Hey everyone! Chapter update!

Please comment and vote if you like my story cause I love to hear what you think!!

"I swear to god if you scare me like that again I might actually kill you myself." Mason growled as I returned to my bed from the bathroom.

I was able to walk by myself now - thank god -although, I did still need help with showering.

"Trust me, it was no cake walk for me either." I rolled my eyes, holding his arm as I crawled back into bed.

When I was seated I opened my lunch tray to find plain chicken with carrots and peas. What could a girl do to get McDonalds around here!? Skipping that and going straight to the dessert of jelly and ice cream, I turned to Mason once again.

"Did you speak to the nurses about transporting dad to this hospital?" I asked, licking the lid of the jelly cup.

Mason sat in the chair he now called 'Mason's Throne' with his ankle crossed over his knee and arms resting behind his head.

"Yeah, they're moving him here tomorrow."

Dad had suffered a minor cardiac event, sort of like a minor heart attack. Luckily, he wasn't too shaken and was able to be transported to my hospital 110kilometres from home. I'd begged the nursing staff and made plenty of calls to his hospital and thankfully nagged them enough that they agreed to letting him come here.

I'd said that it would be better for him to see that I was okay rather than putting more stress on his 'fragile and broken heart' by worrying about me.

Mason was a little nervous about meeting him though. My dad was one of the loveliest people ever but he could be a little rough around the edges when it came to boyfriends. How I was going to explain our living situation, I don't know.

After my freak out where I had to have induced sleep through a sedative that quite literally felt like it turned my muscles to jelly, the doctors said it would be best if I spent just a couple more days in hospital to ensure I didn't move any of my broken ribs.

It felt like I had punctured a lung but it turns out I'd just disturbed the trauma of my injuries.

I looked over at Mason who was eyeing my ice cream.

"What?" I questioned, pushing my tray a little to the side so he couldn't reach it.

"Can I have that ice cream?" He licked his lips and leaned forward a little in his seat.

"Uh, no. You can have my peas and carrots though?" He scrunched his nose up at my offer and made a move to snatch my ice cream cup away.

"Excuse you!" I grabbed it before he could take it.

"Oh come on, Ashley! Please?" I shook my head, my spoon of jelly in my mouth.

I didn't see him stand up as I was thoroughly enjoying my shitty Jelly. Not.

What I did see though was his hands rest on my tray and looked up to see his face just inches from mine. Sure the food wasnt great, but the dessert was the best part and there was no way as a crippled patient that I was giving it up.

My breath hitched in my throat and his eyes held a green fire in them.

"You know, I could make you an exchange for that ice cream." He whispered, his voice low and husky. I managed to squeak out a 'no' which caused him to breathe out a short laugh and move closer to my face.

His eyes flickered to my lips and he licked his. I swear the room actually went up twenty degrees despite it being freezing outside.

My eyes fluttered closed and my breathing became deep and slow as he grazed his lips over mine. I tried to lean in but he pulled away slightly, smirking at my eagerness before moving forward again. He brought his mouth to my ear where his teeth grazed the top and he whispered, "But, if you're not willing to share I guess it's a no deal."

And he pulled away leaving me dazed and hot. When I actually managed to breathe again and open my eyes I looked over at a  Mason who was enjoying my ice cream with a devious grin on his face.

Dad had arrived and I'd managed to walk to the Intensive Care Unit where they wanted to do some tests on him before allowing him into my ward.

"Dad, I'm so sorry!" I said when I saw him lying down in his hospital bed.

I had to hold myself back from running over to him.

"Ashley, it's okay. As long as you're safe." That was him, my dad. So selfless. He would take a bullet for me and say the same thing. If I was monster truck driving and ran over a a basket of kittens he'd still say the same thing.

I leaned forward the best I could and kissed him on the cheek. I was able to move a bit better now and the doctors had said that my body was repairing itself at a great pace.

"How are you feeling?" I asked, lowering myself into the chair slowly.

"Oh I'm fine, dear. Minor cardiac event, don't make it such a big deal." He waved it off.

"But it is a big deal, dad. I'm so sorry." I could feel the tears well in my eyes and I had to tip my head back a little.

"Enough of this. I'm fine, you're fine. We're fine. Where's this Mason you were telling me about?"

Uh oh.

"Uh, he said he was going to the bathroom. I'll just introduce you to him tomorrow."

"No, I want to meet the man who pulled my daughter from a car wreck, now."

Ugh, this is not going to end well.

"Alright, he'll be here soon." Right on schedule, two minutes later he walked into the room.

"Dad this is Mason." I moved to stand and Mason strode over to help me. He kept his arm around my waist and smiled at dad.

Dads face was blank and his lips were pursed as if he was examining Mason. Ahh! Don't say anything Mason!

"Nice to meet you, sir." Mason nodded, and dads face didn't change. He was appraising him and if dad knew that Mason and I were together he'd bring me back home.

"Mason's gay, dad!" I exclaimed and I felt Mason go rigid beside me. I am going to be in sooooo much trouble.

"Is that so, Mason? Well, I can't say I didn't suspect." I bit my lip. Okay so I was probably going to die but this was incredibly enjoyable.

"Oh really?" I could see his slight glare when I glanced at him, but he quickly recovered dropping his hand from my side.

Mason pressed his hand to his chest and giggled flicking his head as though he had a fringe.

Gob smacked. That's the best way to explain my expression at that moment.

"It is so nice to meet you, sir. You certainly have a troublemaker with this little one." He laughed and tousled my hair. Dad was now wearing a great grin.

"I can see that, Ashley you should take more care of yourself." Hold up. What the hell? Gay Mason managed to turn my dad against me. This is not okay.

"Dad, I know I should have told you earlier but Mason is living with me. He had to move in after he caught his boyfriend cheating on him." Mason sniffed beside me and he turned away to wipe his eye sticking his leg out in a stance and holding his hand on his hip.

"Oh, I am sorry, son. Is there anything else we can do?" Ugh! What the hell!

"No, it's okay. Thank you, though. You really should be giving Ashley all the credit, she is a wonderful person." He leaned down and kissed me on the cheek which earned a chuckled from my father.

Even when he was playing gay, he still managed to set a cage of butterflies loose in my stomach.

"These meds have me needing to nap every ten minutes," I yawned. Not really, I just wanted to get the hell out of the twilight zone. "Mason can you come tuck me in?"

"Of course, darl." He smiled at my father before turning to walk out of the room.

"I'll see you later, dad." I winked a goodbye and he waved softly as I followed Masons steps while he swung his arms and flicked his 'fringe' again.

When we were sufficiently away from him and closer to my room, I turned to Mason.

"Oh my god, I'm going to start calling you Macy." I laughed, but it hurt so I had to stop.

"I'm so going to get you back for that." He wrapped his arm around my shoulder and kept walking to our room.

He helped me get onto the bed where he sat opposite me.

"You know, you played that very well. AND dad thought you were gay before you started pretending."

I snorted and had to bite my lip at the death stare he was giving me which quickly turned into a smirk.

"I'm not gay, Ashley."

"Are you sure? You had the hips going and everything." I smirked and he gave me a devious smile, pulling his lip between his teeth.

"I'll prove it to you." He whispered, his voice deep and husky as he moved forward, putting his body between my legs and biting my neck. My eyes rolled back into my head and I let out a sigh.

He worked his way slowly and teasingly up my neck to my mouth where he just grazed his lips over mine. I got impatient and reached up with my good arm to pull him down to me.

He smirked against my mouth before sinking his teeth into my lip. I ran my hand down his side to where his tattoo was and lifted his shirt up so I could touch his warm skin.

"Excuse me," Mason and I pulled away to look at a nurse standing in the doorway. I unwrapped my legs from around his waist and he sat back on his knees

"No baby making on premises, please." I laughed and she chuckled.

"Okay, Kirsty. Sorry." Mason gave her a salute and she walked away rolling her eyes with a smile on her face.

I grinned up at Mason who leaned down again to peck me on the nose before getting off the bed and collecting his things.

"Where are you going?" I asked, my bottom lips sticking out causing him to smile and shake his head.

"I'm going to get you take away." I gasped and fist pumped with my good arm.
