Elliot raised his head and gazed at the chair, which was only a meter away. He had no idea what it was made of and could only see it shining silver in the dim light. The chairâs back was covered in colorful wiring, and two tubes connected to a large bucket on the right.
His eyes widened with surprise, and he asked, âAh! What are you doing?!â
âWeâre going to torture you, of course.â
Saying that, Gabe frowned, grabbed Elliotâs collar, and dragged him to. that chair.
ââ¢Let go of me!â Elliot began to scream and struggled furiously. The sack and rope, however, had wrapped around him like a cocoon, making it nearly impossible for him to move. And Gabe started dragging him and took a few steps.
In terror, Elliot yelled, his voice echoing in the basement, âIâll tell you! Iâll tell you right now! Itâs Richard! Richard asked me to drive a truck and stage a car accident to kill Anna. He promised me that he would help me pay my debt if | make it.â
Hearing that, Gabe frowned and looked back at Wayne. Of course, they knew what Richardâs purpose was: he wanted to take over Gabriel Group but Anna refused to let him do so, which was why he wanted to kill Anna.
Under the dim light, Wayne looked more irritated.
âYou f*****g piece of s**t! How dared you try to kill my girlfriend!â he said as he took two steps forward and stomped on Elliotâs face. 320 Enemies ââ¢Let me go, please! | didnât want to do thi:
in the first place.â
Fearing that Wayne would beat Elliot to death, Gabe immediately mediated, âWe already know whatâs going on, Mr. Wright. So, maybe we should let him go now.â
Wayne paused and said, âYou donât need to do it, Gabe. Leave him to those two out there, and they know what to do.â
Gabe sighed, feeling relieved that he wouldnât have to deal with Elliot himself. He didnât care what happened to Elliot because that guy deserved it anyway.
They let the two thugs in after they came out of the basement. After a While, Elliot cried out loud in pain but his cries eventually faded away.
Gabe shuddered as he imagined what the two thugs had done to Elliot. In the rearview mirror, he noticed Wayneâs cold expression. He asked Wayne, âWhat should we do now?â.
âWeâll settle the score with Richard later,â Wayne said slowly.
Wayne turned a blind eye to the horrible things that Richard did for the sake of Peter. Also, Wayne was busy these days, so he didnât have time to manage the group. So, he thought it would be good to let Richard do his job for a while.
However, by messing with Anna, Richard made a huge mistake. And Wayne would not let him o this time.
The New Year was approaching, and practical exercise training was about to begin at the Military Academy in Birmingham.
After getting his number plate, Ryan carefully pinned it to his uniform.
âHey there, loser,â Emily said as she stood behind him. 320 Enemies Before turning around, Ryan felt a powerful arm slap him on the shoulder. Emily smacked him so hard that he nearly coughed up blood.
Meanwhile, Emily didnât notice his reaction and said to him, âJust stay behind me after we leave the military zone later. Ill protect you.â
Ryan pushed her away with all his strength and said, âIâm not doing that! What did you just call me, by the way? We have to call each other by code names because itâs a rule. Remember, my code name is Phoenix.â
Emily scowled at him, slung her drill gun over her shoulder, and said, âShut up, loser. My cross-country scores were much higher than your highest scores even when | was on my period. In fact, the intelligence team is not required to take part in such exercises. This is not a big city, so we can just do a blanket search instead.â
Ryan was speechless for a moment before saying, âYou can indeed blanket search the city. But what if weâre really at war right now? Do you have to waste so much time unnecessarily searching all over the world if Weâre not around?â
Emily raised her brows and said, âGood idea! All jokes aside, Ryan, you can just follow me.â
Ryan shook off her hand and said as he walked forward, âNo, Iâm not interested in it. Besides, | have something important to do this time. You donât require someone to provide you with intelligence, do you? So, III just do my business.â
âNo, you canât leave here on your own,â Emily said when she caught up with him, ââ¢Yes, can. You said we would conduct a blanket search, didnât you? Iâll go to the cityâs east side while the others look elsewhere,â
Ryan answered.
âThereâs nothing to look for on the cityâs east side! You wonât find 320 Enemies afl anything because there are a lot of people there. Go to the west side!â
âNo! Iâm heading to the east side.â
When Emily noticed Ryanâs persistence, she asked suspiciously, âWhat makes you want to go there so badly? Are you looking for something specific?â
âYeah, thereâs a drug den there,â Ryan nodded, âso Iâm going to check it out.â
âYouâre kidding me, right? Why didnât you tell the cops if itâs true?â
âI suspect those drug dealers are connected to the narcotics squad. So Iâm going to go find them by myself.â
Emily initially assumed Ryan was teasing her. But when she heard Ryan begin to tell the details, she became irritated and exclaimed, âYouâre just messing around!â
âNo, Iâm not!â
âYou cannot go there on your own! Iâm going to tell our school about this!â
Ryan tugged Emilyâs arm and said, âNo, donât! Emily, | can handle it myself. Please. â
Emily gave him a stern look and said, âAre you insane?! Our operation is merely a drill, and the crime dens are all set up by our school. Remember, we donât have any real bullets in our guns! What can we do if something unexpected happens? There are more than just the two of us in our group. What if they truly believe itâs a fake one?â
Ryan said thoughtfully, âThatâs why | asked you to put me in charge of that area! They wonât enter my area as long as we each set our own. Trust me, Iâm confident Iâll catch their boss. Iâm not doing this to take credit, Emily; Iâm doing it to completely eliminate them.â 320 Enemies Emily went entirely still. She felt that whenever Ryan spoke seriously, his ideas always impressed her. Ryan first caught her eye when he gave his speech at the start of the school year as the delegate of his department.
Emily frowned and said, âOkay, | can promise you that. But you also have to promise me one thing.â
âWhat? Really?â
Ryanâs eyes glowed. Emily was the groupâs commander. So, if she agreed to this request, his plan would be half-completed. He hadnât expected Emily to be so easily persuaded.
âIâm going there with you.â
Hearing that, Ryan froze, not knowing what to say.
Emily continued, âAnd once we arrive there, youâll have to ask my permission for everything you do. You must obey my orders because | am your commander.â
Ryan smirked. He was hesitant but had no choice but to comply with this request.
After the drill began, the students dispersed in groups. Emily asked two more students to accompany her and Ryan to the east of the city after dividing the areas for the group.
