Gu Cheng had been publicly humiliated by these women. His polite veneer vanished and his ill nature showed through his layers of hypocrisy, revealing his true colors.

He pointed at Shen Yin and ordered coldly, “Move aside, or I’ll beat you to death!”

When Wang Sheng and Han Xu heard this, they hurriedly rushed forward to defend Shen Yin. The admiration in their eyes when they looked at Gu Cheng was completely gone. “You had better be more polite. She’s our boss!”

Shen Yin gently pushed the two of them away and looked straight at the man fearlessly. “Send her to the hospital yourself, or we’ll accompany you personally.”

“So what if you have more people!” Gu Cheng rolled up his sleeves and was about to attack when someone kicked him from behind. Shen Yin and the others reacted quickly and dodged, letting Gu Cheng fall to the ground.

“There’s no need to waste time talking to such a scumbag. Just teach him a lesson.” The man looked up with a smile, his eyes fixed on the woman he had been thinking about day and night.

Shen Yin felt that this voice was a little familiar. She stomped on Gu Cheng’s leg twice before looking up and meeting Cheng Huo’s charming eyes.

His eyes always seemed so youthful. When he looked at people, he always seemed to exude affection.

Cheng Huo narrowed his eyes and looked at Shen Yin with a faint smile. “Why? Miss Shen, you said that you wanted to repay me last time. Have you forgotten me now?”

“How could I forget President Cheng?” Shen Yin nodded at him casually. “Thank you for helping me just now.”

“Don’t stand on ceremony! Standing up against injustice is a virtue.” He smiled at Zheng Lin and handed her his car key. “Help her into my car. I’ll come after chatting with your boss.”

Zheng Ling looked at Shen Yin worriedly. After getting an affirmative answer from her boss, she and Han Xu helped the woman, who was in so much pain, into the car.

Seeing that they had left, Cheng Huo strolled over casually and stood in front of Shen Yin. “You owe me again, Miss Shen.”

Shen Yin took a step back and played along. “President Cheng, are you sure you want to settle scores with me in public?”

Cheng Huo narrowed his eyes and swept his narrow eyes around coldly. The onlookers immediately lowered their heads. They did not dare to watch the commotion openly and only secretly sneaked peeks from the corners of their eyes.

He turned around and continued to stare at Shen Yin. His aggressive gaze was like a lazy cat staring playfully at its prey. “Miss Shen, you said you would treat me to a meal last time. There’s no time like the present. How about we make an appointment for tonight?”

Shen Yin replied coldly, “I’m sorry, my injuries haven’t healed yet. It’s not appropriate for me to go out now. Let’s do it another day.”

Cheng Huo’s emotionless eyes landed on her neck and he said regretfully, “Then I can only wait.”

Shen Yin frowned. “What for what?”

Cheng Huo blinked mischievously. “Wait for my new love to recover.”

Shen Yin sneered. Then, she bent down and grabbed Gu Cheng’s collar with one hand, pulling up the man who was lying there, refusing to get up. Her strength was so great that everyone around her gasped.

However, Shen Yin smiled matter-of-factly. “I’ve embarrassed myself in front of President Cheng. I’m used to carrying corpses, so my movements are a little rough. Please excuse me, President Cheng.”

Cheng Huo raised his eyebrows in realization, but there was no surprise on his face. “So you’re a forensic pathologist!”

Shen Yin did not want to argue with him in front of everyone. She grabbed Gu Cheng’s collar and stood in front of him expressionlessly. “President Cheng, please make way. Thank you.”

Cheng Huo stood still, but a pair of slender and fair arms wrapped around his shoulders from behind. The woman was wearing a red dress and she looked at Shen Yin with a charming smile. “Is this your new lover? She’s really not bad-looking.”

Shen Yin frowned and was about to explain when Cheng Huo deliberately pulled her away, not giving her any chance to deny it. He led them to his car.

Shen Yin forcefully stuffed Gu Cheng into the car and asked Wang Sheng and Han Xu to go back and tell the team leader that she and Zheng Ling would return later in the afternoon.

Cheng Huo walked to the front passenger seat and opened the car door to invite Shen Yin in, but Shen Yin stood there without moving. The woman in the red dress pushed her into the car, and she left rather happily after bidding farewell to Cheng Huo.

The car soon arrived at the hospital. Shen Yin personally watched as Gu Cheng registered the woman and brought her into the examination room before turning to leave with Zheng Ling.

Cheng Huo followed closely behind and said sadly, “You threw me away after using me. How heartless.”
