After walking out of the bathroom, the first thing Wayne did was look for Anna. However, he didnât see her. He asked the receptionist where she went, but they had just changed shifts and didnât know what had just happened.
âShe probably went back home. You know, itâs late.â Charlotte said and took Wayneâs hand.
Then she leaned against Wayne, blinking her reddened eyes and saying in a muffled voice, âWayne, Iâm a little tired. Would you take me home?â
They stood at the front desk, making the receptionists look stunned.
The receptionists stared dumbfounded at them and wondered what was going on. They all knew that Wayne was in a relationship with Anna. So, they didnât know why Charlotte was so close to Wayne.
Wayne absentmindedly glanced at the hotel door and then had an ominous feeling.
He knew that Anna wouldnât leave the banquet without telling him, even if she had something urgent to take care of. After all, Anna had never done such a thing before.
Charlotte seemed so drunk that she closed her eyes and didnât move when she leaned on his shoulder. He frowned and told the driver to take her home first.
They arrived at a threeâstory villa on the west side of town. In the living room on the first floor, Charlotte took one of Wayneâs hands affectionately. She tilted her head, saying inarticulately, âWayne, you can think about what I said. Oh, you donât have to answer me in a hurry because I can wait for you.â
Wayne was about to walk away. When he heard her words, he paused. He looked down at Charlotte, who was lying on the couch and then shook her hand away He said, âNo, Charlotte. Youâre drunk.â âNo! Iâm not drunk.â
Charlotte still didnât want to stop. She threw her arms around Wayneâs waist and seemed to be crying. She said, âWayne, Iâm scared. Donât go. Stay with me, okay?â
Wayne didnât shake her off again, but his gaze was indifferent. He said, âI called your brother, and heâll come over later.â
Charlotte froze, and then slowly withdrew her arms around his waist. She sat on the couch with her head hanging.
Her curly bangs blocked her face. Even so, Wayne could tell she was very disappointed. Then, he frowned.
After a long time, she suddenly raised her head and complained, âWayne, how could you do this to me! I was just joking with you. If you donât want to stay here, you can leave. Why did you tell my brother? Is it true that he will come later? If he knows that Iâm drunk, heâll blame me.â
Hearing that, Wayne stopped frowning. He went back to Annaâs apartment immediately after he left Charlotteâs house. But he found +25 Points 161 Wayneâs Ex-Girlfriend that she wasnât home and didnât seem to have come back.
He then called Anna, but she didnât answer. He called Henry, and Henry said she hadnât been there.
âMr. Wright, where are we going now?â Gabe asked. He had just pulled the car out of the block where Annaâs house was.
âTo Peaceâs,â Wayne said.
Gabe looked up in the rear view mirror and noticed that Wayne frowning and looking upset Wayne hadnât expected Charlotte to return to England at all. This incident had disrupted his plans entirely.
Half an hour later, he arrived at Peaceâs house.
âYouâre looking for Anna the middle of the night? Are you kidding me?! You guys had a fight, didnât you?â Peace yawned and then sat down on the couch.
âWhat? Sheâs really not here?â Wayne stood in the living room and looked around Peaceâs messy apartment. Finally, he looked skeptically at the bedroom.
âOf course sheâs not here! Itâs early in the morning, Wayne. Will you let me have a good sleep? You donât need to work, but I do. I have to get up early in the morning. Oh, hey, what are you doing?â Peace immediately jumped up from the couch. She didnât walk over to Wayne until she saw Wayne strutting over to the bedroom door.
Wayne opened the door as he saw a dim light in the bedroom. Just as he walked into the bedroom, the man in the bed immediately jumped up in shock.
That man pulled the covers up and wrapped them around his body. Then, he exclaimed, âHoly S**t! Wayne, why didnât you knock? You know this is a bedroom, right?â
Wayne looked stunned at Karlâs frightened look and said, âOh, Karl, hi. Did Anna come by?â
Karl covered his chest and asked, dumbfounded, âHey! What do you think? Of course not!â Wayne nodded, closed the door and left. Peace shouted âgoodbyeâ to him, her voice echoing in the quiet night. Peace stared at Karl and commented, âYou can go now.â âHey! How can you kick me out like that? I just helped you out!â âCut the crap. Canât you see Iâm busy?â Peace then called out towards the balcony, âAnna, heâs gone, come on in.â Karl muttered as he lifted the covers, picked up his shirt from the floor, and put it on. Anna opened the balcony door and walked in with her head down. She said, âThanks.â
Originally, Anna planned to go straight home. But at the thought that Wayne had been staying at her house these days, she went to Peaceâs house instead.
When she arrived at Peaceâs door, she surprisingly saw Karl sitting at the door. He told her that they hadnât made up yet and that Peace had shut him out.
Peace frowned, and then asked Anna to sit on the bed. She said, âHey, itâs okay. Whatâs going on? You seem scared, dear.â
âShe definitely had a fight with Wayne!â Karl said immediately.
Peace rolled her eyes at him and said, âWill you ever shut up? If you say one more word, Iâll kick you out of here.â
Karl immediately stopped talking. Peace took Annaâs hand and said, âDonât listen to his bulls**t. Anna, whatâs going on? Tell me.â
Anna lowered her head and said in a low voice, âI saw Wayne hugging Charlotte.â
Hearing that, Peace froze, and then immediately sprang up from the bed. She asked in surprise, âWhat the hell?! Is she the president of SG England, the mean woman you mentioned before??â
Anna nodded. In fact, her mind was in a mess that she didnât even know what she was talking about. All she could think of was the scene in which Wayne and Charlotte hugging each other.
Peace clenched his fist and shouted, âDamn it! I knew that all men are goodâforânothing in this world! You just got rid of Ada.
And here comes another woman?! I think theyâre lying when they say that Wayne doesnât like having women around. There are so many women flirting with him! Donât these women know that heâs got a girlfriend? They are too shameless.â
âSheâs his exâgirlfriend, I suppose.â Anna interrupted Peace sorrowfully.
Anna was confused when hearing the conversation between Charlotte and Wayne. She hadnât even thought that Wayne actually had a girlfriend that he was going to get married with before, which was why she was caught off guard and had to run away.
She had always thought that Wayne was a decisive man and that he treated every woman the same way. Even when Ada was with him, pretending to be his fiancée, he hadnât treated her very well. Meanwhile, apparently, Wayne was being gentle and patient with Charlotte.
Also, Anna realized that the necklace she had taken off of Wayne was the token of love between him and Charlotte.
Peace froze for a few seconds before coming back to her senses. Feeling surprised, she asked, âHe has an exâgirlfriend?â
âKarl! I remember you telling me that Wayne doesnât have an ex!â Karl asked worriedly, âYou guys said that I couldnât talk. So, can I keep quiet now?â
Peace clenched her fists and threatened, âAre you saying you know what happened between Charlotte and Wayne?â
âOf course! The three of us grew up together...â
