Wu Zheng frowned and gestured to Meng Heng. “Sure. Why are you looking for Lian Jing?”

Shen Yin looked at the kidnappers, and the scar-faced man shook his head at her. Shen Yin understood and continued, “I can’t tell you, but please help me to contact him. Thank you.”

The scar-faced man hung up the phone and looked pleased. This woman was quite obedient. It seemed that they would be able to get the money and leave soon!

Wu Zheng quickly calmed himself and asked Meng Heng to contact Lian Jing while he called the Narcotics Unit.

“What does this have to do with narcotics?” Li Zi asked in confusion, “Is it related to the previous case?”

That case had already been handed over to the prosecutor’s office. Although Li Zi had not personally handled it, she had heard the whole story from her colleagues. If Shen Yin was really in their hands, the consequences would be dire!

“Calm down. I don’t think so.” Wu Zheng analyzed calmly. “First of all, Dr. Shen never addresses me as Wu Zheng, whether at the police station or in private. She always addresses me as Captain Wu. I guess she addressed me by my name because she didn’t want to expose my identity as a police officer. This means that the group of people who kidnapped Shen Yin doesn’t know her true identity.”

Li Zi understood and nodded thoughtfully. “That’s right. Perhaps Shen Yin was trying to tell us that she suspects she’s in an undiscovered den of the drug dealers that were caught last time. However, the group of people who kidnapped her are not those criminals!”

“That’s right!” Meng Heng nodded. “At least we know that she’s not in danger for the time being.”

As they were talking, Meng Heng’s phone suddenly rang. It was Lian Jing.

He told Lian Jing everything that they had deduced and agreed to meet at the old building.

Wu Zheng and the others decided to hide in the old building for the time being and wait for their colleagues and Lian Jing to arrive before taking action. If there were still criminals from the previous case which had not been caught, they might not be able to handle them. Then their cover would be blown and that would spoil matters.

Lian Meng looked at her brother’s gloomy face and asked anxiously, “What happened to Sister-in-law?”

“She’s been kidnapped.” Lian Jing sent the location to Zhong Xin. They left the airport and rushed to the old building.

“How could this happen?! It’s all my fault!” Lian Meng thought that she had agitated Shen Yin, causing her be distracted and she had been kidnapped as a result. She hurriedly apologized to her brother, who was sitting in the backseat with her.

Lian Jing shook his head and instructed Zhong Xin in a deep voice, “Prepare the cash. No matter how much they want, I have to save Shen Yin.”

Lian Meng looked at him in disbelief. “Brother! Are you really going to give those bastards money?! Shouldn’t we catch them and send them to prison before finding someone to torture them?!”

Lian Jing frowned and glanced at her. “For Shen Yin’s safety, we have to be fully prepared. Once we save Shen Yin, I won’t let them off!”
