107 The Truth

Shen Nian walked out of the ward and walked towards the nurses’ station. The boy stood near the counter and called out in a childish voice, “Sister Nurse.”

The nurse who was arranging the medical records. She immediately stood up and curiously looked over the counter. Only then did she realize that it was a very cute and handsome boy.

The nurse’s voice immediately softened. “What can I do for you, little boy?”

Shen Nian said crisply, “Nurse, my mother’s wound hurts. Can you come and take a look?”

The nurse smiled and quickly came out from behind the counter. She tried to take his hand. “Of course. Which ward is your mother in? Lead me there.”

“Okay.” Shen Nian pretended not to see her outstretched hand and led the way.

The nurse followed behind Shen Nian enviously. She suddenly wanted to have a cute and sensible son like that.

When they reached the door of the ward, the nurse collected her wits and looked at the ward number. She suddenly realized that this was the patient with the considerate and handsome boyfriend.

She remembered that her name was Shen Yin?

The nurse looked down at Shen Nian in a daze. So they were already married? With a six year old child!

Shen Nian did not know what she was thinking. He pushed the door open without realizing that a large hnad secretly held the door open behind him.

“Mom, I’ve brought the nurse.” Shen Nian obediently walked to Shen Yin’s side and took her hand. He coaxed Shen Nian softly, just like how Shen Yin spoke to him when he was sick. “Mom, don’t be afraid. It won’t hurt. When the nurse has finished checking your wounds, I’ll wash some fruits for you to eat!”

The nurse could not help but duck her head and laugh. Shen Yin blushed and pretended to be angry as she scolded softly, “Stop coaxing me like I’m a child. I’m an adult now.”

“Yes, yes, yes. Mommy is the best.” Shen Nian smiled sweetly. Then, he looked at the nurse and smiled. “Nurse, Mommy’s ankle is injured. Do you think it’s serious?”

The nurse examined Shen Yin’s ankle and found that the area was a little red, so she went to get some medicine.

Shen Yin nodded in thanks.

The nurse looked at the mother and son enviously. No wonder the boy was so good-looking. Shen Yin had a beautiful face that attracted attention even if she was not wearing make-up, and the child’s father was also handsome and suave.

Of course their child was handsome!

She nodded and turned to walk out of the ward. When she saw the man who was still standing in a daze outside the ward, she suddenly teased, “Sir, are you here to see your wife again? The two of you are so loving. I’m so envious.”

The man’s lips curled up stiffly into an ugly smile. Then, under the nurse’s surprised gaze, he opened the door and walked into the ward.

Shen Yin was leaning against the head of the bed and talking with Shen Nian when she suddenly heard footsteps. She thought that Grandpa Lian had returned. Shen Yin looked up with a smile and said, “You’re back!”n/o/vel/b//in dot c//om

Lu Chen looked up expressionlessly and saw Shen Yin’s bright smile vanish the moment she saw him. His heart sank a little.

He looked at Shen Nian and said with difficulty, “This is… your son?”

The moment Shen Nian saw him, he stood in front of Shen Yin. His little cheeks puffed up like a bun as he glared angrily at the man. “Go away! My mother doesn’t want to see you!”

Shen Yin looked at the back of Nian Nian’s head in surprise. Did this child know who this man was?

“I…” Lu Chen opened his mouth, his eyes filled with pain. “This is the child by the man you were with six years ago, right?”

Shen Yin frowned and lowered her eyes, not wanting to look at him at all. “It’s none of your business.”

Lu Chen took a deep breath and looked at the woman had been smiling so brightly just now, but who had become so cold and distant in an instant. His face turned pale. “Yin Yin, how I wish this was my son.”

Shen Yin looked straight at him without flinching. Every word was like a knife stabbing his heart. “Lu Chen, you should wake up. Back then, you were the one who wanted to a clean break. Nian Nian cannot possibly be your son.”

Shen Nian did not know how this person had found his mother, but seeing that his mother was not surprised at all, he knew that this was not the first time this man had pestered her after their return to China. He immediately formed a plan.

His father, that domineering man, must have seen something. Otherwise, he would not be so angry with his mother. When he came home that night, he had looked very tense.

This man must be the culprit who was preventing his parents from living happily ever after!
