even found out that Scott was a boxer in an underground boxing ring before Gabrielâs family adopted him.
Wayneâs expression turned serious. He said, âA lot of people already know about it. Since he joined the show business, he should realize that his dirty little secrets in the past will hinder the development of his career. If he doesnât get a publicist to handle this, who knows if he will be affected by it in the future.â
After hearing his words, Anna inexplicably felt a little nervous. It occurred to her that she hadnât contacted Scott for a long time since she returned from the Maldives.
Anna was relieved after letting Ryan stay in the hotel room according to Wayneâs arrangement. She came home in the evening and packed up Tammyâs things, and took her to work with her. Anna was going to drop her off at Wayneâs house in the evening at the end of the day âMatthew!â
They had just arrived at the hotel when Tammy let go of Annaâs hand and darted towards the other end of the hall.
Anna looked up and saw the Wrightsâ butler holding Matthewâs hand. They seemed to have just arrived here as well.
âMiss Gabriel, Matthew has been asking to see you early in the morning. I know you must be coming to work today, so I brought Matthew here.â
The butler looked very resigned, and his eyes lit up when he saw the childrenâs suitcase Anna was holding. He asked, âThis is Tammyâs luggage, right? Iâll put it in the trunk and bring it home tonight.â
Wayne had told the housekeeper that Tammy would spend the summer at his house.
Anna didnât refuse and let the butler pull the suitcase to the garage while she took one of the children to the lounge. She had someone bring some fruit snacks for the two children and carefully instructed them, âI have to go to work, so I canât stay with you all the time. You guys play here by yourselves and donât run around. Tammy. you have to take care of Matthew, okay?â
Hearing these words, Tammy immediately jumped off the couch. She gave Anna a salute and said like an adult, âRest assured.
Iâll get the job done.â
Anna smiled and left the lounge.
If she had nothing to do, she would have played with the kids, but today there was a group of actors checking in to the hotel.
After Anna had seen Adaâs name on the list in advance, she felt that it should be a tricky task. To prevent anything bad from happening, she planned to do everything cautiously.
Anna had just returned to her office and sat down when the receptionist told her that the crew had arrived.
âMiss Gabriel, we donât need to be so nervous. There are rumors that Ada is Mr. Wrightâs fiancée. If she respects Mr. Wright, she wouldnât give our hotel a hard time.â
John followed behind Anna and said.
Anna felt a little disturbed, rolled her eyes at him, and asked, âWho said she was Mr. Wrightâs fiancée?â
âThatâs what everyone says. Havenât you heard of the rumors?â
Anna was about to refute him when several cars pulled up at the entrance. A large group of fans pounced toward the cars, and the security guards were busy pulling them back. Several actors walked into the hotel lobby, leaving the crazy fans outside the hotel.
âHello, we have arranged the rooms for you. This is our hotel room manager, and she will take you there.â
Anna said to the person in charge of the crew. She said it briefly and in a polite manner.
Before the person in charge could say anything, she heard an indifferent voice saying, âMiss Gabriel, itâs been so long since the last time we met. Have you been promoted? Congratulations.â
When she looked up, she saw that Ada had just taken off her sunglasses and lifted her chin slightly with pride Anna still stood straight and said, âThank you.â
âSince weâre old frends, Miss Gabriel, please lead me to my room yourself. Thereâs no need for the house manager to take me there After all, weâve known each other for a long time, and weâll have a chance to chat, night?â
Anna was too embarrassed to refuse her in front of so many people, so she nodded and agreed She asked the room manager to arrange for other crew members to check in while she led Ada and her agent to the suite on the twelfth floor âI have set the air conditioning temperature in the room at twenty-seven degrees and let the humidifier keep the air humid as you requested before. Also, I sprayed the room inside and out with your favorite perfume Ada interrupted her and said coldly, âWell, I know how good you are; you donât have to show off in front of me. After all, you stole my fiancé on a trip to the Maldives. Anna, you are something.â
Adaâs harsh voice echoed in the large suite, and Anna knew how angry she was.
Anna frowned and pondered before replying, âIâm sorry, Miss Xavier, I donât know what you mean by that. I have never wanted to break your engagement, and I have no intention of doing so.â
âWhat? Donât pretend to be innocent, okay? Iâm not a fool. Donât you dare say you didnât want to get close to Wayne?â
Ada looked very angry, and she had been mad for a long time because of this matter. She was still picking a perfect wedding dress when she got the call from Wayneâs assistant. When she heard the news that the wedding was canceled, she almost fainted as she couldnât catch her breath.
âIâve seen a lot of women like you. You pretend to be an independent woman and pretend to be working to get close to Wayne. In terms of acting, we as actors are no match for you bitches in the workplace.â
Annaâs brow furrowed. She lifted her head and looked at Ada indifferently. âMiss, please stop saying that. Please respect me.â
She said.
She was a person who was responsible for her work and was respectful to her customers, but that didnât mean she could be scolded at will.
