â368 Give My Daughter back to Me ha Meanwhile, employees of the Carousel Group presidentâs office held an emergency response meeting to discuss stock market fluctuations.
âIs this what youâve come up with all night?â Wayne slammed a stack of folders on his desk.
None of them dared to respond to him.
âMr. Wright, your phone is ringing,â Gabe said at that moment.
Wayne glanced at him and said, âIâm busy right now. Iâll call the person back when the meeting is over.â
Gabe wanted to say something else. However, Wayne had already opened the folder and pointed out the programâs flaws at that time. He appeared to be unwilling to discuss anything else.
Wayne was eager to resolve this matter because the Carousel Group had recently been in crisis. The meeting lasted for more than an hour. After awhile, all of them heard the sound of people talking loudly from outside.
âMiss Gabriel, Mr. Wright is in a meeting. You canât go in!â
âLet go of me!â
Wayne froze when he heard that familiar voice. He then got to his feet and walked out. Heâd just gotten to the door when Anna slammed it open and dashed in. She stormed in and slapped Wayne across the face The sound was so loud that it echoed throughout the quiet conference room. Everyone was stunned, unable to believe what they were witnessing. Wayneâs right side of his face swelled up quickly. He looked at Anna in a daze, unable to respond to what had happened. Annaâs eyes were welling up with tears. She had one hand on Wayneâs collar and she looked almost broken. She yelled, âWhat happened to my daughter? Why did you kidnap my daughter again? Wayne, I donât think Iâve â367 Give My Daughter back to Me done anything horrible to hurt you. I just want my child to grow up safely! Why are you doing this to me?!
You know she has asthma, donât you? She could die if she has an attack!â
Wayne frowned and asked, âWhat the hell are you talking about?â
Anna reached out to hit him again, but he grabbed her hand and asked, âAnna, are you crazy?â
Her eyes were bloodshot from crying. She screamed, âYes, Iâm insane! Tell me where Tammy is. Give my daughter back to me!â
âYou have taken her away!â
âBut you steal her from me again!â Anna exclaimed incoherently. She appeared agitated, but Wayne had no idea what was wrong. He was no longer bothered about being slapped but instead inquired anxiously, âWhat? Tammy has disappeared?â
Anna almost passed out from crying, She froze when she noticed his. attitude and asked, âYou donât know about this?â
âHe hasnât left the meetings since last night.â Gabe said to Anna in a low voice.
Anna slowly let go of Wayneâs collar at that point. She became even more flustered and muttered, âIt canât be! No one else will take her away from me except you!â
Annoyed and angry, Wayne complained, âItâs all your fault! Why canât you keep an eye on your daughter? You used to fight with me for her, and now you blame me when sheâs disappeared. What exactly are you doing?â
Anna clenched her teeth and tried hard not to cry. She said, âTammy has gone missing! Why arenât you worried about her? This is not the time to blame me!â 367 Give My Daughter back to Me Wayne was irritated. He turned to Gabe and said, âWhat exactly are you doing? Gett rid of her! Now! | donât want to see her in my conference room.â
Wayne then left without looking back.
âMiss Gabriel,â Gabe said tentatively.
Anna wiped away her tears and stated, âDonât bother. Iâll leave on my own. I came here to look for my daughter. Thereâs no point in wasting my time here now that sheâs not here.â
After Anna walked out of the building, Jasper called her, âAnna, | checked the surveillance and | found that Tammyâs missing has nothing to do with Wayne,â
Anna was filled with remorse, but she still tried her best to make herself sound calm. Then she inquired, âSo, where is she?â
âShe went out by herself. The doorman let her out because he thought she was a friend of the bus by herself. Donât worry, weâll follow the bus route and look for her.â
Jasper continued to reassure Anna. She had just been worried that Wayne had taken Tammy away again because things would only get worse if that happened.
Wayne was getting ready to leave his office, putting on his jacket. He had just stepped out of the office when he ran into Gabe, who had just walked in.
âWhere are you going, Mr. Wright? The meeting is not yet over.â
Wayne glanced at him and said anxiously, âIâm going to find Tammy. Gather a few more people to help me with it.â
Gabe stopped him and asked, âWhat plan do you have? This city is â367 Give My Daughter back to Me large, and finding herâs as difficult as looking for a needle ina haystack.â
âSo, what do you have in mind?â Wayne asked, frowning.
âWhat if | call Mr. Xavier? We can have him call the police and watch the surveillance cameras near Miss Gabrielâs house. Then weâll know which direction she went, and weâll be able to find her as long as she doesnât leave the city.â
Then Gabe sighed and thought, Wayne, youâre usually sensible and decisive. But why do you act stupid every time when itâs things related to Anna?
Twenty minutes later, Karl called Wayne.
Wayne asked anxiously, âHave you found out anything?â
âCall Henry. Tammyâs inside the trunk of his car.â
âWhat?â Wayneâs eyes widened in surprise, and then immediately called Henry.
By then, Henryâs car was just pulling onto the overpass. Henry answered when he saw it was Wayne calling,â Whatâs the matter, Wayne?â
Wayne asked anxiously, âHenry, where are you now?â
âOn the overpass. Whatâs going on?â
âTell the driver to slow down and stop the car. Then open the trunk.â
âHuh?â
âHurry up!â
Wayne sounded very anxious. Henry had no idea why, but he did as he was told. After the driver stopped the car, Henry got out.
He opened the trunk suspiciously and then immediately became surprised. â367 Give My Daughter back to Me Then Henry asked, âWayne, why is Tammy in the trunk?â âHow is she doing?â âSheâs gasping for airâ
âSheâs having an asthma attack. Take her to the hospital now!â
