90 Save Yourself

Shen Yin’s eyes widened as she suddenly thought of a person had been completely off the police’s radar.

Steady footstep sounded at the door. She stared in the direction of the door. As the door creaked, Shen Yin saw a completely unfamiliar man’s face.

The man was wearing a tattered, dirty long-sleeved camouflage uniform and a pair of muddy cloth shoes. His facial features were refined, but he was growing old. He was starting to gain weight, and his face was a little bloated.

“Lu Kai, it’s you.”

Shen Yin confidently called out the name that had only been briefly recorded in the dossier.

“You’re Dr. Shen, right? You’re really smart. Unfortunately, smart people usually don’t live long.” The man licked his dry lips and stared at Shen Yin’s long legs like a hungry wolf.

Shen Yin subconsciously shrank back, but for some reason, this action pleased him.

“If only you were a little more stupid. That way, I wouldn’t have to go into so much trouble to get rid of you.” Lu Kai grabbed the straw and wiped the blood off the fruit knife. He looked down at Shen Yin’s beautiful face and could not help but touch it.

Shen Yin hurriedly moved backward, but the pain in her shoulder stopped her.

The blood on the man’s hand was smeared on her face. Dirtying her seemed to excite him. He suddenly lowered his head and chuckled softly. “I’ve followed you for a few days. Are you President Lian’s lover?”

“No.” Shen Yin lowered her eyes and calmly thought of a plan. She had not gone to work the entire day. Before hanging up, she had said that she would be there soon. She believed that with Captain Wu’s intelligence, he would definitely notice something amiss.

All she could do now was stall for time and wait for help.

Lu Kai picked up the fruit knife and pressed it against her neck. “What? Dr. Shen can’t wait to be buried with that mother and son?”

“Why would I? Everyone wants to live.” Shen Yin smiled and looked fearlessly into his eyes. “Mr. Lu, haven’t all your struggles up to date been for the sake of survival?”

“Yes.” He let go and sat opposite Shen Yin again. “Dr. Shen, you’re really an outstanding woman. I can’t bear to kill you.”

Shen Yin chuckled and suddenly looked at him seriously. “I don’t think I’m that charming. Mr. Lu, the reason why you have the leisure to chat with me is because you actually don’t want to kill me, right?”

Lu Kai was stunned, and his expression instantly turned ferocious. “If I kill you, no one will be able to trace it back to me. Those police officers won’t know who the murderer is, and it might be a long time before the bodies of you and Lin Hui are discovered.”

Shen Yin’s heart sank. It seemed that her current location was very remote. Wu Zheng and the others probably would not be able to find this place.

As she thought about how to escape, she tried her best to find a topic to divert Lu Kai’s attention. “But you still didn’t do anything, did you? You killed Lin Hui swiftly because you hated her.”

Lu Kai’s breathing suddenly quickened. “She’s is a vicious woman! She deceived me for so many years, and now she wants to expose me to protect her adulterer. Of course I had to kill her!”

“Deceived you?” Shen Yin suddenly thought of something and her eyes widened. “Lu Feng isn’t your biological son? His biological father is actually Chen Ke, right?!”

When Lu Kai heard Chen Ke’s name, his eyes suddenly grew fierce. “She’s been lying to me. She deserves to be raped by her son. What I regret the most is trusting her and saving her!”
